Hello everyone, welcome to my channel, this is my very first video on UA-cam! I'm gonna tell you about my language learning journey in 7 languages, you can skip to the part that interests you:
    00:00 Intro
    01:02 Chinese|中文
    02:20 French|français
    03:50 Arabic|عربي
    05:58 Turkish| Türkçe
    07:12 Farsi|فارسى
    09:09 German|Deutsch
I don't have the same level in all languages. But when I say I can speak a language, it means I have at least an intermediate level and I can hold a conversation. I am still learning, I hope you enjoy the video and I will be happy if you can find inspiration or motivation in my story. Tell me if you are also a language lover. Feel free to ask questions or make comments .

@@ommsterlitz1805 I took up Nahuatl and it helped me out with Russian. I also started to read Nahuatl scripts in Cyrillic and it sped up my conjugation and pronunciation by a lot. I.e Xochtili was trimmed to сочи, Nezacoytol - незакоьётл /// неза-ко-ётл ) Now i'm thinking about learning Polish, but I feel like I should learn Polish w/ Cyrillic alphabet because it feels so natural for me now.
I struggled w/ French a lot because of proncuncation, i think French needs like a Pin Yang alphabet because its so different from Portugese,Spanish and italian pronunciation. There is no rules or too many exceptions for their pronunciations.

I'm a native Portuguese and I've only really learned English. I can speak a bit of french, italian and japanese - just enough to have realized this: it's just so nice to understand other languages. Here in Portugal we don't get movies/TV dubbing pretty much never - it's all subtitles. But you know what, even when I was a kid that made an impact on me. I was fortunate enough to watch movies made in different countries and learned to realize the value of their different languages. Even if I didn't understand the words, the manner of speaking, the colloquialisms, the expressions, the sounds, etc etc, bring such a multitude of meanings and impacts - you just experience so much more of life by trying to understand other languages. I just wish many more people had the time/space to learn different languages and not just slave away at their jobs (like me)

You're right. Learning extra languages is an excellent exercise for your brain: it's proven that it improves your mental capacities. Besides, it intellectually opens your mind: it offers you new horizons. Lat but not least, with a good knowledge of Swedish you can also travel to Finland (where Swedish is an official language beside Finnish) and to Denmark and Norway, whose languages are very, very close to Swedish. In short, you're not wasting your time - definitely.

I've been learning german since 1st grade by a lovely old woman who lived nearby a german school in my city.So my dad decided to attend some simple courses for me to learn a second language .After 1 year of learning it , I was already in second grade and i knew loads of simple words.Even phrases sometimes. He decided that it was better if I practiced german pretty often at school so he moved me to a german school and so did german became my second language . 2 years later I had to prepare for an important german exam at the end of the 4th class .I took the tes and I got one of the best scores from my class ( back then ) .Then, on 6th grade the pandemic hit on us so we obviously had no choise rather than staying in quarantine for months .So I lost interest in learning this language. Then 7th grade came around . I haven't remembered anything !! My vocabulary was previously small and I constantly forgot the articles "der, die, das" I couldn't even remember how to use them . ( I was still online schooled ) Now, I'm in 8th grade and still can't manage to say a scentence right in comparison with the old days. I tried to learn more vocabulary from class , I tried to write E-Mails and articles, similarly like an English exam . So far , I think almost 8 years have passed and I should've known this language as native speaker would do . This is literally insane. All these years of effort were screwed .And i'm not the only one in my class , all of my classmates have been making these mistakes and from now on they still continue for some reason . What should I do to recover all the unclear things i didn't understand? How do i get my vocabulary back? What should i do to fall in love with this language again? Motivation and focus ? Tricks ? Techniques? Pleaseee I need *help*!!

    in brief:
In this video, a polyglot named Zoe introduces herself and shares her journey in learning seven languages.
Being Chinese by origin, she's currently living in France, pursuing a Ph.D. in Sociology.
Zoe discusses her Chinese background, mentioning that she speaks Mandarin as her mother tongue and a regional dialect called Gui Liu, which is closely related to Mandarin.
She also speaks a distinct language known as Zhuang, native to her mother's ethnic group, that's very different from Mandarin and is closely related to Thai.
She has also learned Cantonese during her undergraduate studies in Guangzhou.
When she moved to France for her studies, she immersed herself in French and eventually considered it her second mother tongue.
She recalls the difficulty she faced initially despite having a C1 level in French, especially in understanding academic terminologies.
To overcome this, she recorded lessons and transcribed them, enabling her to improve her language skills and fluency in French.
Now, she uses French as her academic and working language, delivering conferences and lectures in French and English.
Zoe started learning Arabic three years ago, beginning with classical Arabic.
She traveled to Morocco and Egypt for immersive language experiences.
Noticing that street Arabic was different from classical Arabic, she decided to learn the Egyptian dialect to communicate better with locals.
Despite finding Arabic to be the most difficult language she has learned, she didn't give up, continuing to practice every day and finding opportunities to converse in Arabic.
Zoe also talks about her experiences with Turkish, a language she learned for a year.
She found it easy to practice Turkish in Turkey due to the welcoming nature of the Turkish people.
She has also been learning Persian for the same amount of time, and she found it easier due to her prior knowledge of Arabic.
However, her initial Persian had a bit of Arabic accent which she has been working on.
She was attracted to Persian for its beauty, poetry, and melody.
Zoe's seventh language is German, which she admits is her weakest as she rarely gets a chance to practice it.
Interestingly, she learned German in Egypt with the intention of pursuing her Ph.D. in Germany.
However, she ended up practicing more Arabic than German there.
She clarifies that she does not come from a diplomatic family, nor did she start learning these languages as a child.
She attributes her linguistic prowess to passion, patience, persistence, and hard work rather than innate talent.
She assures viewers that everyone has the potential to learn new languages if they have the right passion and employ effective learning methods.
Zoe concludes by stating that the purpose of her channel is to document her progress and share her language learning methods, stories, and tips.
She hopes to inspire others and provide help for those interested in learning languages.
Despite not being perfect in all languages, she's still learning and improving, inviting viewers to join her in this journey of continual learning.

    Greeting from Japan!
1: If you learn any one foreign language, does it help you to learn a second new language because you can use the process as a benchmark to establish a more efficient way of learning?
2: Is it easier for a language group to learn another language of the same language group, like a Spaniard learning Portuguese, a German learning Dutch or an Iranian learning Arabic, because it is easier to improve to a higher level than it should be? Or is there a risk of confusing words that exist in a foreign language similar to one's mother tongue, due to the similarities between them, which can lead to confused use?
3: Do polyglot people have to make a regular effort to relearn the language in its entirety or look up buzzwords, neologisms and slang in order to maintain a certain level of proficiency in each of the languages they have learnt?
4: Rather than becoming polyglot as an adult, is it still easier for someone with a background of education from childhood from parents who are multilingual to switch to another language without difficulty?

فارسی را از خیلی لحاظ می توان لهجه ۳۳ ام عربی دانست و بدون وجود زبان عربی و تورکی یک زبان مستقل نیست
Persian can be considered the 33rd dialect of Arabic in many ways, and it is not an independent language without Arabic and Turkish.

what ive noticed is how the structure of the shape of our skulls is super different. it was interested!! cause thats why they have easier time speaking in native language, than foreign. the shape of the mouth gives you options to different techniques using tongue, breathing. i hope you can see what i mean :)

Technically there is no such thing as Chinese as langue. However you may say Chinese languages, Which can be around 13 main different languages excluding dialects.
Many Words in Chinese languages have Turkic origin or exchanged. Also names are very similar. Manchu Language especially have many Turkic origin words. Unfortunately When Han Chinese Terrorists illegally occupied China until now Most mainstream non Mandarin languages banned.

wow Zoe! I've seen your other videos where you mention you speak 7 languages but truly it is more than that. I wouldn't discredit the other Chinese languages you mentioned. I live in Canada so we do have a prominent Chinese population and it is a mix of both Cantonese and Mandarin speakers but the newer waves of immigration tend to be Mandarin speakers. they're definitely different and I think your viewers would love to hear you speak more about your mother tongues. looking forward to more content from you
