    The hiss is there but not that bad as shown in the video.
    Possibly will be heard during recording while micing the cab.
    Haven’t tried that

      @marekgliniecki  Рік тому +1

      It is that bad in all units

    • @puffybuns2311

      @@marekgliniecki Actually if you keep the level really low and crank the amp up.
      You can use it almost like an attenuator and in that the hiss not that bad.
      Try it.

      @@marekgliniecki if you trying to use it like a boost pedal yes its gonna disappoint you because it was not intended for that purpose.
      But nice mod and video.

    Which op-amp did you choose for the Mod? I chose MUSES 8920D for my GE-7 and I also swapped three capacitors to WIMA film capacitors. If BOSS choose better op-amp, this pedal will be better. (Better means better sound with short battery life)

    Amazing noise floor difference! I want to mod mine/change the chips like you did. Can you share what chips you put in yours? Thanks, Sean

    Eddy Van Halen would have loved this EQ,, sell a new design to MXR!! They need this. I bought a EQ and took it back because it was to noisy. Now I use xotic super sweet and EP booster

    I can't believe Boss is still selling them with those noisy cheapo ICs. Wouldn't cost so much more to put decent ones in there, would it?

      No, but maybe they would suggest to buy a BOSS NS-2 ;)

  • @MRxr400

    if they come out that bad from factory, i'll look at other brands. that sucks. very clear difference.

    • @marekgliniecki
      @marekgliniecki  3 роки тому +1

      But that is what makes them work longer with battery. A simple trade-off. I would go with upgraded boss- best you can get.

    Does the hiss only occur when the amp is cranked? Such a well known pedal! Does it hiss at low/home amp volume?

    • @troopin
      @troopin 4 роки тому

      theres nothing wrong with his amp. all ge-7's do this, add noise even if you CUT. modding involves installing lower noise ic's

    Is it the chips, or do the caps have better filtering off the high end?
