Congratulations on your First GEC. Very nice I love the handles yeah probably the best knife to collect if you're doing it for investment.Thank you for sharing Brother
I usually buy mostly users. Doug. I'm kind of scared to use this one. But I probably will a bit. I know it will probably be worth something someday, but I can't see myself selling this absolutely beautiful piece. The tomato acrylic is blowing my mind. I'm very glad I got it even though it was really pricey. But thank you for watching brother.
That tomato acrylic is beautiful! The Northfield trims have the polished blades and bolsters/back springs, the Tidioute lines have the satin finish in most cases but beautiful nonetheless. You said it yourself, you never see them going down in price and in my opinion the true beauty of the GEC knives is how they wear with use over time AND YOU CAN SELL THEM AT ANY TIME AND GET YOUR MONEY BACK PLUS SOME! Congratulations man!
Thank you so much for the info Clem! It is a really nice knife. I may go for a Northfield next time, but couldnt pass on these awesome tomato covers. It appears some venders mark the prices way up on these. Ive seen them for sale for $130 other Places and that seems mor justified to me. oh well. At least I got one!
I don't own a GEC, but I sure seem to like looking at them😆The dog leg jack is a really cool pattern, I think you chose well. And those covers are killer! Have a great Saturday, buddy!
Nice snag man! I didnt like the idea of the acrylic but that tomato acrylic is too cool man! Jack knives are all the craze right now and that one fits the bill! I too like the greyhound on the blade! Hope you’re having a great weekend Andrew!!!
Thats one of the reasons I picked this up! Absolutely amazing. Case does some but havent seen those in person cause i prefer bone. But from just the pictures i was blown away by this tomato acrylic. Im also an orange fan and this has alot on the show side! Love it! Terrified to carry it anywhere. But I will. I try and use all my knives.
Well im an old dog now so why not try it. Pricey but a great 50th birthday present to my self. Very happy i got these covers. I dont see them for sale anywhere yet.
For Sure Cheato! I will consult you for any further GEC Purchases for sure! Thank for giving me a heads up on the Knife Venders to go through. TPK really Marked these up. $130 seams more resonable to me.
Buddy!😱😱 I don’t care what anyone says! That is an absolutely beautiful knife!!! Bone is knife pretty but that is an absolutely gorgeous knife! In fact I think it’s the prettiest knife I’ve seen on UA-cam in a while!!!! Congrats buddy!!!
Congratulations on your GEC! I also have never seen one in real life. About a year ago I really wanted one but I got tired of the GEC game. I gave up for now. Someday I may get one but the price is definitely an issue, just like Jack Wolf. I’m glad you were able to get one.
Im glad i got This one. I was actually on all about pocket knives tonight ordering a couple of Arthur bright and son and they have a good selection of gecs for reasonable prices but unfortunately these are already over $220?! Thank you for checking it out RJ!
Man that’s a beautiful knife brother! I’m with you I like the polished blades on a case knife. I want to get a GEC knife but I just don’t have that much money to spend on a knife! Maybe when my kids grow up I can get one!😂 Hope you have a great weekend brother!
It’s definitely a stylish looking knife. I kinda prefer a Matt finish on a blade. Just my preference. I like dog themed knives so that is now on my radar. Thanks for the peek.
@BaxtersBlades that is one advantage to the mirror polish, the patina. Awesome. Thank you. Looking forward to it. Hopefully, my stickers will come in around the same time to send to you.
Interesting one to start with for sure!! I like the satin finish blades over polished any day but i still love Case!! Haha. I am glad you got one Andrew i hope you enjoy it brother! If not it will be a great trade piece😆 😎👊🏼
I also noticed they were available longer than usual. I think the price point is deterring the guys who buy to flip them. My take anyway. The same thing happens with the GEC made Remington bullet knives. They stick around long enough to get one if you really want it. Part of the deal with GEC is that it's founder owner was the last great master cutler at Queen during some real glory days. When he left it was downhill and gone. So there's the history. But yeah, they're pricey.
I’m stressing over paying 150 for a Case here in Canada, that’s a beautiful knife though, I imagine it will hold its value to some extent. Only live once. Great video, great knife!👍🇨🇦🇺🇸
LOl, I just got one of these, too. It has a red paper laminate for the covers. It is also my first GEC. My first impressions are the same as yours. It's a nice knife, but I don't get all the hype. I don't know if I'll get another one in the future. If I do it will just be one more if somethimg really special comes along. I am not knocking the knife. It is really good. It's just that I am happier carrying a Rosecraft. The Briarpatch is about the ideal traditional knife for the stuff that I do. Now for the J.W. the quality and materials are worth the extra $100 to me over the GEC, although 2 JW's are enough for me.
That is so awesome Ken! I will do a follow up video. This was just the initial impression unboxing. Its a nice collector piece that we will never lose on. As far as using it often. Im not so sure. I agree Rosecraft for the money are bangers!! I did order a couple more Arthur wright and son. Which were $40 and $50. Looking forward to your veview!!
Hey Andrew, Congrats on your first GEC. Beautiful knife, love it. I don't think that I will ever buy a new one but if it's worth $195 to you then that all that matters. I hate to say it but there other companies out there that make just as good products for 1/3 the price (ie Rosecraft). I love the older GECs and other brands. I'm a older knife guy but have a few newer Case, and Bucks but still love the old Schrade, and Western knives. But they to just can't make them like they use to which I just don't get. Why would companies quit doing what made them what they were (and cheap out on materials and craftsmanship) Maybe it's cuz I grew up with them as I'm 69 years old. I love Case knives no one does bone any better but I only wish that Case would get their shit together with fit and finish - I've got about a dozen of them but would have a lot more of them if they did. Sorry for the rant - Again Congratulation
I agree chevy! I love my Case and Rosecraft but just had to try one of these. $195 is a lot. and it should have been $140 but all the prices are going up and i could have gotten a different patten for less. but i love the jack knife! Thanks for watching brother!
Love the knife and pattern, not so crazy about the covers, not my first choice but they're ok, but still a beautiful quality knife. I love that type of satin finish on the blades and I also love polished. To costly for my budget, most knives are but the GEC's especially. Back in the day you could get a good quality pocket knife for $3-$5 now they're $200 lol, I hate this world and the people who have made it the way it is.
Very interesting. I think Patina on the blade looks better on a polished blade. But it is nice not to have such a finger print magnet! Though I havent even used this knive cause its so nice. To me it is a $130 knife. Think TPK marked them up cause they could. Though think they are going for well over $220 now
The reason GEC knives are so sought after is the fact that the company unlike case,GEC chooses to remain a small family business and only produce a small amount of their knives and do not have the number of releases such as Case, does this make them better than Case,no but definitely a lot rarer then case which makes them worth more on the collective side. With GEC it's the thrill of the hunt.
I agree Wicked! It looks like TPK marked these way up. They were sold for $130 other Places. Not sure whats going on but that seems like more of a fare price. Maybe they dropped them later and these were the last? I am not sure. I appreciate the information. Thank you!
Congratulations on your First GEC. Very nice I love the handles yeah probably the best knife to collect if you're doing it for investment.Thank you for sharing Brother

That is an absolutely beautiful knife Andrew! Love it! Thanks so much for sharing it! Great job!
Thank you David. there will be a follow up video on this for sure!
Beautiful knife. GEC has some gorgeous acrylic covers
They really blew my mind!
Oh wow. Awesome addition for sure!
Thank you Randy! There is a bunch of GEC. On AAPK. Guess there just hard to get on the drop. Didnt see the tomato acrylic there though.
That tomato acrylic is beautiful! The Northfield trims have the polished blades and bolsters/back springs, the Tidioute lines have the satin finish in most cases but beautiful nonetheless. Im a sucker for a cool jack knife. I think this size is perfect. Glad i at least got 1.
Nice snag man! I didnt like the idea of the acrylic but that tomato acrylic is too cool man! Jack knives are all the craze right now and that one fits the bill! I too like the greyhound on the blade! Hope you’re having a great weekend Andrew!!!
It is truly awesome! Thank you Aaro! I will do a review once i use it a bit. Love the covers!
Also, the acrylic handle covers are great!!!
Thats one of the reasons I picked this up! Absolutely amazing. Case does some but havent seen those in person cause i prefer bone. But from just the pictures i was blown away by this tomato acrylic. WOW, absolutely beautiful. What a great pick up even at the price. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.
Its ridiculous! But i love it! Thank you Stan. I could have gotten a buck 110 custom in stag. But oh well. Trying something different!
Very nice knife. Hope you enjoy it.
Thank you Raybo. Im terrified to use it yet! My Queenie!
That’s a beautiful knife! GEC… you are rollin with the Big Dogs now Andrew! Yeah Boy!
Congrats on you first GEC! 👍👍
Happy Friday evening! Cheers, RW
Well im an old dog now so why not try it. Pricey but a great 50th birthday present to my self. Very happy i got these covers. I dont see them for sale anywhere yet.
An excellent birthday present to yourself! Those covers are stunning! 👍
Had to go for some orange 🍊 lol let me know what other patterns you like from GEC and ill help you track some down at a good price
For Sure Cheato! I will consult you for any further GEC Purchases for sure! Thank for giving me a heads up on the Knife Venders to go through. TPK really Marked these up. $130 seams more resonable to me.

Im a bone man myself. But i agree. This us the prettiest knife i own. Next tonmy Case Tiger trapper! Thanks for checkimg it out!👊💥🐯
Love the scales 😊
Me too Michael! Thank you!
Congratulations on your GEC! I also have never seen one in real life. About a year ago I really wanted one but I got tired of the GEC game. I gave up for now. Someday I may get one but the price is definitely an issue, just like Jack Wolf. I’m glad you were able to get one.

I did see some more affordable GEC at AAPK. Different pattern but not quite as much as this one. Thanks for checking it out!
Looks like you got a good one. I can see the orange color. Very nice.
I really dig this pattern.
A trapper without a spey blade.
Thanks for the show
Thank you for checking it out Rusty! Its a nice knife!
Really cool knife. I'm glad you were able to pick one up. It looks like it's dying to go for a ride on a motorcycle, my friend.
It is for sure! Thank you you my friend!
Great looking knife. I will keep buying affordable case knives
I will too Jason!! Thank you!
Well hot dog! You got a GEC! I’m happy for you, they are quit tempting. I’m on a slow build up to getting one lol
Its good but pricey! Nice that I finally got one. you could get a custom 110 in stag for this price. very cool though.
It’s definitely a stylish looking knife. I kinda prefer a Matt finish on a blade. Just my preference. I like dog themed knives so that is now on my radar. Thanks for the peek.
I will have to see how the patina takes to the satin blade! thank you for checking it out Todd! Your slip and stickers are on the way!
@BaxtersBlades that is one advantage to the mirror polish, the patina. Awesome. Thank you. Looking forward to it. Hopefully, my stickers will come in around the same time to send to you.
Amazing
Gotta try something different every once an a while. It really is cool. Glad i got this one.
Ahhhh, the Unobtainium lol. Great knife! I have one GEC and mine is acrylic as well. They do a fine job with it imo.
Very cool Jeremy! Gonna take me a while to getting use to using such an expensive knife.
@BaxtersBlades ya I hear ya man!
Interesting one to start with for sure!! I like the satin finish blades over polished any day but i still love Case!! Haha. I am glad you got one Andrew i hope you enjoy it brother! If not it will be a great trade piece😆 😎👊🏼
I love it! A Jack knife in these covers? so awesome! and it did state satin finish so that was my bad.
I also noticed they were available longer than usual. I think the price point is deterring the guys who buy to flip them. My take anyway.

I’m stressing over paying 150 for a Case here in Canada, that’s a beautiful knife though, I imagine it will hold its value to some extent. Only live once. Great video, great knife!👍🇨🇦🇺🇸
For sure Oxy! Id be stressed paying more than $150 for a Case also. it would have to be a very nice vintage one!
LOl, I just got one of these, too. It has a red paper laminate for the covers. It is also my first GEC. My first impressions are the same as yours. It's a nice knife, but I don't get all the hype. You'll be hooked now beautiful freaking bomb
Thank you so much wicked! I hope not! They are pricey! Thanks for checking it out!
wow - i want one of those
Its truly amazing in person. Nice knife. Thank you Kathleen. I dont see many for sale except ebay now
Love the knife and pattern, not so crazy about the covers, not my first choice but they're ok, but still a beautiful quality knife. I hear you Mcdoogle! this may be my only one! alot for a knife for sure!
I paid 95 dollars for my first gec in 2018 from GP Knives. Crazy how hard they are to get now and the price has gone up over 100%.
Yah they have gotten popular. Only make so many. Probably why they can ask so much money for them. Thank you for checking it out!
I got my first GEC a couple of months ago, and my reaction was the same as yours.
Very interestimg Navy. I guess this is there most basic line but still a nice knife. Love the covers and glad i got 1!
Most of us at the GEC groups prefer satin finished blades to polished.
Very interesting. I think Patina on the blade looks better on a polished blade. But it is nice not to have such a finger print magnet! Though I havent even used this knive cause its so nice. To me it is a $130 knife. Think TPK marked them up cause they could. Though think they are going for well over $220 now

Now that you've been bitten by the bug, there is no escape.
Lol! Oohhhhhhhh Noooooo! There are some awesome ones for sure!
Ive got the bug. Just gonna choose my Vendors more carefully next time! These were way marked up from other places.
Beautiful knife but GEC is out of my price range. The nice acrylic makes me jones a little for a Case Kirinite knife.
I still need to get a Case Krinite covered knife also Donnie!
Get your hands on a nice Northfield from GEC and then you can make an informed decision.
Maybe someday David! Thanks for checking it out!
Nice knife, great review! I was hoping you would try to pronounce TIDIOUTE.
Lol!! I looked at it and was like i need to look that up cause im gonna destroy it. 😂😂 my follow up video i will!
Sweet looking knife but not for that price lol.
It is pricey! Had to try 1! Thank you Jeff!
@@BaxtersBlades you’re welcome. Hey nothing wrong with trying it out.
