I can see a lot of different variations of different styles of mesh coils being done with this tank. And I can see myself definitely getting hold of one of these, just because it's so different. And thanks Todd for showing this one off, I've been waiting for a review of this from someone I could actually understand. :D
It's not my style of vaping, but I love the innovation. Honestly, it kind of takes me back 5 years when new tank designs were commonplace. Thanks for the video.
Nice review Todd. I've seen a couple of German reviewers that are doing these kind of builds in different post less tanks and RDA's. They make holders using cotter pins. Not 100% sure exactly what kind they were using since I couldn't understand them. My guess would be the pins are made of SS. This could be something very innovating moving forward in building coils with mesh. I think it's great.
Well it's big, ugly and strange. Damn but I want one! It's so unusual, and as you say intriguing. I just want to have a play 'cos it's so different. Lovely review mate, enjoyed that 👍
This device reminds me of my German Stil Genius V2. I like mesh concept compared to the traditional coil setup in the Stil. Great review as always Todd.
Fair, and honest words about the BT :D It drinks down more juice than any other device I've seen. The innovation is there - but just following the #aveitlarge, #cloudsbroclouds and so on styles of vaping. I'd love to see this kind of setup in a more traditional atomizer. But i guess there would be problems with the size of the mesh and the resistances. The smaller the mesh is cut, the higher the resistance gets, but at one point one would presumably loose too much surface area - hence flavour...
nice review, i've been waiting for your opinion. Have been using the BT now since a week and a half and i still love it. Literally i have not used any othe RTA since i got it...
just got mine today..put a .30 ni80 mesh build in it, vaping at 65w..it a nice different experience but im only gonna use it at home to not bother anyone with the clouds loool...my day to day vape is the gt3 and until now i havnt found an rta that knocks it off the block...cool review as always todd, keep it up :D
Wow, that is the most unique atty I have ever seen! Thanks for showing this mate. Its not my style but I really hope that this innovation filters down to something more reduced that fits my vaping style. Simply amazing and thanks for another great review :-)
Wow that’s cool!! Really enjoyed watching you build it lol. I have the same thoughts you do at the end. But would love to see other devices like that with better battery and juice efficiency. Love the concept tho
it needs an adapter for reducing down to decent Flavour drip tips great Review as always Todd Thanks for the English version , you and Phil B are the Only English speaking reviewer of these style RTA,s 👍👍,
I'm intrigued by this Taifun new Mesh take , a cloud chaser unlike any other taifun before it , is plenty of others with the steel rod wicks out recently, A popular thing in Germany So is Flash E Vapour RTA, Im interested in quite a few popular German RTA,,s recently and im awaiting a Fev V4 to arrive , nearly bought Fev dD 32mm 12ml seen a mesh coil used in Flash e RTA s by other German reviews , own all Aromamiser ,inc new V2 supreme which is great, plus ect. Currently using V4 mini Vapour Giant (SRV4) inc nano MTL kit Taifun GTv3, kfv5 doggy style RTA, TF GTv2 Hussar RTA, single coil wanting to get the Spica RTA but so Rare at moment. even though been out over a month.
I wonder how much you could change the vape behavior by changing the type and shape of the mesh. Maybe a thicker/thinner mesh would bring down it's vape sweet spot to work better at lower power. Maybe different material, or also changing the mesh ''loop' height or diameter. The amount of power used and heat generated, aka the heat-flux, is normally controllable with different coils by a combination of the material, the gauge, diameter and the number of wraps, so there should be some corollary with playing with the mesh-loop physicalities. Interesting concept, but a bit steep of a price in order to do some experimenting that may or may not work out for personal preferences. Thanks for the review and your take on it.
The limiting factor for me is the size of the internal chamber and drip tip, it dictates that you do need that high power output to get flavour but then I could be completely wrong ;)
No doubt the chamber size is part of the equation, but a big part starts with how much surface area you are heating up, and to what temp you are heating it and the juice that is in contact with it. Getting a given quantity of juice (driven largely by surface area) to the ideal temperature is the starting point of good flavor. Once that ideal point is maintained, more surface area increases the vapor amount of that ideal flavor. More power is needed to keep more surface area at a given temperature. That's the basics of heat flux driven heater design. I'd have to do some math to figure out the surface area of that mesh strip to compare it what you would be get with a normal wire coil in order to have a basis of comparison. So e.g. making the strip narrower will reduce the surface area, which will require less power to get it to appropriate temperature, and also produce less vapor. But you should still be able to get close to the same flavor 'quality'. Then comes things like chamber size and air flow. Larger chambers cool the vapor more after heating and before inhaling, which affects flavor, and also can make the vapor less dense. You might be able to reduce the chamber somewhat by stuffing it with more cotton, maybe even putting in some kind of Delrin filler ring or something like that (easy enough to carve from a blank piece). And you could probably get someone to make a drip tip with a smaller final opening (or create a 510 adapter). Not sure it is worth all that effort, but the heating concept is so unique compared to what we all have spent years developing and understanding on how to find our preferred vape, this thing could yield a whole other spectrum of experiences. And the wicking design seems awesome. Or maybe you could wait for a Taifun BT Mini-MTL version. All interesting stuff.
Understood that all that physics stuff is not what most people think about directly. But it should be easy enough to just build with a mesh loop that is 2/3 or 1/2 the height of what you were doing and see what it does. Then maybe also try different mesh densities. Not sure if anyone makes Kanthal or Nichrome mesh, but that would be another useful variable. Maybe they make them in different types of SS, like SS304, SS316, SS317, SS430 etc. Have fun!
As always, Todd brings out the niche O niche's O the vaping world. Great great review! Looks far more user friendly than the Gevolution2. A late newcomer to the mesh party here. Is this still worth buying half a decade later in 2022? 🤣 is the question....! Re flavour and clouds
Hallo first,no it's not worth it,I had this vaporizer and I was never satisfied with tihis vaporizer, the taste is weak and the vapor is too humid, too wet, like inhaling liquid.
@@bayramaktas4135 hello! Too late afandem ! 😂 sadly. Still fiddling with it. Youre absolutely right. It wont give anything decent before 70 watts...90 is where it starts. But at that power you finish the juice in 10 minutes !
whats up... hey since you are familiar with the Taifun BT, I thought you may like to try out the Cthulhu CETO RDA... I would like to hear your thoughts..
Nice review. Thanks. Since this is not your style, I'd be happy to take care of it for you :-) I am quite QUITE intrigued... So much so, I've got half a mind to try a mesh build in a good or somesuch until I can acquire this.
Don't need the massive clouds for me, but, I'm liking the mesh wrapped cotton and cable wicking. Think I'll play around with cotton and mesh in an rda with clamps, hmmmmm...
Todd...How about suggesting to someone on building a SQUONKER using this method of coil building. I mean an RDA with a SQUONK pin..just the top section only and get rid of the tank and cable...3mm of ss mesh not 5mm...set in a 22/23mm RDA at 3 to 4 ohm build. Trim wire to 2mm or whatever to drop the ohms for those pushing the danger zones. Just a thought...I'd give her a go.
Hey Todd, Great Video but you did the build a little wrong normally you would stick the mesh in put the pin in and then turn the pin to lock the mesh in place
Hi Tod, I have problem with the mesh, there are hotspots (mesh quality?) and I can see some burned mark in the mesh, any tips how to get rid of the hotspots? should I burned the mesh before installing??
I thought the TPD meant a blanket ban on all devices with capacity over 2ml across the EU at a minimum. I'm in Ireland myself and I've stocked up a bit but was expecting large RTAs to become a think of the past or a black market item. Difficult at this stage to really understand how each EU state has chosen to adopt it and how much choice they have. The Irish gov't seems a bit vague on the subject but local vape shops are clearing out RTAs and bottles >10mm like they're on fire!
The TPD states: "nicotine-containing liquid is only placed on the market in dedicated refill containers not exceeding a volume of 10 ml, in disposable electronic cigarettes or in single use cartridges and that the cartridges or tanks do not exceed a volume of 2 ml;" therefore the capacity of non-disposable tanks like RTAs, RDAs, RDTAs, Subohm tanks etc. has merely have to be smaller than 10ml. Btw. do you know what the "BT" in "Taifun BT" stands for? It stands for Brückmann Thomas. : P
That's the first time I've heard the rules interpreted that way (and I like it!). Strange so many new 2ml "TPD Compliant" tanks have some out lately. And someone really needs to tel lthese guys! ecigintelligence.com/new-e-cig-design-gets-round-tpds-tank-size-limits/
Ridiculous, anything more then 30 watts makes excessive battery drain a pain in the ass. What do you get, 50 hits out of that thing and time for a recharge? My batts go 12 hours between charges or else I look for another mod and tank that will.
I have one of these and a strange problem has occurred. When I build and test before I put the sleeve on it's fine, when I put the sleeve on I get atomizer short. Any suggestions?
Now that i watched 5 Videos on this tank, ur experience with it, seems to concur with my opinion. Its more vapor than i need. Dual fused claptons in an RDA or TANK all day.
Thanks Todd for the reply... I thought you could help me and many others that will be getting one maybe from Fasttech as they are selling the tank clone for $13 without the cables. I know you said SS cable 7/7 but there are different sizes how wide they are....
Hey @todd i was wondering if you would consider selling me your BT RTA. considering its nto your type of vape, i have been looking for one for a long time and had no luck. pretty please
Nah, this device looks like it sat on the shelf for a few years before someone greenlit production on it. This is the logical progression of 2013 genesis tanks but I don't think it can compete with typical modern wire and cotton setups. Geekvape, OBS, Wotofo, and Wismec all make devices that perform really really well for a lot less money and without the extra assembly, semi-proprietary materials (what other devices do we currently use that require ss mess and steel cable?) and this thing takes much more power and juice to create a satisfying experience. My guess is some people will buy it for nostalgia, some for novelty, some because they like to tinker, but in the end those buyers will gradually switch back to their contemporary design wire and wick tanks.

wher3e from?
Totally different experience concerning taste.
For sure a" must have " product for those who do not compromise...
Does that mean I do compromise?
I was wondering when you would show this. It seems like mesh could also be used as a wick material for it. I really like the looks of it.
Good review Mr Todd, can't lie I'm somewhat fascinated by this tank, thinking it on an ijoy 20700 battery mod may just work too
Lovely little tank very good. Have a wonderful new year. All the best todd. david. Vaping penshioner....

love ur honesty & as always a great review. Very interesting tank.

Nice Video as always ... the BT is very Special of course :-)
Hey Todd, Great Video but you did the build a little wrong normally you would stick the mesh in put the pin in and then turn the pin to lock the mesh in place
Batıkan Şenay didn't read the video description did you 😉
not until now 😅
Damn. It's so big I thought it was a 26650 mech mod from the thumbnail.
I've got mine still sitting in the box, the damn thing is so pretty I can't seem to bring myself to use it
i will buy it off you?
I'm drawn to buying it! Great vid BTW!
Thanks 😁
For some strange reason I cannot explain.......I want one of these. 😂

True story! If you wanna burn juice like hell, this is the right atty!
Thank you Todd for a great review, not my kinda thing but Dis Won I think is. Please tell me where you got the juice?

Looks fun.... Just need to find one
Thanks Mark, nice atty....!
hi todd I'm really into sub ohm vaping i love the tfv8 would you recommend this tank has it better flavour than a sub ohm tank.
matt halycz never used that tank so really can't comment.
im mean do u think the taifun has better flavour than most sub tanks...sorry todd didnt explain myself very well.
matt halycz literally every single rebuildable tank or dripper on the planet will taste better than a sub tank. They really are garbage
Thanks for the review in English.
Thanks Todd - really interesting one. Will this RTA not be illegal to sell in 3 days time thanks to the crazy TPD legislation?
Not in Germany it isn't.
It is approved in Europe

I have that steel wick (the twisted ones you see in your tank) sticks, can i use it on a other machine aswell?
Yes you can, works very well in RDTAs
Unique tank and setup. But, im not a fan of all that metal sitting in the e-liquid over a period of time. Just my thoughts..
thanks for the vids! I can't find this in stock anywhere and I really don't need it but I want it so so bad lol ☺
Next batch is coming mid / end of June most likely :)
+HeliXtremeFlo thankyou for the info! how will the TPD affect this product? cheers.
No effect at all, its fully licensed & TPD compliant
but from everythin i can hear the next batch is also aready sold out...
they only meant that everyting is already ordered & sold to all the various shops out there, its not sold out for us customers ;)
Do you know that what kind of ss mesh is in the starting kit ?(250,400,500?)
Pretty sure it is 300.
it is 300

jon hillman well. Seeing as mesh is everywhere now. I guess you were wrong. And this was actually early.
that hurt my brain. wow _b
Where can you buy the SS Mesh
+Christian Coleman any half decent vape shop should still have some about but also the usual wick and wire shops will also have it.
