Made this animation around August last year, so it's not super amazing, the style's kinda different from my usual stuff because I was just playing around with After Effects (The whole animation for this short is animated in After Effects)... Anyways let me know if you like it!

I’m gunna try and deconstruct the lore here.
A. It’s an infinite loop. That seems pretty obvious since we see her fall in the beginning and end.
B. These coins are used as currency and no one needs to eat. Rather, “eating” is just another form of storage. Like a pocket. Most people use these coins for cars and stuff, but she only has the bare minimum. Using coins only to be more efficient to get more coins like using the elevator.
C. With enough coins, she can exchange them for divinity. Which is something the “higher ups” don’t want her to do. Since we see the other workers try to stop her from jumping out the window to the “divine square”. That, or they were trying to stop her from committing suicide.
D. Divinity doesn’t last forever. It’s like the star power in Mario Galaxy. It makes you all powerful for a brief period of time, before you go back to normal. She goes through all this struggle, just to have a taste of divinity. And what I believe she sees as “true freedom”. She toys with her bosses a bit, but nothing harmful. After her little power trip, she finds a place to relax. Be at peace with herself. Before the inevitable fall into mortality.
E. Based on what I said before, I believe this is a story about addiction. Not just to drugs, but to anything. We work and work, struggle and struggle. Work our way up to achieve a goal. And if we were to ever reach that goal, we would feel satisfied, but ultimately there is nothing left to work for…
F. I now have 2 interpretations of what this means.
1. Drugs. She endlessly craves the high of divinity. So much so that she does all this just for a short taste of it. When time runs out, she does everything she can to get it back. Over. And over. And over.
2. Sisyphus. She constantly works and struggles for the goal of divinity. Once she has achieved it and has some fun, she relaxes and makes her self mortal again. So she can work for it all over again. It’s like a self imposed Sisyphus. She endlessly works because that is what makes her happy.

i think the color was really cool in here because they used colors that are usually thought of as opposites like blue and red, white and black, which gave a lot of contrast to many scenes

just noticed something, this character seems to be working twice as hard as everyoine else. Carrying 2 big boxes instead of one and submitting 2 papers at once. She is getting paid twice as much too, 2 coins. Then uses 1 coin to get promoted and saves the other. At the top other characters notice she has spare coin and i think thats why they try to jump her before she crashes through a window trying to get even higher.

Not only is the artstyle and animation beautiful but it’s also quite a unique perspective on the working class and how much work they have to put in just to get a taste of a sense of decent living. After saving up enough money she’s able to break away from the system and watch it from above, almost as if she’s saved enough to go on holiday, but unfortunately the accumulated wealth doesn’t last and so she falls down back into the cycle to do it all again
1:38 i love this scene, i interpret it as us watching from her current perspective 'in power'. how everyone looks so insignificant and similar, how we were once a part of that, like ants in a colony
My interpretation for this is just working your ass off until you get promoted. That feeling of high when you achieved something is great, yes, but it's also temporary since you're still considered a worker and sooner or later, fall into the same routine that you are forced into. Which explains why this seems to go on a time loop (with her falling down a building once she reaches Godhood)

If a video game was made with your directing and art style, it would immediately become my favorite game
Here's an interpretation:
You can't escape or destroy the Matrix by playing the game--even by playing it really, really well--because there is no end to the game loop. Note that the protagonist is a robotic drone that aspires to power and agency. There is a system in place whereby drones can grow in power--the coins. Most drones spend their power as soon as they get it on conveniences to make their endless work just a little bit more bearable.
The protagonist eschews that mindset for the grindset, working twice as hard as the others and slowly building their power. Once they feel they have enough, they "spend" it all at once to gain the ability to manipulate and reshape the boxes they were once forced to adhere to and avoid the burdens they were once forced to carry. They gleefully stretch and squeeze the boxes, even as their once fellow-workers' lives are upended as a consequence. However, this power they have exchanged their coins for is not infinite--it is spent as surely as their coins were, and they are forced to fall once again into the life of a powerless drone.
The power promised by the coins was an illusion--whoever is controlling the drones pays them only in company scrip; worthless anywhere except within the confines of the boxes they strive endlessly and futilely to escape or make peace with. To escape one box is to find that they are still within a yet-larger box. Any power gained can only be used to abuse those with less power, never to empower them or upend the status quo. The agency promised by the godlike abilities was also an illusion--in the end, they were always acting according to the design of the system, because any action they were allowed to take or choice they were allowed to make was just that--"allowed".

So yeah this is just a metaphor for the modern day worker XD
Everything from how we fall into dept... How we try to work so ourselves out of debt... Our self awareness to how foolish it is all is... To how we literally run ourselves in circles... Obviously how we are underpayed for our hard work... working up the corporate ladder... The robotic internals to show how we have to become literal working machines well as how we have to save our money... The lie that if we make it to the top we will finally feel satisfied & our pain & suffering will go away... How we have to work so hard while other's literally get a free ride in life... A slight metaphor to how our work & life all kind of blends together & that we always have that goal in the back of our minds... Alot of things won't go our ways which will remind us how pointless this all is so we have to literally blind ourselves... Finally to the dismay of other & even to some extent of yourself you break out & make your way to the very top... The vomiting coins are you literally giving it your all... There are alot of images of boxes throughout the entire video which demonstrate how it can make us all feel boxed in but now she's taken control & is literally shaking things up... But despite everything she has done the system still stands unchanged... Even though she's finally free she is still not satisfied & it didnt make any if the pain go away... & The cycle continues...
That's my deep analysis of all the little themes lol hope you enjoyed peace-
I think I understand the context/story of this. you're constantly chasing an unattainable goal, you think you'll pass but its simply wasted effort, because some people advance socially, athletically, or financially. while you yourself constantly fall down and you can wish to be those people with effort, improv, and etc but you never catch up but rather spread the gap between you and others wether you had liked it or not, and the worst part was that you could only blame yourself because you believe you dont work hard enough and thats why your not walking fast enough. basically ratatouille sewer scene where remi cant catch up with his other family members on the boat and he feels its only his fault due to him not paddling fast enough on his book.
My gamer senses are tingling... i feel a fantastic game concept here.

As someone who has been trying to get into art, all the things you have made, especially this, really stand out to me. I am not an artist by any means, and most middle schoolers can draw better than me, but the creativity you show in the transitions, how smooth the movements are, and how the colors match so well just stand out to me so much now that I have the time to make art again. Even your previous animations show that you can draw in such incredible detail, it just amazes me. Truly from the bottom of my heart, this and all your art is wonderful, and being able to come close to something like what you made is one of my goals in art.

I love this critique of our capitalistic world where the hustle and the workaholic behavior to constantly rise up and get above everyone else. The character seems to hate the system too, and she works constantly to get up on the social ladder to break it, only to become the system itself, restarting the cycle of power.

She seems to get some sort of power and toys with some of the other robots, but it only lasts for a period of time and she returns to the cycle.

so basicly some robot girl is high on coins and jumped out a window and becomes spiderman then makes a evil eye that kills everyone then she falls into the minecraft void
been looking for this for literal days, thought the song was related to "estrelar" and was disappointed when i heard that version, so i have been hunting for this animation for ages, so happy i finally found it :D
Here's my interpretation based on watching it and everyones comments.
First of all, the color red, seems to be a symbol for wealth, as we see the coins, the sport car, and the central corporate building all following the same pattern.
And the color blue seems to be a symbol representing struggle. As we see the soulless employees and other less important company building, all colored blue. Or it may not be symbol at all. Just the default...
Anyways
We first see our protagonist,
a blue haired girl (blue hair representing she doesnt have an easy life, and is trapped in the system, while also distinguishing her from other soulless identical employees) trying to escape the struggle, running in a hamsterwheel, shaped like a red eye.
The eye seems to be an important symbol representing control and power.
And the color being red, is clearly telling us that this control and power comes with wealth.
Like others pointed out, We can see that our protagonist works twice as hard as others, carrying two blue boxes, and handing in two blue notebooks instead of one. Notice that both the boxes and notebooks are blue.
And in return for her hard work, she receives two red coins, instead of one.
(This is a clear indication that we are watching an artistic and not literal setting. Since better performance in corporate verrrry rarely leads to better pay or even recognition. But my terrible sense of humor aside...)
Her eyes glow red when receiving her coins. telling us about her ambitions to one day reach the top.
She saves half of her coins. as she swallows them, we can see her insides portrayed, mechanical, with both red and blue wiring, which could have a deeper meaning that Im not seeing, or could just be an artistic choice.
She is focused on her goal and doesn't spend her earnings on luxuries, or unimportant expenses. We see this clearly contrasted with the red sport car, as she is still riding her bicycle, even if its not the easiest option.
instead she only spends money to get access to better opportunities in her work.
when she has to spend some to enter the elevator, and climb higher up.
all the while being still focused on the red central corporate building.
Every time she climbs the elevator, her job seems to be improving as well. She is not carrying blue boxes anymore, instead she is mostly writing on a notebook, or later using a computer.
I could be stretching it, but when she's working on her notebook, her pencil also seems mostly red. Further implying that she is spending a bare minimum, just enough to help her in her goal.
A little after the first minute mark, after she has saved up enough coins, and has climbed high enough, we see her on her computer, clicking on a red square on her screen.
This is an important turning point in her life.
the computer warns her about this decision, as we see multiple errors and warning signs pop up on the screen, and finally we see the red eye itself appear on her monitor,
apparently feeling threatened by her choice.
Her co-workers don't seems to be too pleased with this neither. People dont like it when someone decides to take an ambitious chance to turn their lives around, and often try to make it look futile, or full on making it harder for you.
they try to stop her when she jumps out of the building, heading for the red central building.
The eye looks panicked, and tries to stop her, but she finally gets to top of the red building, and uses all the coins saved up in her to spend it on a panel, somewhere that normal people don't have access to. Reminding us how hard she Has worked for this moment.
not just to accumulate all the coins, but also to get access to the higher levels.
She succeeds.
We see the big red eye blow up. And now SHE is the RED EYE. She takes extreme joy in her new found power. We see her smile for the first time.
One thing I find particularly interesting is that the first thing she tries to mess with, is the the very lines that confine her.
She freely moves the canvas around, implying that she has complete control over even what is being shown to us.
In more technical terms, I find this visualization very "cool".
Its lonely up there, but she doesn't seem to mind at all.
She tests her control over others, watching them from a new point of view from above. Seeing them small and insignificant. She starts messing with them, a little sadisticly. (Who wouldn't)
Judging by the visuals, it seems that from this point of view, the system is actually starting to make sense to her, it seems so calculated and well designed. Everything is so organized and efficient.
For some reasons she is unable to hold the power for long, as we see the canvas regain control, as if the world does not allow a mere mortal to hold such power for long.
Even the mightiest and brightest, someday die and wither away.
In the end I guess its up to the audience to decide if the ecstacy at the top is worth the struggle. Or we should just succumb to the suffering, since we all end up down below in the end. In less than (two minutes) or so, according to the video.
(Though sadly this is not an accurate reprentantion of real life)
