There's a sound from a band we listen to that we've tried to emulate a bunch and I (the guy that makes the sounds in the band) can't seem to nail it! Its called Last Garrison by Enter Shikari, the screech is obvious when you hear it!
Hey, I would LOVE to hear a re-creation of spag heddy´s signature bass growl (he used it more frequently in his older songs you´ll know it when you hear it). No one else in the industry has the formula for that spicy sound and i haven´t seen a tutorial yet that comes even close to his sound!

There were some things I thought could be different in your result, so I had a go myself at making this bass. I used 2 squares, as the original doesn't buzz, and of course sines do, even if you filter them. You also missed the fact that the fundamental is a D, not F sharp, so the bass actually plays the D, while the FM makes the third. I love that distortion trick. I'll need to remember that.
