So, I guess Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, suck because they use pedals? Are you a guitar player? This guy’s tone is pretty average, he could use a couple pedals
Indeed! I'm dependent on pedals cuz I need Roland Jazz Chorus cleans, light overdrive, High gain, medium gain and all in between... I admire the old school 1 guitar 1 cable 1 Amp guys...It's a challange
I have a Roland JC 120.I think I bought it in 1985,it’s my favorite.Oh,I have a few pedals, and other amps as well. There was a time when about the only pedal was a Cry Baby.
Just saw these guys at "Sam's Burger Joint" in San Antonio. Insanely talented band backing Walter's MONSTER chops. His humor and storytelling was infectious too. What a show!
Me also. Three times. It was after I had purchased "Live From Behind the Iron Curtain" by John Mayall. Not a good sound recording but you could hear those two great guitars well enough. That lineup was the only twin lead guitar group Mayall ever put together. Where does he find them all? Clapton, Greene, Taylor, etc I just saw Coco with his group at a club a week ago. Still going strong too. He played "Have you Heard" off Mayall's first Bluebreakers album as a tribute. Also was on the aforementioned live LP.
Way back in the late 80's when I returned to So Cal after I served in the Army, I could catch Walter at PERQS, a little dive bar on Main St. in Huntington Beach, Ca. It was free, no charge to see Walter just tear the joint down!!
In 1987, as a college kid, I worked at Fountain Valley Music, right next to Huntington Beach where he played all the time. I had just moved to Socal and didn't know about Walter. I sold him and his the bass player some strings. They were both incredibly gracious and kind. I wish I knew who I had met at the time.
He's right! A Mesa Boogie full bore will ruin your hearing permanently. Hello Tinitus! They are Sledge Hammer amps. Gotta be confident with that amount of voluminous impact. Sounds great from here!
Everything I hate about blues played live; endless guitar soloing, vocals don't matter, terrible song, etc... But, glad to see he groomed & dressed for the occasion. LOL Can he do fast scale runs? Sure...
No effects pedals, just a strat and a cable! My man!
Well, it is blues. Not Pink Floyd

Insane talent. I remember seeing Walter Trout and Coco Montoya in the Bluesbreakers with John Mayall back in the 1980s. My favorite lineup.

No pedals and he can make that Strat sing. Have mercy Walter.
If you had an $8000 rig to plug in to you wouldn’t need pedals either 😘
I saw him live at the dinosaur bbq in Rochester ny 20 plus years ago the greatest guitar player I ever heard…. Next level mesmerizing

Nice to see Darrell’s house is doing something other than tribute Bands 😊
And people talk about Joe Bonamassa as you said, not a pedal in sight just pure style

Daryl, you're the iron man and I hope you get back healthy real soon.
Love raw talent live...go Walter go, you are released !!hahaha😂
Nice to see him looking so well
Hope you are feeling better Daryl
Walter is better than most of the Famous Blues gtr Players .
I LOVE WT !
SWEET!
Wow !
A survivor! 🙏🙏👍
Johnny Avila (Oingo Boingo) on the bass. Just your average Pasadena bar band types. We tend to kick ass a bit.
His brother Sammy played keys for Walter for years. I wonder where he is now?
WOW!!!!!!!
Holy smokes! Never sounded better.

C'mon Walter, show me what you got
Is that the best picture you could find of the guy?
He’s great but that turner hangin’ off the end of his Strat looks silly if not pretentious. Lol 😊
I guess he retired his number one.
can't hear lead guitar ,on purpose???
Rick Knapp smokes this guy!
Sound was terrible.

I get it. But there’s a wide range of blues players with different styles. I would point you to Matt Schofield…
SRV He's not
No one said he was.
Is this a joke? Wtf is this guy?
Monster😊
