Very Cool! In the future, could you guys possibly consider adding a spectrum analyzer, correlation meter, and loudness meter that uses multiple formats including LUFFS? That, an EQ, and maybe the ability to rearrange the order of plugins in the suite would make this perfect. Great job though, can’t wait to check this out!
Yeah without a loudness meter or having a proper A/B comparison function for reference tracks - this doesnt really make much sense.
I dunno - is there an a3u version of a loudness meter?

I thought this was another good explanation and demo, of what’s turning out to be an accomplished and capable DAW, so thanks for that. To address the money side, I can’t see how Steinberg can support and give such a sophisticated/complex application an assured future, if it doesn’t charge now and again by some means. Plus, having had Cub 2 for some time, I bought into Cub 3 at the 2020 black Friday sales sort of time, so the entire thing, and the full suite of in-app purchases I got, were all half-price. But, it would simply have taken me longer to get it, were it not discounted recently.
I appreciate due to the timescales, I have the benefit of hindsight and development time advancing somewhat, and as I type, we are one day from the Dec 21st release of version 3.2 of Cub 3. Steinberg’s team have been working on Audio Unit improvements in stability and processor/Digital Signal efficiencies, to enable more plugins to run simultaneously, according to the blurb. This is a very important DAW in iOS/iPadOS, and I just want it to go from strength to strength, which really, it is. Perhaps it just needed time to build up a head of steam?
I have the Cubasis 2 still, but I cannot see a reason to go back to it. Lastly, we always have to bear in mind, the mobile device arena (so-called...it’s a special occasion indeed if my ipad Pro 2 leaves the safety of the house!), comes with certain scarcities of resource. It’s often in your face every time you get a bit ambitious, and a crackle or sometimes with GB a crash, reminds you a full orchestra may not fit comfortably into this project! I cut my cloth here, having jumped from Cubase on my venerable tower PC, and other DAWs too, to sidestep technical complexities on that platform.
If the new Apple silicon has told us anything (again I am writing in Dec 2020 after Apple’s big M1 reveal, with hindsight here, it’s not that commenters did not know what they were about), it is that this mobile computing architecture, is suddenly the vastly more likely direction of travel in terms of power use in future. That was a surprise to me, but probably not entirely to industry insiders and programmers. Happily, it means a bright, fast and smooth future for the apps at the heavy side of CPU etc usage, like music synthesis an video processing etc.
Seeing as how Final Touch (which i only got a month ago) doesn’t really work well with Cubasis this will come in handy.

Ah, really generous for Steinberg to include this mastering strip. I think I’m getting this app now. But is there a good meter included? Loudness is useless if you don’t see the peak/ LUFS. Thanks!
Thank you for amazing explanations and videos. I bought spire studio, then realised isotope don’t let you use the mic in any other software or midi... then tried NanoStudio and they don’t let you record audio... then audio evolution and it’s just not very good. Finally I tried cubasis 3 (I had been put off by my experience with cubase sx years ago with the irritation of using a dongle ) but they’ve done a great job with this. Finally I can escape the sluggish and dumbed down garageband for a really functional and quick daw on my phone!

I’ve got nanostudio 2 and fl studio and this..fl studio is decent but when you use cubasis 3 and then go back to fl studio it’s big difference

I love this app. I have working with Cubase since 2003. However something is sorely missing with the amp simulation in Cubasis..tight punchy rock and metal tones..They are not usable. Maybe have some people like myself that have an ear and passion for great guitar tones help you dial those sounds in.
Or maybe have one that has a tone capture feature.
Is it a In-App purchase.
This was great, I just got cubasis 3 and I'm enjoying it a lot, but I'm lost some times and the help PDF is very limited in explaining how to use all this plug ins, I would appreciate more hands on tutorials like this that teach from scratch with demonstration how to put to good use all those tools we have in cubasis.
PS: I'm really digging your presenter he seems like a very chill dude.

Is it possible to use other synths with cubasis on Android tablet, like on iPad ?
How would you know if volume is good for today’s standards (YT/ Apple music/ Spotify)? I purchased Cubasis 3 app for my iPad but I don’t see any mastering LOUDNESS meter included. Am I missing any or mixdown loudness is a matter of trial and error? Thanks!
There really should be a meter. If you want a limiter with a meter check out fabfilter L2, its great, probably the best limiter on iPad. That goes for all fabfilter pluggins actually

Hi Aitzol, Cubasis projects can be loaded with Cubase via the free downloadable Cubasis Project Importer (steinberg.net/cubasisimporter). It is not possible to sync Cubasis with Cubase. What do you mean by "do we have to pay updates for live?"?

I have Cubasis 3 .2 and have gone to check out the master strip but there really is no such thing anywhere in internal affects, So where is this plug-in?

Hi KevSalRosie, You have to download and install the latest available Cubasis 3.1 update, which has been released this morning. It might take a while until the update becomes available in the App Store in some countries. Once 3.1 is installed, you will find the Master Strip Plug-in Suite in the internal effects list.

This is a good upgrade, but it really doesn’t replace some of the other mastering apps that I have already bought.
Hi George, Thanks for your message. The Master Strip is a pro-grade suite of effects, intended to make tracks and projects sound excellent via a few taps. It is not meant to replace a full mastering app, which of course has lots of additional tools and options, not comparable to what we have here, a Master Strip.
I don´t see myself producing in an Android device. Not without my favorite synths, sorry.

Hi Shahrokh, Cubasis 3.1 is the third Cubasis 3 update where we address many user-reported issues, next to adding new features, which come free for existing customers. As mentioned in the Cubasis forum (www.steinberg.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=300&t=184027), Apple does not offer update/upgrade option similar to the desktop world. We try our best to keep our Cubasis customers happy, and did the same in the past with +30 free Cubasis 1 and Cubasis 2 updates. We hope you will enjoy using the new update!
