I will share this video to my group of over 10,000 sublimation members.
You created a great tutorial. 😍🔥👏
They turned out beautifully❤it’s the time to press some of these out!!
You’re a great teacher! I’ve been binge watching your videos and I have learned so much from you! Thank you!!
I'm so glad!
That's really cool! I love wind spinners!
I have been making these for a while now. So much fun and designs are endless!
How much do you sell for?
@@sherriepatrick6713 $20.00 each
I’ve been making these as well and I add a small dot at the top and bottom of my image to mark where the center is so it lines up perfectly on both sides. Works perfectly!
Great idea!
I am so happy you did this! I have been wanting to do this but have been hesitant x now with instructions I can!
As usual, you share quality projects! If I need to learn something, I first go to your channel! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, these are so cute. I have some blanks and have had them for awhile so I need to try these.
Love this. You just solved a gift idea for a ‘hard to buy for friend’. Love your videos.
Thanks so much! 😊
Hi Angie!! I just ordered your Sub Organization Binder….thanks for the GREAT DEAL!! I have everything I need to sublimate - just haven’t taken the plunge yet!! Don’t know why I’m nervous about it…..I’ve done crafting and sewing most of my life! 😊
These wines spinners are adorable - I can’t believe you found blanks to sub on!!!
Yes! I love these blanks!! Be sure to join us for sublimation camp in May! Free tickets at sublimationcamp.com !

I too have been wanting to make these 😊 Thank you Angie for a great tutorial! ❤
Go for it!
@@AngieHolden
I have been wanting to do wind spinners, love the way they look and work. Thank you for an awesome video! I was worried about the bending of the rings, but you're video made it straight forward to follow!
Thanks again!!🥰
I was worried about that as well but it was super easy!
And I can’t get the template to work for larger size prints
I use the yellow letter size
Thank you
Maribeth
I had it working with the template after a month I wanted to make the spinners. We use to put the size in on the right under the layers and it won’t come up to put the size in
Thank you so much I am now going to try one of these spinners Thanks again YOU ROCK
Have fun!
Love these! Need to try!
SO COOL!! Added to my Birthday Wish List 😊
Have fun!
Never seen this before, neat idea!
I love these blanks!
hi angie i missed the camp for campers for sublimation but i did get jennifer makers sub cook book and i love all u guys stuff its great and i hope to get more inspired by you both thanks again alicia foor
So happy you are here!
Love these!!
I use 90 sec and works perfect each side
❤ Those are super cute.
Thank you!
Beautiful love them
Thank you! 😊
Thank you sooooo much for this excellent tutorial! Just did my first sublimation wind spinner following your instructions and it went great! But, of course, I forgot to peel off the plastic coating on the side that I wasn't sublimating - so I had to clean that up. But, I'm super excited about this project. Thanks again!
I do this ALL THE TIME! Ha!
This is awesome!!
Hiii...
My ink bled thru..how can I avoid this? I have watched 4 other videos and they all take both sides of the film off
So cute Angie! Great instructions! Thank you😅
You are so welcome!
Thank you for the video. I wanted to ask you if you would do a short video on how to sublimate photo in the center of the wind spinner. Also, if you are concerned about the UVA rays, Krylon makes a clear spray that protects items placed outdoors from fading, etc. I use it all of the time and it really works.
I did a photo in this video? Not sure what else I would say about doing a photo.
Great video, would love to see one on how to make the sublimation with a A4 paper.
It would be the same process.
Omg gorgeous
Thank you!
What is the name of the mat you are using
Thanks for a great share
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Angie for your easy to follow video. I mistakenly bout the 10" spinner not realizing I can't printer wider than 8.5". I'm going to order these smaller ones soon.
You can piece together your print and try it since you already have them!
I did the same thing!! Going to try piecing.
You could also use Infusible Ink (they are 12” sheets) to form an outer frame and cut the center to place your sublimated design.
Do you have a video on how to do this? I too bought 10" spinners not realizing the 2800 only goes to 8.5x14. :( @@AngieHolden
I followed your video but for some reason I'm getting bleeding on the other side. Do you know what would cause that
Very kool, thank you..
Glad you liked it!
I love this video! It was so informative. I do have one question, if you don’t have a firmer mat, can you just double over a thick towel and use that? The only night I have right now is the easy press one. I would’ve never thought about needing a firmer mat for something like this, thank you for that tip!
I would think that would work!
Thank you for sharing your talents! I was wondering, since these are primarily for outside, do you seal them with anything to prevent rust?
They should be sealed for that when coming to you.
Thank you for the vid. I ordered 2 spinners 8 inches for my 9x9. I don’t have a thin mat but was wondering if I can use a silicone kitchen mat?
That probably wouldn’t be thick enough. You can try the EasyPress mat I think. Just notice if it is deforming the wind spinner and affecting your sublimation.
These are great. Just received them. Since they will be out in the garden should a top protective coat need to be added?
It should not be needed but I don't know how good the UV coating is on these.
NICE!
Thanks!
Thanks for your instructions. My final wind spinners are vibrant , but have a little haze on them that you can see when tilting them against the light. Yours look crystal clear. Do you have any advice?
It could be the brand? You might also make sure you got the protective film off.
Great training video!
I have an outside event coming up.
Do you have any ideas how I can show these at the event?
I think I would do samples that you form like this and have hanging. Then you can have the ones you are going to sell flat for easier storage and transport!
Love all your videos. Do you let the first side cool down before you do the other side? Thanks.
They cool REALLY quickly so yes I did.
Thank you so much it's so cool. Can you tell how much to sell them for if they are not custom.
Sorry I do not have pricing.
❤🎉 ive been watching sublimation how tos for a while. I ordered some spinners, and flew by seat of pants making first one before looking how to. It turned out, but now watching how to. Lol. Yes. Im backwards
Good luck!
Thank you for the great tutorial. I’ve only seen 10” ones, and I only have printer that will print 8 1/2 x 11 or 14. Have you done one for the 10”? Beautiful.
You would need to piece your sublimation prints together which can get tricky.
I ordered the 8" on Amazon today.
Really awesome love them just don't do sublimation yet could I
Ossibly do infusable ink thanks again for another great video
Yes you can!
@@AngieHolden awesome cant wait make for sprig thanks angie
Hello. I bought same exact wind spinners on Amazon. I did not see any protective film and even felt for it. Is that normal with certain sellers? It comes with a sleeve. I sublimated anyway and it came out beautifully.
I do feel like the protective film is hit or miss from any place.
Hi, the wind spinners came out great. I’m also going to order the 8 inch. I had previously ordered 210 inch wind spinners, but my printer doesn’t print big. Would you be able to tell me how to piece together an image so I could fit it on the 2 10 inch spinners? I had brought an image into Design Space and hit slice but when I printed it did not come out right. Thank you.
I have been working on a larger than the printer video but it is tricky so I am trying to get it right!
Thank you , i have been wanting to try them but was scared id mess up
They are easy to make!
These are very cute! How did you get a round picture as well as combing it with background picture?
I just used canva and they have circle frames that allow you to drop a picture inside.
If I may...what size is the inside circle that you put your picture on? Love your videos, have learned so much stuff. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks...lol have a great day everyone.
I measured the inside surface on the wind spinner and made it about that size.
I loved you video and it all seems very easy to do except how do you get the film off?
I just use my fingernail but you can also try picking up with gorilla tape.
Angie I ordered the large silicone mat that you had the link to. I am going to be using my large Cricut press. My question is, should I remove the cricut mat and not use it if I'm using the silicone mat?
Correct. Just use one of the mats.
@@AngieHolden Thank you
Lovely video instructions. Can You please tell Me , Why my image does not transfer all the ink ,when sublimating as Yours does. I seem to have a lot of image left. even though it will work out .
If the image on the spinner looks good, it is fine regardless of what your paper looks like.
Could you possibly spray with a UV shield to protect the sublimation?
You can or most commonly they come with a UV protectant on them.
Hi Angie, you did a utube dtf powder comparison video, I really liked it but can’t find it on utube any more, did u take it down, if not, can I get the title from you to locate it?
I haven't used DTF powder yet actually!
Hello Angie. I absolutely love your channel. I've been pressing my wind spinners, per your info, at 385 for 225 sec. I've seen everywhere else at 385 for 60 secs. I'm wondering if something has changed since you've posted this video. Have you tried to press for a shorter time? Please advise. I don't want to ruin a spinner since they aren't cheap. Your time works great but it get so hot and if I can reduce the time that would be great.
For all sublimation blanks, you should follow the recommendations where you purchase them. Each supplier is different. The ones I used called for that time and temp so that is what I used.
@@AngieHolden Great thanks. I believe the Amazon ones that I got call for your recommendations.
Would you use the same time and heat for a heat press instead of an easy press?
I generally use whatever they recommend where I purchase the blank. And yes the same for both.
Like your videos. On the wind spinner what size was your design when you printed it out for sublimation?
A little over 8 inches.
Angie, could you actually walk us through how to design and print one in some kind of software? Everything I've been researching I can't get them to line up quite right and I'm off a bit. Plus the templates I find aren't quite like my spinners they're missing like one extra ring I've got like 6 outer rings but all the templates that I see show like five or eight or something like that. Just curious how you line it up and print
I didn't line it up at all. I just popped a photo in the center of a design and eye balled it!
Any suggestions on how to send these to the customer? I don't know if they'll be able to fan them out.
I would probably ship flat with a link to a video of you fanning one out. You can host the video on UA-cam for free and give them a QR code or link to access.
Hi great video I was wondering what size did you make your photo for the 8 inch spinners?
I just measured the center and made it about that size.
Since these are likely going to be outdoors, what should be used to protect the spinner and sublimation from rain and sun. I’ve heard sublimation doesn’t hold up well.
The sun is an issue. You can add a UV protective spray over them.
Angie I only have an f170 I got some 8inch spinner blanks will printing the desin out 8.5 by 8.25 work for this size? I saw you said make the design bigger but didnt hear how mcuh larger it needs to be
Yep that will work.
How do these do outside? Do they hold up? Will they get ugly is rained on, etc.
I would recommend a UV sealer to make them last longer.
Can you do this with inkjet and printable paper
No it needs to be sublimation!
Could you use htv or premium vinyl with theese
You could add outdoor vinyl.
Love this idea!! Can you use Cricut infusible if you don't have a sublimation printer?
I was thinking about that also, since I don't have a sublimation printer. I bet it would work just fine. You'd be limited to what's on the sublimation sheets and whatever design you wanted.
Of course!
@@vickiel914 Thanks!
@Angie Holden Thanks! I'm a relative newbie, so didn't want to assume. 😊
Will infusible bond the same?
Question on the photo windspinners that you did Angie what size do you recommend for the photo, I am thinking about 4.75" would that be what you did yours look perfect for the picture.
I just measured the center section on the ones I bought.
@@AngieHolden Thank you Angie I ordered the same spinners from your link, I am switching to a different brand that does not have the protective plastic, these are shipped in a protective bag for each spinner and it comes with heat tape.
Would infusible ink work as well? I don’t have a sublimation printer. Thank you.
Yes it would!
Hi Angie
I’m trying to do a wind spinner with a a background and picture like you have in this video. However you don’t show how you did the picture do you have a video on that?
I’m so stressed, I use canva but am still pretty new with it can you please help!? Thank you
I just put the picture in the center. I did not make it a circle or anything. I showed a bit about the process in this video: ua-cam.com/video/Q6EXBtTOc8w/v-deo.html
Amazon is out of stock on the ones you used. Do you have recommendation for others?
I have not tried other listings but I would say if the reviews are good you should be okay.
What paper did you use to protect your heat press? I used butcher paper and the ink is now on my heat press mat 😢
I use the protective paper from Artesprix.
How do you create the file so your picture is round and fits perfectly in the center of the wind spinner?
You don’t have to. Overhang just will go on your paper.
I love your tutorials!! I have done 4 wind spinners and they all have come out beautifully. I just have a question. How do you do the background and then the picture? I’m using Canva but can’t figure that out. Thank you!!
I just add the background then add the image on top of it.
@@AngieHolden Did you use Canva for this? I don’t see backgrounds to use. Thank you
I did use Canva. The background is a free download from me.
@@AngieHolden oh ok. Thank you so much 😊
Can you use a dtf printer to make wind spinners or just a sublimation printer?
I have not had luck with DTF on hard surfaces. I would do sublimation for this one.
Can you please make a video showing how you did the spinner with the picture in the center? Thank you
I did it similar to this puzzle where I show the Canva screen: ua-cam.com/video/Q6EXBtTOc8w/v-deo.html
@@AngieHolden Thank you!!
I have a question I am using the cricut easy press but what do you lay the spinner on when you press I see you are using a black piece under your spinner
It is an Artesprix heat resistant mat. I feel it works way better than an EasyPress mat for things like this.
Can you tell me the size that you print for the image for subliamtion and what software you use to print it out please
I used Canva and just made it a little larger than my wind spinner.
How can I do a wind spinner using my cricut explorer ? Transfer ink paper?
I would use Infusible Ink.
I want to make some of these but not sure how to make a design with a photo in the middle please advise thanks
I did something similar and showed the Canva steps here: ua-cam.com/video/Q6EXBtTOc8w/v-deo.html
Did you calibrate the sublimation printer with Cricut Design Space before doing the print & cut?
You can however for sublimation you don't really need to cut unless you are doing sublimation on HTV or using something like Easysubli.
@@AngieHolden Thank you!
How do you get the photo to be round for the middle of the spinner?
I didn't make this round. I just put a square photo in the center using Canva.
Please show how you did the photo on canva on the wind spinner
I have several videos on Canva.
What are you using as your protective layer? It looks like wax paper but not sure
Protective paper from Artesprix.
Thank you. Could I also get the link to the mat you sublimate the spinner on
Is protective paper the same as parchment paper?
I am having a problem with the Wind Spinners. The first time doing them I had no issues they came out beautiful. In the last few weeks I have been making them and when I tape the design on and press it, it is coming out showing my tape marks. I am using the heat resistant tape. Do you have any suggestions I could try? I just don't understand why all of a sudden this is happening. It is very frustrating. Thank you!
My guess would be either your blanks or too much pressure. You can try an adhesive spray instead so there are no marks.
Thank you
My printer only does 8 1/2 x 11. My spinners are 10 inches. Is there anything I can do?
You would have to piece together the prints. I am working very hard on a video that I hope to have done next week.
how did you print an 8 inch wind spinner on a epson printer on a letter size paper, mine prints to small
you should be able to print 8 inches! Try checking your settings and make sure you print actual size or 100%.
Could I put the picture over the print or how do I do that
Yea. I just laid it over in canva and printed.
Can you flatten a wind spinner after you opened it
I have not tried. Sorry.
Hi Angie...is 385 degrees for 3 mins 45 seconds correct? I noticed your press showed 385 for 2 mins 25 seconds. TIA
It actually showed 225 seconds which is 3 minutes and 45 seconds. The EasyPress only shows seconds.
do you have a template for the spinner?
No. I just printed to cover the entire thing.
So i understand that you print your pattern out thru Canva. But dont you have to have sublimation ink and what kind of printer? Not sure how all that works?
This is sublimation ink printed on sublimation paper on a sublimation printer.
Is the heat resistant paper parchment paper?
I use protective paper from Artesprix.
Is it possible to print a png file for a 10 inch windspinner using 8.5 by 11 inch or 8.5 by 14 inch sublimination paper?
You would have to join two prints together.
I don’t have the funds to get a sublimation printer. Am I able to pre- order prints and make them?
Yep! I started by ordering custom prints from an Etsy seller who would print and send them to me.
What size did you print the photo for the middle
I just measured the center of my wind spinner and make it about that size.
how do you do the photo in the middle of the background for someone who is not so tech savy
I just added to Canva and resized/moved it around.
Where do you get your blanks
Amazon! I linked to them in the description below the video.
Is there a way to do this without sublimation, I don’t have access to that
You can likely do this with infusable ink or sublimation transfers. Just not as personalizable.
You could use Infusible Ink or even sublimation paint/stamp pads.
