One of the live entertainment offerings in Carkitt Market at Diagon Alley in Universal Orlando is the Singing Sorceress, Celestina Warbeck, backed up by the Banshees performing jazzy Harry Potter-inspired songs.
WOW!!!!!!!! WHAT A WAY TO STEP IT UP UNIVERSAL!!!!! The Show by Celestina Warbeck brings a whole new level of quality in terms of cast and music, the songs (both lyrics and orchestration) are much better than any other permanent show I've seen in the park.
Merlin's beard, Mrs. Weasley got one hell of a music taste.
They should have The Weird Sisters from Goblet of Fire play here too! But Celestina and the girls are so good! :)
Weird Sisters constitutes rock (either metal as movie 4 or old school rock-n-roll as said by the Choc.Frog cards)
I actually imagined Celestina's songs to be annoying when I read the books. This is catchy.

I got the Feeling Mrs. Weasley was the only one that liked them. Not that Fleur was the only one that hated them.
NDW Celestina is considered "oldies" music (in terms of Muggle approximation, kinda like the jazz & R&B age with the stage theatricals; think "Victor Victoria"), that's why Molly is a fan (albeit poor; she hasn't watched a live perf. d/t the fact the tickets cost a lot, both in legit. & black market prices...dunno why no one of her children has taken her to one, what with their careers post WW(Wizrading War)II)
The younger generation (Harry et al) enjoys the Weird Sisters which are depicted 2 ways:
-movie 4: heavy metal rock
-Choc.Frog cards info: mix of old-school rock n' roll (Springsteen et.al) with traditional Old World instrumentation (cello, bagpipes, lute)
God forbid Rowling invent a singer for the next generation (Albus Severus et al) someone approximating JB...I'd rather pierce my eardrums by then! *que horror*
NDW I thought that too! But I love these songs! Not something I'd want to listen to all the time, but still, they're quite nice and catchy.

Previously I always imagined Celestina Warbeck being similar to Celine Dion. The song titles in the books sounded like something she would sing. Like, powerful cinematic vocals, the kind that talk about love and belong at the end credits of movies. Ah well, I can get used to this.

LadyDecember I saw this show today and they brought my dad up....
I wish they had featured these in the movies. I love this cabaret, jazz style music so much. This was amazing. It really brought the series I love to life.
I cant see it being in the harry potter films as it clashes with the atomosphere, but I can TOTALLY see them featuring this music in an upcoming Fantastic Beasts!! It fits perfectly with the time period.
This was probably my favorite part of Diagon Alley, if not the whole park. I had a lot of fun but I didn't care to repeat too many things, but I saw Celestina about 4 or 5 times. lol

OMG, one of the Banshees was a slytherin student on the frog choir!!! I loved her with her attitude on that performance and also in this one!!

Is the blonde one, I showed this video to my parents and sister and they all recognized her and also compared some pictures (she actually even posed for me during the choir performance, very "slytherin-like"!). Well, maybe she has a twin sister just as talented as she hahaha

I agree, but I can see why there could be problems. One: singles are usually on iTunes and not sold on CD. Two: since doing a single may be out of the question they'd probably have to try and write more songs. And lastly, since they switch out performers they would (should) do CDs from each performer year. For example there is a live action Sailor Moon musical called SeraMyu. And they have 'graduation' ceremonies when they get a new sailor actress as the old one leaves once giving them their transformation pen. Anyways so they have various songs for each 'cast year'.
pegususpheonix Not necessarily; finding Nemo has about 200 people trained to do that show, and they actually did release a cast recording for it. I think it was Robert and Kristin Andersen Lopez and then some other singers, I think John Tartaglia might've been Annette, I know Stephanie D'Abruzzo was.

Shes too good to be singing in a theme park
This was a great show! My family really enjoyed this show. It add a great experience at the park that was missing, compared to Disney. We enjoyed the fact that the cast had mixed races and represented our global world make-up. There can be more diversity in the cast, but thank you for at least taking the courage to have a diverse cast. It's shows that their is talent in every race and a diverse cast can be a great experience and make your diverse guests at Universal feel great as well.
Know what I would love to see? I would love to see Julie Walters (dressed as Mrs. Weasley) join them for a song.
i really fucking hope these songs get released on itunes or something, because this was one of my favorite parts of the park. celestina is badass and her banshees are so friggin cute

I don't know about you but all these makes Harry's world even more real and I will never ever be able to get over how important his world will always be for me.

I'm watching this because I saw them live today and I was in the front and kept smiling and bouncing and Celestina smiled and waved at me as well as one of the banshees and I love them all so much

well, there's the tale of three brothers puppet show... so that makes it two, just like the two there are on hogsmeade. But yeah, is DEFINATELY not enough, I WANT MORE!!! There'll never be enough!!

This would actually have been way cooler if they gave them special effects and cool lighting going on but she does a damn good job without it but we need to see magic.
Gonk I agree that'd be cool, but not realistic with the stage they use for wizarding shows, also it would be distracting

"You Stole My Cauldron" in Pottermore is simply fab, and from the looks of it, I think they'd release a soundtrack since they released a track on Pottermore.
I grew up registering the name of 'Celestina Warbeck' being a real person. I didn't read the Harry Potter books until a few months ago (in high school when writing this) and I thought it was just a head cannon that she was a witch. I have no idea why I thought any of this. My brothers got me into Harry Potter when I was little so I blame them! lol

We have pretty unpredictable autumns here in Florida, actually. One day it'll be hot, then a cold front comes down and makes it cold af for 3 days lol. But it does look to be winter during a moderate time
been five years since this was posted, i went to universal for my first time ever last month and saw this act perform during my small time in diagon (we were on a time crunch :c) what i’m most shocked by though is that either they have some killer makeup or celestina and the blonde backup looked IDENTICAL to what i saw. i mean feature for feature, height for height.
EDIT: shit i’m a dumbass, they totally go in shifts or something and this just happens to be the one i saw. lol i’m dumb 😂

Please, please, please, can you guys do this recording and put it on iTunes? I know it takes a lot of money to make a CD (my initial preference), but I would buy them all. Seriously. If there are any unperformed songs, I'd buy them too. Not only is this the type of music I listen to (I recognized the melody from "Witchcraft", I believe), but it is in a world and a style and an everything that I love. Please! Please please please!!!
I spoke with the stage manager for this show at Diagon Alley yesterday and he said that they can't release the music for purchase because of the licensing agreement with JKR.
