      LOL, good to know! I’ve been trying to slow things down because when you’re familiar with something, it’s easy to speed through it, and then everyone’s like, “Wait, what’s happening?” haha.

      I don’t control the ads-they’re displayed based on how many ads you’ve already consumed throughout the day. I had to look this up before because one of my accounts was getting nonstop ads, while another has none at times, even when watching the same channels. I’m sorry.

    Hey great content! I'm subbed! Could you make a video on a general store vs a niche store please!?

    • @EtsyMentor
      @EtsyMentor  2 місяці тому

      Thanks for subscribing! Regarding your question, I don’t recommend having a general store. I focus heavily on niche-specific shops and cover this in many of my videos.
      Here’s one you might find interesting: ua-cam.com/video/wxz_4MU5UdM/v-deo.html. This video features stores generating over a million in revenue; none of which at the time were general stores. However, one of them transitioned to a general format a few months after I made the video, and their sales dropped significantly because of it.

    When you double down do you use the same SEO for titles and tags? The only change is the design?

    • @EtsyMentor
      @EtsyMentor  2 місяці тому

      No, each one is adjusted based on the design. I might keep the main SEO elements (like what the item is), but I update the overall SEO to match the specific item for better search visibility.

    • @EtsyMentor

      I purchased that font and uploaded it to Kittl. I actually buy most of my fonts to ensure they’re unique. It also makes it much harder for people to copy.

    Thank you, very helpful. But a little confused, so when doubling g down we need to also put the design and it's variations on other products or not? Got confused when you started doing the mockups thing.

    • @EtsyMentor
      @EtsyMentor  2 місяці тому

      Sorry for any confusion! The mockup part of the video was just me testing to see if the design would work for specific products. Since I run multiple stores, this feature helps me quickly determine if I can add the design to other stores. Before Kittl and this feature, I’d have to search and add it to a mockup to check manually, but this makes it fast and easy.

    Hi - how long do you recommend leaving a product up w/no sales before taking it down? I've got stuff that's a year+ old that's never sold. Probably time to say goodbye?

    • @EtsyMentor
      @EtsyMentor  2 місяці тому +2

      I recommend analyzing data over 30, 60 and 90 days. I typically look at metrics like views, favorites, purchases, and any messages related to the item.
      It’s also crucial that your SEO is well-optimized for this process. Without proper SEO, your items won’t get enough visibility, which can distort your data and make it unclear whether the issue is with the design or the SEO.
      One more tip-never delete an item. Always archive it instead. Trends can resurface months or even years later, and having that item ready to go could be a big advantage.

    Great video, thanks! You mention you have several Etsy shops. Have you had any trouble when starting a new one? I have tried to open a second shop, but been immediately suspended by Etsy with no explanation than "violated their policies", when I did nothing wrong. It is totally impossible to get an answer from them, since all messages seem to come from a bot. I have seen tons of people with the same issue here on YT. Could you address that a little bit? I mean if there is something special to think about, or something I should inform Etsy about before opening a second (and third and so on) shop?
    And I am not talking about the Etsy policies here. I KNOW I didn't violate any of them.)

    • @EtsyMentor
      @EtsyMentor  2 місяці тому +1

      Recently, Etsy has started suspending shops until all information, like banking details and identity verification, is completed. I’m not sure why they’ve implemented this, but it’s often the reason new shops get shut down. I’d recommend checking your details, updating them if needed, and then filing an appeal to let them know you’ve resolved the issue.

    how many sales does it take to be classed as a best seller would you say George?

    • @EtsyMentor
      @EtsyMentor  2 місяці тому +1

      Etsy determines this based on the number of sales in a short period, similar to their "popular" selection. Personally, I look for consistent weekly sales to consider a design successful. If an item goes months without selling, I’d rather remove it to make space for higher-performing products. That’s just my approach.
