  • This medley of two traditional pieces was created in celebration of Saint Patrick's Day and Irish heritage in the United States. The first is an old Irish song from the Civil War era when many Irish immigrants fresh off the boat from famine-ravaged Ireland were conscripted into the Union Army. It reflects the frustration of many Irish immigrants who were asked to fight for a country in which they had just arrived. The second one is an old east Kentucky fiddle tune called Glory in the Meetinghouse which may have found its way into the region by way of Ulster Scots/Scots Irish settlers.

Hey Elijah my writing partner and I are working on a Podcast called "Undertold: Stories of the American Civil War" one of our episodes is about the Irish units in both the north and south. We are wanting to close out the episode with Paddy's Lamentation and would like to chat with you about using your performance of the song.
