Came in from a rainy Thursday On the avenue Thought I heard you talking softly I turned on the lights, the TV And the radio Still I can't escape the ghost of you What has happened to it all? Crazy, some are saying Where is the life that I recognize? Gone away But I won't cry for yesterday There's an ordinary world Somehow I have to find And as I try to make my way To the ordinary world I will learn to survive Passion or coincidence Once prompted you to say "Pride will tear us both apart" Well now pride's gone out the window Cross the rooftops Run away Left me in the vacuum of my heart What is happening to me? Crazy, some'd say Where is my friend when I need you most? Gone away (Chorus)
I have been playing piano for the entirety of my old life, and kid, I ain't NEVER seen anything like this. You are fantastic. Always remember that! Beautiful sounds, beautiful heart.
I hope you don't mind, but I'll be using this video as an example of how I'd like song played as we walk out of the ceremony of our wedding next year. I love it so, so much. Duran Duran are and always have been a huge part of my life as I grew up with parents who loved them, and my fiance proposed after we saw them in December last year. This is just so fitting... If only you lived in Scotland I'd have you play for us!
Man, that is just fan-fuckin-tastic!!! Thanks for posting this because it shows me a whole shit load more that I can do with an acoustic which by the way is also a Yamaha. Very very very cool!
+Paul Rahme Oh yeah I know this is just you but some of the little things can be applied to acoustic guitar and this gave me tons of ideas for fills and diminished chords. Compaired to what I was playing before I think I've gotten it over a hundred times better.
+Paul Rahme It's obviously not going to be anywhere near this version but I'm just saying that the voicings and stuff can be reproduced as much as can be expected with only six strings.
+Wizzle Ah i didn't realise you meant acoustic guitar - thought you were talking about a Yamaha acoustic piano! Thanks for the comments & compliments - really glad to have inspired your version. Please record it and send me a link!
your playing represent how ordinary world to see it many thing..yeah buddy..but i think you play with the extraordinary way haha haha i love new one i love the present and you make it congrats haha haha
You see, a sunset is more than just a scientific phenomenon. I hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe
You're a really good player... really good... i would just invest a little bit more at your scenario. Dimming the light, turn of the light on the celling, buy two abajur's and put them at booth sides of the instrument. From Brasil 🇧🇷
Thank you for the suggestions! Yes I started off with the "bedroom playing" since 2007 and never really progressed beyond this style. Perhaps it's time for a scenery update...
Thierry ... you can try playing the video half or quarter speed at your keyboard and learn it that way ... measure by measure ... patience and practice ! :-) I'm gonna give it a shot.
One of the greatest songs ever! Brilliantly played!
Came in from a rainy Thursday
On the avenue
Thought I heard you talking softly
I turned on the lights, the TV
And the radio
Still I can't escape the ghost of you
What has happened to it all?
Crazy, some are saying
Where is the life that I recognize?
Gone away
But I won't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive
Passion or coincidence
Once prompted you to say
"Pride will tear us both apart"
Well now pride's gone out the window
Cross the rooftops
Run away
Left me in the vacuum of my heart
What is happening to me?
Crazy, some'd say
Where is my friend when I need you most?
Gone away
(Chorus)

Of course I don't mind - I'm honoured :)
But it's a breakup song!
He's prepping for the eventual divorce.
@@drizzt197three It's about Simon's best friend who died of a drug over dose. He's said this in interviews.

Wow, truly impressed, never have I ever, seen such skills shown on a piano from a great song!
Es una excelente composición una melodía sencilla de accesible ejecución, que justamente creo que es lo que la hace tan bella y poderosa.

Omgosh Paul. This is so lush, beautifully arranged. Which model Yamaha is that? It has deep, resonant tones.
Thank you! This was a Yamaha P-60. Had an amazing warm deep low-end, especially around the 100-200Hz range. Used it on many studio recordings!

piano sound here and playing live (no pre-recorded / backing or
anything)
