- India, with a $155 billion electronics market, is on track to becoming a $1 trillion digital economy by FY26. The domestic production, valued at $101 billion in FY23, is diversifying across segments like mobile phones, IT hardware, consumer electronics, and more. A 96% reduction in data costs and a thriving startup ecosystem are accelerating this growth.
In a strategic move to boost domestic manufacturing and exports, the government has launched Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes for Large Scale Electronics Manufacturing and IT Hardware, with a combined outlay of INR 57,951 crores. These initiatives aim to create a competitive electronics and components ecosystem, reinforcing India's position on the global tech map.
The future of ESDM in India is undeniably bright, driven by innovation, 5G rollout, IoT technology, 'Make in India,' and a robust R&D ecosystem.
