You were worried about the palm trees not looking realistic, but your trees are fine. The gradient on the fronds is spot on. As a Florida girl, I can't stand freezing temps. Anything below 75f is cold. 80's is perfect, while 90's and up is beach weather. :D

not gonna try to change your mind ... just say that there are many builders on hemitcraft that are on par with scar.... which is an insanely high bar - it just comes down to... look at grian's most recent episode - the willingness to put in unreasonable grinds is perhaps the biggest differentiation.. scar puts in some *unreasonable* grinds... like "of course" was my reaction to ore mountain... and of course it was also beautiful ... then there's bdubs. the center of the shopping district instantly became his bamboo shop - like... you don't even need a farm for bamboo and imo it would be crazy to buy it as just plant a stack and go get something to drink and a snack... it's the reverse of copper trapdoors - a good looking block that's basically free it grows so fast and is so easy to harvest. Stress's end rod shop is one of my favorite builds - it's stupid good - and she was clearly playing into the aesthetic bdubs started same as the rest of the shops now attached - bdubs is the bob ross of minecraft. building with bdubs is on a different level from everyone... i don't mean that as a slight to anyone... i just mean it like... he approaches and just talks about things differently... it doesn't feel like minecraft - it's like... well watching a painter teach people to paint. long way to say everyone on hermitcraft is awesome in their own way - but when it comes to minecraft youtube if "etho is your favorite youtubers favorite minecraft channel"... bdubs is that to building... his thumbnails alone.... i would buy prints of them... the man is an artist... watch impulse's video where he builds the power plant and just look at how much he cares about being up to bdubs standards...it's *such* a good build too... most everyone on the sever can build great given the right inspiration. *pearl also deserves more credit for unreasonable grinds after... i mean last season i feel like scar hired her to clean up the dragon eggs from scarland the episode prior to her not only cleaning up stacks and stacks of eggs, but then also building an ender dragon out of eggs on top of string in the sky that made even doc ask "who is crazy enough to do this? wow". also that dragon was one of the coolest builds i've ever see in the game...
Wall blocks. They're where it's at. Chuck some of them in your texturing for a touch of shadow and a slightly creepy vibe. Can help break up a big mossy wall too!
If the building is not set yet a way to make it creepier could be colour transitions/combos etc. that are "wrong" obviously it's hard to not just look bad but done well I think it could give an unsettling effect

This is probably not helpful at all but the only darker greenish blocks i can think of are deepslate emerald ore and deepslate copper ore but i dont think its the vibe you're going for 😅🫣
