It has been really helpful isolating problem areas. Our split level home has several rooms and a crawl space on the lower level. Had a fan installed when we moved in but turns out we still had problems in the front crawl space.
Thanks for the great video. I'm I am in Canada and purchased the ecqube and can't wait to get it in. I have always been concerned about Radon Gas but never tested for it. This unit will at least give me either a good or bad reading either way I will ha e it mitigated.
No maintenance that I'm aware of. You may want to do an occasional side-by-side comparison test to ensure the monitor's accuracy doesn't drift over the years. Mine is several years old and still reads very close to my other monitors.
We bought one a few weeks ago and like it. Question: we have had ours placed in the living area of our finished basement. We have a fairly accurate assessment of an average for that area with 14 days of readings. Now I'd like to move it to other spaces like the utility area of our basement, our living room and perhaps the second floor. Is there any way to annotate what space the readings were taken in on the app and if not, what is a good technique for data management so we know over time where the radon levels are in each area of our home? We can't afford to buy three of these.
Hey, Jesse! Love your vids. I’ve had the EcoCube since April and love it. At my home in western NC, after mitigation, levels have been between 0.4 and 2.5 - even after we had 7” of rain in 48 hours a couple weeks ago. But last night, 24hours after the remnants of TS Ian passed by with some +\- 15mph winds and 1” of rain, levels shot up to 5 (EcoCube’s audible alarm woke me up and I opened up some windows at 3am). My question is, is it normal/ok for levels to increase like this once in a while? Or would you say this would warrant further investigation? Thanks again for informing the public about radon.
Thanks for the compliment, Danny. My guess is that you may not have full pressure field extension below your home, so during certain weather conditions, the suction below your home is lost in some areas allowing radon to enter. You'll have to decide what level of radon you are comfortable with, but if it is a rare occurrence, I would leave it alone.
Could someone please tell me how to change the daily clock from the factory 24 hour setting to the 12 hour setting? I’ve searched quite a bit and found nothing.
@@AmericanRadonMitigation I DID contact them. At first they said I was mistaken, that this model NEVER HAD 12 hour display. This shows how poor their technical support is. After submitting several pictures of the Amazon item being sold, PLUS Pictures from THEIR website, they finally did some digging and came up with this. There had been a recent app update that changed the settings to 24 hours and there was no settings to choose 12 hours. They told me that there might be an app update someday that would give the choice of 12 or 24 hours. I’m not holding my breath. I sent the unit back for a refund. Horrible horrible customer service!!!
Hey Jesse, thanks for the great video. We just got an ecocube and we placed it in the basement where our radon level was the highest. We installed a mediation system earlier this week in the basement. Is it safe to place the ecocube in our living room? It might sound like a silly question but I am pregnant and we are about to have a new born and I just want to be sure that placing the cube (with its ionization chamber detection system) is safe at close proximity for a family? (Bedroom or Living room)?
The EcoQube inlet doesn't contact the surface it is sitting on as it sits slightly higher than the bottom of the unit. The Ecoqube I have is pretty consistent when compared to other radon monitors.
@@AmericanRadonMitigation Yeah I noticed the pad/foot is slightly higher millimeters maybe but just seems odd that it would be designed like that with an extremely small area for air to reach the vent. Oh well if it reads accurately that's all that matters lol.
So it's averaging about 1.5 pCi/l higher than the Radon Eye. I can plug your numbers into our quality control spreadsheet to see if they are out of control. What's the average of each device over the same period of time in the same location (4 inches apart)?
Your results are within the warning level but not outside of the control limit. You may want to compare the results of a longer measurement or compare them against another monitor or an EPA-approved test kit.
I'm guessing it's on the bottom to reduce the chance of dust getting inside the unit. It's about a 32nd of an inch off the bottom of whatever you set it on, and doesn't seem to be an issue with measuring radon.
Just ordered one . Thx for the video
You're welcome!

@@AmericanRadonMitigation how long is the cord for eco-cube and radon eye?
Another informative video Jesse ! Keep it up. Congrats on 1k !

Do you have to do maintenance on it? Any filter that needs changing or anything else?

You can export the data by clicking on the data button in the upper right portion of the screen. I believe that would allow you to organize your data.

What is a blinking red light indicative of on an ecocube?
I believe it is a wifi connection issue. cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0106/9911/2511/files/EN_Wifi-troubleshooting-translations.pdf?v=1644877259
Do you have to buy a membership or subscription or do you just pay for the device and download the app for free?
Good question, Tracey. It's a one-time purchase for the device. The app is free, and there's no subscription fee.
Could someone please tell me how to change the daily clock from the factory 24 hour setting to the 12 hour setting? I’ve searched quite a bit and found nothing.
I'd try contacting Ecosense about that question.

Following up on this question. Have you heard back from Ecosence?
If you bring various other items out of your basement upstairs into the main living area, I can't see how it would be different.
The ecocube air inlet is on the bottom if you sit it on a hard surface does it get necessary air to get a good reading?

Ive tested it against the radon eye it seems the ecocube reads higher 50-70 bq

Why is the air inlet on the bottom of the unit? And it’s so close to the surface I don’t see how it can read the air?
