if carly was in demi's category demi would've completely butchered her. britney was a good mentor. she knew that my heart will go on and somewhere over the rainbow would get her rave reviews. then she switched it up by giving her as long as you love me because it showed how current it was plus she secured votes from the beliebers

Britney is not the right mentor for Carly Rose. This is the x factor, not just talking pop music. You know Carly is a very talented singer, does not mean she's only good in singing a song with the genre of pop. what about other genres, such as jazz and swing Balard?
she's been writing and recording her debut album, Time Flies new album has a song they did together. There are quite a few video's of her originals on youtube recorded from live concerts she had done
