Having had been a skydiver from the age of 16 to 37 yrs old , Now 57 , sitting on a wing of a plane , no big deal. But skydiving with no shoes on your feet,no way would I have been that stupid. By the way a car accident ended my love of skydiving. A 16yr.old moron with a lerner's permit decided to drive high n drunk. And so was his lovely mother passed out drunk n high in the back seat of their car. I never broke a nail skydiving but a car accident broke my knee, pelvis n ankle. Never to run or walk normally again.

Im so sorry to hear that you're going thru such pain. Even tho it was completely preventable, & senseless, I still sometimes wonder if these trials are t just happenstance. It makes me feel better to think that my injuries, scars, surgeries,etc.. have actually happened for a reason, I just dont know what that reason is yet.
But since you are experienced I have a question: first thing I thought when I saw this man on the plane wing is that the plane is moving hundreds of miles per hour. So why wasn't he immediately blown off of that wing by the wind?
@@SunshineMine369Doesn't look real, from my experience, only a total idiot would try to land on your two feet with no shoes or boots or high top sneakers to protect the ankles.(I was a RN) (MY bodies heath) was important to me. And I made sure to always take care n to protect myself from possible injuries that could occur from doing what I loved to do. (Example: you don't water ski without a life jacket on)I was holding on to a strut of the wing and close to the body of the jump plane. But sitting on a wing is possible. Easier on a Bi plane ,with a open cockpit. I did that ,of course with a parachute rig on my back. Also if the plane was turned on a angle slightly to the right, for a short time, you can feel like you are in calmer air, but in reality you are not. Your ears tell you,wind is rushing around you.As to what I have learned from 21yrs of pain? patience and slowing down to enjoy the good things in life, taking time,to enjoy the smaller moments that are meaningful .And the act of seeing and recognizing the meaningful moments, instead of blazing thru life at 100mph. Metaphorically speaking. My 2nd cousin was part owner of a jump school and he was a pilot. After watching this a few times , my gut reaction is, trick photography.

@@dabneyoffermein595 Airplane wings can take a lot of force, that's what they're designed to do. Look up what airliners go through in testing. WW2 pilots would step up on the wings of their aircraft in order to get in and out of them all the time in the field. In the air circus there were folks called wing walkers who performed balancing act stunts by literally walking out onto the wings of aircraft while in flight. If they were so fragile they wouldn't be able to fly, they have to be able to withstand the forces being applied to them on a regular basis so a guy who probably weighs 200lbs at most isn't going to do any harm to the airframe or the wing whatsoever.

it's not a plane, it's a Polish SZD-9 Bocian glider, it flies at a speed of 90 km/h and parachute jumps are not something extraordinary, but they look spectacular, for this purpose the rear fairing is removed, great video, best regards

Interesting fact: this is not even an aeroplane. It's a sailplane and it looks like a SZD 9 Bocian E to be precise. We use those all across Poland when training for a sailplane pilot license. This plane was developed in the '50s so it's WAY older than the skydiver that jumped from it. And it's made of wood :-)

The pilot slows to near-stall to benefit the jumper. In pushing off the wing it's possible to _momentarily_ go faster than the plane. His horizontal acceleration was only a few feet - sufficient to clear the wing.

I've been skydiving before and watching this made my palms sweaty. Jumping out is one thing, climbing right out onto the wing and sitting is quite another...
So have I, from small planes, and crawling out of the plane, standing on the landing wheel (locked) while swinging out hanging just from the stick that stabilizes the wing was how we made sure we exiting clean from the plane.
But did it make your knees weak or arms heavy ?

Small planes can sustain flight at pretty low speeds.
probably a turbo prop - less than 60 knot speed. (translates to about 65 MPH on the ground with no winds)
