    Interesting video! I’ve ridden 50+ slips here in the USA and Canada. Same method, but very different equipment from what you do are using for elevator cores. Who do you rent the slip yokes, jacks, etc from?

      That job the company owns it (JRL Group). They prepare everything off site and assembly is really quick without 'long' carpentry works. How's working in Canada and US ?

    Greg, how are you guys transferring datum’s up your cores for the slip? I’ve just been using steel tape for the jump form I’m on at the moment, only 7 levels so not massive. But interested to see how you do it for much taller elements. Seen some guys say these use vertical lazers.

    • @SITENG
      @SITENG  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Joseph! It's a steel tape too, but also the lasers. Slipforms on the video using the laser and shows the level all the time. I did not the ones with the laser myself, but has to be nice 😁

    Hi Greg, could you please tell me what ( upstands) are.

    • @SITENG
      @SITENG  3 роки тому

      Hi Abiton! the easiest way I would say it's 'small wall' few hundred mm high eg.150mm. It is used for example to 'hold' the screed and poured to the finish level height. Also used to sit something on top (windows etc) where you need structural concrete - in this case called plinths, plinth wall as well.

    • @SITENG

      Can't remember now TBH, but in terms of height is was often ar. 2m - I don't have the walls section area to tell you, but these were small slips. I worked before on Nova slip and couple of weeks on 100BG (the biggest one that time 😁)before I took over the basement. This one wasn't operating 24h, but there are slips like that 😁

    How slab reinforcement joined with slip form wall ??

    • @SITENG
      @SITENG  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! It's there on the vid. Kwikastip is used (continuity strip/contibar - pull out bars). After the decking is ready this is first job to do - pull out the bars + do the final check if anything is missing as there might be some drill&fix needed. Then pull out bars are spliced with slab rebar. Rebar is connected and the small recess after taking rebar out in the kwikastrip quarantees good connection in terms of shear force.

      on the climbing tube, then whatever you need on the rebar - using electric tape.

    • @SITENG
      @SITENG  Рік тому +2

      Typically there is a good steel tape inside the core to refer to it. If you mean the tape measure that's the one you'll be using almost all the time as you will be measuring off your datums - marks on the rebar etc. Slipform is a tape measure job and it's well enough. BTW tape measure is our best friend and I have impression people want to measure every simple thing using the EDM - whatever can be checked/measured with the tape should be done with the tape :)
