Great one! Thanks.
Now that you’re an all time rancher, means we get more videos!! Love it!!!
All day framer The fence will be so nice
So glad Pete from Just a few Acres recommended your station.. its awesome!
I’m glad to hear it, thank you!
Enjoyed watching . thanks.
Thanks for the video.
You do good work thanks for sharing
Great job
Your Grandpa would be proud of you. 🚜👍👍🚜
That post auger sure makes it nicer! It would be a bugger to dig by hand in this dry dry California ground. Loos like some rain tonight! 🙏🏻🌧
Everything is worn out on the ranch but you're getting to each area one day at a time! Great work, Tyler!
Yes, that ground drilling attachment sure came in handy.....I like that you work smart......😊
We one time put our auger too deep and couldn't get it out with our tractor, which isn't the most powerful. We had to call our neighbor who has a much bigger tractor to pull it out. I think you should do something to extend the gate posts up enough where there isn't a problem getting your side-by-side through it. Also, be sure your tractor will go through it, too. I always smile when I see how curious those cows are about anything you are doing.
Having to do all of that by yourself with no help - you're a trooper!
Finally getting the fence rebuilt huh. 👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🤘🏻🤘🏻 Grandpa would be proud!
Interesting video. I think Grandpa would be pleased with the metal posts.
I'm constantly impressed by your building skills. Looking forward to seeing the finished fence. You have a natural gift for teaching btw.
he has the voice you can listen to and not be drove into sleep a natural for sure
Please do more Q & A videos. So many good questions, helps to update previous videos & we get to see more of what the family is up to. 👍🏻😃
That gate will last for ever.
Good job, nice to have the right tools for the job.
Good hard work.... beats the heck out of staring at a laptop all day.....!!!
WOW that gate should really be robust !! You used heavy enough uprights !! They'll be there forever, Tyler !! Onwards and Upwards, Buddy !!
Missed you when you were deciding. I’m so glad your back. Follow your dream. You have a cute young family. You’ll manage just fine.
Tyler It was great to see you on a Saturday morning! I am so proud you are looking at this problem that you have talked about a couple times! I hope you have a great rest of your day!
A decent fence. There is always something interesting going on at the FTR. God Bless.
Don’t let being perfect get in the way of being good. Building fences is something I enjoy… Tearing out old fences… Not so much. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing stuff FT. I marvel at how you can do those calculations in your head. Especially the ones that are fractional. You are an amazing engineer and builder/fabricator. I believe in recreation. I know I have three or prior lives. I believe you do also have prior lives and were a designer, architect, and builder of the pyramids.
Good to see the old string method works! Only thing I used in my younger years....
Captive is better than critics
Love the editing magic. Lol wish I could do that with all my chores
A video on Saturday. What a treat!
You do a terrific job and you do it by yourself - that's pretty amazing.
He's certainly a one man show !!
Tyler always a day & a half I am watching anyway 6-21-2022👍🏽👍🏽
Good update!
Perfectly fine to set posts that way with Concrete. I've been building Fences and Decks for 26 yrs just like that.
I've always use a loader bucket on a tractor to push T post in to the ground. Enjoy watching your videos keep up the good work!
I'm with you Chris G, that tractor bucket makes T post a WHOLE LOT easier to sink and I have driven many in with the old arm-pounding method. Yeah, if you hit a rock or root, it might get bent some but usually, they will bend back straight. It's a difference in night and day.
I’m surprised how people suggested this. Apparently it works in some places but it absolutely wouldn’t work here in this type of ground. Thank you Chris!
Tyler always a day & a half., I am watching anyway 6-21-2022👍🏽👍🏽
Nice work
You are a Good Fabricator
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 Off to a good start!
Job well done. You're never stuck with ideas. 👍👍🌿🍃🚜🚜🚜🍃🌿
Yay another video! I love how Callie sits in the side by side and watches you lol
I really like these kinds of videos. I always learn something.
Love the scavenging of the auger parts, great job!
He finally found his round tuit.
Love your intro music
Coming along great 👌👌👌👌👌💕
Great helper you have Tyler
So glad that you have the time to do some of the chores around the ranch. God bless.
Oddly I was also working on fences... what fun
Check out Extreme Driver. It's a post driver that makes that makes installing posts a breeze. It's made in Virginia, and fortunately available to rent near me. In my opinion I would have left those t-posts at 8 ft. A weaning fence can't be too tall. Good luck.
Oh man I like your video's so much. Everything is interesting to me😁. You know something Mr.Tyler I never knew the work that went into have a farm and keeping it running. Many years ago I can remember my grandfather having a farm with men living off the side of the farm ( workers). My grandfather had just about 200 acres of land. I'll say this, the men were always working and my grandfather had apple trees, and vegetables all kinds of things and cows to. I'd sit outside as a young kid and watch the men work from sun up to sun down. It's a lot of work but seems so satisfying knowing how good the farm looked from being well kept. My grandfather's farm was in Hemet California and as the years went on he sold the ranch and I have good memories🙂
I'm looking forward to your next video Mr. Tyler👍🏼 🎉
Great video Tyler
Tyler, you just know Everything ! Great video thank you ☺
Great video. Your dedication to perfection is outstanding
Yes
Your videos are amazing and projects are amazing thanks for sharing thevideo
good video keep up the good work ethic man good job
Love the videos, you have a wonderful family. Spent time in the summer on grparents small farm. Brings back memories.😃
Your method for the concrete will work fine. In fact, the less water you add, the better. Less water adds strength to the final product. The only concern would be the set time. How long it takes to get stiff.
When building wood fences, I would use mixed concrete for the corner and gate posts only. The intermediate posts would be as per your method. Never an issue for strength.
Looking forward to next week's video already. 👍
Hello Tyler
Great job Tyler!! Getting a good deal on the 8 foot t-posts was wonderful…pretty hard welding 2 feet on to a 6 footer😄. Fence building is always a long drawn out and tedious affair…. But oh so proud when the job is complete. At least now you can keep working on it instead of waiting for 5 days to get back to it. Great video and I love the magnetic level.
I've always put cement in dry setting H-braces and fence post and never had a problem. Like you said the cement will draw moisture from the ground and here in Northwestern PA we have lots of moisture in the ground. Have a video of a 500' section of fence I install last fall on my channel.
Hi to Farmer Tyler Ranch and all others too. Great rancher videos i enjoys watching over and over. Prayers thanks for sharing and everyone have a bless day. Keep Up The Content nice work
Now this tj is fine
Get T post set, shove em rest of the way with loader, works great if you line it up right, get it plumb
Great video Tyler!! This is great we get to see more videos of the farm!
When you dropped the post in the ground I couldn't help but think of driving it in another 12 to 18 inches with your loader bucket. I'm sure it's fine as it is... just a bit more is always better, right? 🤣
I’ve always put half or more of the concrete in fence hole dry and half wet I fitted my first my first like this in 1978 it hasn’t fell over yet . If I dug hole too deep I would pack up with dry mix and or gravel/old bricks
How is the little calf doing, it wasn't looking to good for him the last time you spoke about him? Best wishes from the North Norfolk coast UK
I was looking for an update on him, since the last, I heard he was off to the vet.
Thank you Carol. The vet did not have good news for me. There will be an update soon
I remember the other fence you put in, I’m sure this one will be great! Have you gotten rain lately? How’s the calf doing, have you given it a name? How’s it getting along with the other cows? I’ve been waiting to hear since you moved it in with the other cows.
Thank you Donna. After consulting with the vet it’s not good news for the calf. I’ll update soon
@@farmertylerranch4399 oh, I’m sorry to hear that, but you gotta do what’s best
Thanks for the update.
Another option for gate posts set to close = I have some "one-way" gates! LOL!
Call the calf Mr. Magoo. Lolol
Love the vid FT!! Keep the welding and fence videos coming!! I like seeing you do it so I have ideas for my ranch work.
You sure have set yourself on a hard life especially if you are doing it all by yourself
Whoa, whoa, WHOA! Was that a bottle of Grey Goose I saw flash by? If so, you need any shop help? lol...
Haha!
Morning
lots of work but no cows boringgggggggggg lol hugsss
Good job Tyler keep up the good work how’s the baby calf doing
That concrete
Tyler watch Sonne Farm's youtube channel new video and the new gate they just had installed - you need to fabricate yourself one of those
Option 3 for a narrow gateway - the gate only swings in or out.
Tyler lov watching u, give us daily videos you’ll get great support yur so good @ what u do, Become a full-time UA-camr look at other people you’re much better you have a more personal approach and great support from Bay Area California you’ve got what it takes time to work on it thank you
Thank you Kat! I really do appreciate that. Daily videos are not in the cards for me. Keep in mind that most channels that do that have a team of editors and camera men. I’m a one man show!
String all your wire and stretch it before putting in the t posts. That way there's nothing in the way of your wire and all that's left is to clip the wires.
YOU need to build a H-brace , and weld a horizontial pipe to connect them !
Pretty sure he said he was going to do that where he put the first post in.
@@python3574 NOPE , he's only going to install a single pipe on each end of the fence ! IF he stretches his wire tight , it'll pull both posts over ! I built fence for 25 years and single posts don't work unless you're keeping rabbits in the pasture !
@@joedoakes8307 then what brace was he talking about at 1:34?
Thanks Python!
👍💪😀
I love reading the comments .
Little bit of a perfectionist arnt you which is good when your making storage etc for your cattle those pipes looked very heavy and nobody to help you. Good work
I don't know about you but I have found if you let the dry concrete only in the hole and let it draw up a tiny bit of water from the ground it just has always seemed as if the Concrete was harder. Its definitely not pretty but it holds the shit out of the post and after all its not like your going to be looking at it!! I also have found if you need to take that post out for some reason that hard Brittle Concrete that was great in the ground will break off that post easier when you pull it making it so you can reuse that $60 square tube again!
Tyler, could your film how you make n attach the latch to yhe gate please.
I’ve seen on other farm videos that some farmers, with a front end bucket loader on a tractor, will use the front end loader and raise it up high, then put a T-post under the bucket, and press it down into the ground. Not sure how hard of a ground you have or how much pressure the front end loader can put forcing a T-post into the ground, but will this method might work for you putting T-post into the ground, rather than manual man-power pounding it into the ground with a T-post driver 🤷♂️ ?!?!
👍👍👍👍🚜🚜🚜
Tyler another great video. I would like to say that you look much more relaxed, not as tired and seem less rushed. I’m glad! Was Callie in the side by side when you were digging the holes? If so great way to keep her safe.
Can’t wait to see the next video. Would like to ask for an update on the baby calve. Also how is Buddy?
Thank you Jennifer! Callie was either in the side by side or off running around somewhere!
I always look forward to your videos. I was anxiously waiting to hear about the bottle fed calf and if her eyes got better but nothing yet. What ever happened with Buddy?
There will be an update on the calf soon. Buddy is still out running with the herd, living the life!
Hi Tyler, how is the bottle calf doing?
Great video guy! Your puppy is noticeably growing up. He's definitely larger in size than what I recall in other recent videos, but could it be due to the angle of your camera? Also, you used the phrase "get around to it." Ha! Some years ago a co-worker of mine heard me say it and handed me a piece of paper circular in shape (round) with "2it" written on it. It was "a round to it." 🧐😜👍
Can you arch the top of the gate post brace to allow more clearance?
How’s the hay yield looking? Most people here in Covelo ca aren’t even going to cut. 😞
Do you ever wish you could clone yourself? Nice work. It's goin look nice!
Haha yes!
What do you mean that mixing concrete in the hole isn’t as good?🤔 I’ll bet between 85-90% of our posts in the fields, that we use for cattle, were put in that way! They’ve lasted about 27 years with very few problems. Having seen videos of you creating fence posts and gates…this project will be absolutely fine!😂
I need a new gun assembly for my flux core mig. Where should I be looking. I was welding on the combine header and the recuperating blades cut it in half
Local welding supply store? Of course there’s always Amazon
