Other great interpretations include Eartha Kitt, but only a recording from the album "Beautiful but Bad" or Pearl Bailey. Besides, there are other famous singers who have even bigger problems with pronunciation, like Minnelli, who just lisps in my opinion, but that doesn't change the fact that I like her. Shouldn't the version about the composer's actual life and lifestyle be sang in the style he wrote it in? I love eartha kitts version. I don't think it would have made sense for this movie
Nope. Doesn't do it for me. The lyrics of the song are actually dark in and of itself. To me, Vivian Green gave the appropriate depth and emotion to it. No offence, but Eartha Kitt's rendition made the song's lyrics sound tawdry and cheap.
