All that sort of demonic laughing used to scare the heck our of me as a 5 year old child. I still remember the words to the song and the tune. ...60 years later !!! My husband and I googled this song and played it. My husband laughed, not because the record was so great, but because I nailed it and remembered the song perfectly. Something about that record stays with you for life.
The first record my mother bought for me 60 years ago. To this day, I have never forgotten this happy song. Thank you so much for sharing this gem! I will share it with my grand children.
LOL!! Thank you so much for posting this!! I've been looking for it forever.I played that record every day as a kid! it's even weirder when you slow it down! I have a bunch of other ones too, but no turn table. Thanks again. You ROCK!

That's so funny, because I felt the same way as a little kid. I was just telling my husband about this "scary" record I had as a kid and can still remember the refrain. We googled it and lo and behold, there it was in all it's still kind of scary glory.. My husband thought it hilarious.....I never forgot this record, even 60 some years later.
@4sythmom Hey there...I just checked...Yankee Doodle is on the back of this record. I think there are listings on the Internet for Voco Records. You might want to check there. Very Glad this brought back good memories for you!!! I'll try to post some more down the road.
@EelKat & @RaymondTVinyl My grandparents have sung this to us our whole lives. The other song they always sang was about a girl named Ukulele who received a doll from a captain. The song talks about the doll and then she puts her to bed. I've searched the internet and can't find the song anywhere. Not even the lyrics in text. My grandparents have always thought it was on the reverse side of laugh laugh phonograph. Can you tell me if this is true or if you have any info about that song?
I have this on ared vinyl disc with picture label, dated 1949, same vocal, well worn because it has been played on a mechanical machine with steel needles. Yankee Doodle is on the flip side by the way.

This was the first record we owned. It was probably about 1949. My sisters and I would always sing the lyrics.
