This rendition is, by far, the most beautiful I have heard. Like everyone else, I, too, am moved to tears every time I hear it or watch the movie. Great job Kevin Kline.
I cried during the movie. This is the most heartfelt thing I've ever seen.
I've never really been a fan of Broadway, had no idea who Cole Porter was, and I was dragged to this movie. I loved it! And this has become one of my favorite songs of all time.

I cry so much at 2:34 when he says "Til I die". The way he sings it has so much emotion and just makes me miss someone very special so much.
So sweet and tender this masterpiece of refined Cole Porter. I also loved Kline's vertion making me cry everytime I saw the picture. Thank you so much.

What a performance. what music, Kevin Kline gave the performance of a lifetime. cole porter did not have a good voice. Neither does Kline but his singing is full of what an audience wants to hear. Emotion. He feels what he is singing. Cole Porter am sure, wherever he is ....can be proud of this story of his life, that was so fulfilling.After seeing the movie De-Lovely I bought it to have it handy whenever I want to see a good movie filled with emotion and love.

Fantastic film...I've watched it many times. And just like some other fans here, this wonderful song, sung by KK always makes me cry. 😥
I felt really touched with the plot and Kline's portraying. I'm sure this song became one of the saddest of life, despite all that, Porter loved Linda in his own way.
It's amazing how a classy actor like Kevin Kline ended up on Bob's burgers.

funny thing is that even though kevin kline's singing voice isn't the most perfectly suited for it or the most professional sounding, i feel like out of all the versions i've heard he sings it the best.. his phrasing and emotional interpretation are so raw and i feel like he captures the heart and the unbearable longing behind the song better than any of the 'professional' singers who have tried to tackle this song... that's in my not so humble opinion.
One of the most beautiful songs along with Begin the Beguine. I watched this movie so many times, I know every song on the soundtrack. My opinion, best acting in Kevin Kline's career!

I was very touched the first time I saw this film. My mum RIP was singing along to songs I knew nothing about but it was such a great film and the songs were great. Very good memories for me this film...but also sad at the same time.

I cry every time ...
I tried to convince myself not to cry, when this song came. It was so embarassing I wept like I had never wept before. De-lovely spoke about love so strongly.
Now when I listen to the song I feel so silly for crying.

2:33-2:40 gets me every time.
Kevin Kline's voice isn't so great, but every time I hear him singing a song, (Like on that Movie set in France with Meg Ryan -- what's it called?) I think he does well enough for me to believe he's the character.
This version has truly ruined the other versions for me. It brings me to tears every time I hear it. Every. Time. I wish this video had a few more seconds though, I love to see the standing ovation. Kevin Kline and Ashley Judd were just spectacular in this. I don't know why it didn't fare better.

@DIZZYBEATSMITH cole porter didn't have a great singing voice, which is why kevin kline sang that way (maybe too well). his voice is actually quite good! check him out in pirates of penzance. i totally agree with how well he performed this though :)

The one on the cd is way better...it sounds like the words...mysterious. The vocalist are much better (and well trained). I heard the soundtrack to this movie before I saw it. I have the music and it is an excellent soundtrack. I was looking for the movie soundtrack version of this here on UA-cam...I wish someone would post it with lyrics. Now if you watch this @ 1:55 you will get a little taste of the Soundtrack version, it's that man and lady singing it.
Damn...WHO is the actor and singer singing this with the lady on the stage in this film? That man is freaking FINE!!!! Does anyone know who he is? Hit me up and tell me his name...at the end of this video is a good look at his fine self. Damn.

Cole Porter was not much of a singer himself. If you've ever heard him sing. (And you can, on some Cole Porter sites.) Both he and Kline sound just as bad.
