Interesting that most of the white you caught were solo and a good bit higher in the water column. The blacks seemed to be in pairs or multiples deeper in the column. The blacks in post spawn outnumbered the whites carrying eggs.

Man, that was excellent analysis!! I would say that most Mississippi lakes have more white crappie than black crappie. It used to be like that on Lake Caroline. Now it is about 80-90% black crappie. Seems like the white crappie spawn a little later, like you pointed out. Also, in my opinion, the white crappie are generally easier to catch. All anecdotal, and not factual. Just my opinions! I appreciate you!!! Tight lines!

When your cutting the tail are you just trying to make the tail a smaller profile?
Hey, I sure appreciate you brother! I am decreasing the action by trimming it. It's kind of like a Ned rig for bass. When you see bait fish, their tails are generally are pretty still, or slight movement. I really think it can make a difference. When the fish are aggressive, I like the full tail, or the 2.5 inch size. Tight lines!!!

I think I understand you fish in Mississippi but is it always the same lake, or different lakes just curious where ya get all of those big black crappie
Usually, on Lake Caroline. 850 acres outside Jackson. 80% black crappie. I am going to do a video at Ross Barnett Reservoir sometime soon. It is mostly white crsppie. Tight lines!!
