The doors and the furniture made by Antonello’s father are so beautiful, breath taking. What a talented family! I want this apartment, but I am 76, too old to make such a move. I love Italia, been there several times. Great views from the apartment. First generation American drooling over this beautiful apartment. Chestnut and mahogany furniture, treasure trove of so many priceless artifacts. Lucky, lucky, lucky the person who buys this😘.
That's really a stunning apartment with beautiful views and lots of storage space. It's the first property I've seen there with a walk-in closet. The furniture is beautiful and looks to be in perfect condition. The doors made by Antonello's Dad are fabulous works of art by themselves!
They are! That parking/storage/possible future BNB rooms property is great because I want to start a consignment shop there for all of these treasures. It will be by appointment and we can pari these beauties with people who will love them.
When I think of a home in Italy, I imagine something like this beautiful home... from the courtyard, to the beautiful handcrafted doors, antiques, gorgeous details on the ceiling... amazing views of the sea and mountains... little store with fresh produce down stairs... I am in Love 💗
Very, very beautiful apartment. Beautifully furnished, well kept and chic classic. The owners had great taste and a sense for perserving the traditional features. Very Italian. Wouldn't change a single thing. Molto bello!!! 👌
Yes, much of the furniture and al of the cabinetry was made by Antonello's father who was a master furniture maker. It was all crafted by hand.Amazing quality!
It is amazing! I am looking at a shop that has a garage for the BNB's. I am going to invite people to putter furniture in it for consignment so we can pair new owners with the things the original owners want to part with.
Well done Chris! You are doing such a great job promoting this undiscovered Italian jewel, as an Italian with Calabrian roots I find your work very inspiring! Keep up the great work
My partner and I are both 70, so making the move with our older pet dog from Philadelphia to Italy is a huge step. The place has to be perfect. And, Chris, I think this one is just about it. The location, the costs, the people and the food. Sounds like a couple of things need to be addressed like the leak in the bathroom ceiling (terrace above?) and did I hear there needs to be a boiler installed? We would need to put in air conditioning, too. But all of that is doable. Is it still available? Is the furniture included? This is very tempting. -- Warren
Hi Warren, Some of the furniture does come with the apartment although not all of it. You can request some things remain if you want to. I do know that the Murano glass chandeliers are not included because they are several thousand euros each. I don't recall about a boiler but would need to check on the heating and AC situation. If you are using this as only a vacation home and coming in warm weather your needs will be different than if you plan to be here in Winter or live here full time. We would need to address those issues and see how it works with what is there already. Can you email me at info@supersavvytravelers.com? We can discuss this in more detail there and I can send notes to Antonello for more data for you.
Chris, in the video showing the cistern with the Madonna there was a brass pot sitting inside it. Do you know what they’re are called? Can you ask Antonello? I have one that belonged to my mother, who was from Roccella Ionica, Calabria.
Hi Chris. Unrelated question. I noticed that Calabria is very woodsy. Do they have forest fires? One if the marvelous things about leaving CA is not dealing with forest fires and droughts. What do you know about Calabria? Basilicata and Puglia are in our sights too. I would appreciate it if you could please let me know anything you may know about this. Thank you!
Is there a foreign exchange place in SDT or Scalea? I remember few years ago taxi drivers in Rome didn’t want to take $s for cab fare and I didn’t have Euro or lira with me. They don’t take credit cards either. Just want to be prepared!
Make sure you bring enough Euros from home. You can order them through your bank and you can use the ATM here with a debit card. The PW must be 4 digits.
I am not sure. There is so much to know about that particular program and I have not had time to research it. it is my understanding that the changes have to benefit efficiency in some fashion.
@@SuperSavvyTravelersLLC My understanding is that the EcoBonus has three parts ~ increased energy efficiency (by 2 letter grades), seismic, and facade. It is quite a benefit, we've just had a geometra come and do the estimation for the energy-efficient upgrade. Although I know of someone who has benefitted from the facade incentive for a full house.

I love it too! This is is super special!
The building itself shows age, but the furniture looks as if it was made yesterday. Sign of true quality craftsmanship.

Just simply amazing what comes in these apartments. This one is a one time deal. Love it !!

Chris, as a foreign language teacher, I love hearing you speak fluent Italian!
Hi James! Thank you! I am getting better! If I am well fed and rested I do pretty well!
What a lovely place and those views!!

Beautiful, thank you for showing this home, it's gorgeous. Do you ever hear about rentals? I'm coming next March and I can't wait.
Hi Sandi! Take a look in Air BNB and if you see a place you like I can check with Maria to see if it is available during the Winter months.
Love it!
So glad! Me too!
This is the time to invest in Italy, a lot of beautiful properties under 50,000 euros all over the country 😉
So true! And it is the best place on earth!
It’s a nice one, no doubt. From the other side, 250k gives so many options across entire Italy including waterfront locations.
Very true. It depends on what you want.

Hi Chris, is this still available?
Yes, it is! and it is AMAZING!
Just curious about parking.
La cantina e' per i salumi e il vino ;)
Yes!
Maybe I didn't catch it, did they mention the price?
Yes, it’s displayed for about 10 sec in the video.
@@SuperSavvyTravelersLLC Thx I'll recheck.
The outside of the apartment looks a little rundown but the inside is beautiful.
It actually looks quite good for being built in the 1800s...
It looks better in person.
Would the buyer be able to benefit from the Super Eco Bonus facade rebate as they don’t own the entire building?

Hi Marta! We do occasionally but it rains in Summer here and the fires don't seem to last long.
