  • Will this old tractor drive after 31 years in a hedge? In the final episode of Barn Find Fergie Gav and Jimmy drive their old Fergie tractor back to the spot where it was found finishing off this incredible rustoration project.
This project follows a Barn Find 1953 Ferguson TEF 20 Little Grey Fergie. This vintage tractor was found in a hedge where it had sat for 31 years. Can Jimmy de Ville (from Goblin Works Garage) and Gav (former RAF engineer) bring it back to life using their engineering, building, fabrication and make do and mend skills?
There might be extreme, dangerous and crazy measures needed to breath life back into this retro, vintage vehicle and once farming extreme machine.

Good job boys! I've enjoyed watching the videos! I have a 1953 petrol Grey Fergie which used to be my grandfathers which he owned since 1973. There is a bit of a story to it, I have so many fond memories of it from when I was a kid in the 90s. Pop died in 2001 (I was 9) and the farm was sold off and the tractor was sold too. I remember the day it was picked up and taken away, I thought that I would never see it again. As the years went on I wondered what came of the tractor and in 2015 I was on searching fergies on a sales app, and I found a tractor that looked extremely similar to pops but with a paint job. I showed dad and he certain that it was pops tractor! I was quickly on the phone to the owner and he confirmed that he was the one that bought the tractor from us all those years ago. 2 weeks later I got the money to buy it back and the rest is history!! I still can't believe sometimes on how lucky I am to have it it back!!

I watched Jimmy on the Late Brake Show idol chat this morning and then proceeded to binge all 16 episodes on a dreary Sunday. Absolutely brilliant and fabulous work, a big well done to both Gav and Jimmy for a great series. Top watching.

You just have to record the hydraulics being overhauled and hooking a plough up to her.
Back in 1968 as a 13 year old, I started helping out a family friend who had a smallholding with some pigs, 2 x 4 acre fields, a Fergie 35 ( basically the same tractor as yours with a different bonnet) with the same engine and a Ferguson single furrow plough.
After I had fed, watered and mucked the pigs out, it was onto the Fergie to plough the 2 fields, hence the reason I'd love to see yours hooked up to a single furrow Fergie plough and in the fields.
Great work lads, it has given me a bit of a shove to start on my dad's 1942 international W6 👍👍

I have just watched all the episodes in this series, August 2021 - found this after ‘Late Brake Show’ brown arm chair interview. Very well put together and great to see the journey and to see/ hear the grunts and excitement at every stage.

Can't pretend I didn't shed a tear here, my Father in law renovated a Fergie, which is still in the family, but sadly he died of the dreaded covid before we could show him this series, reminded me of him when you drove the tractor back to the farm, as Vinnie Jones once said "Gents, its been emotional" Thank you and good luck on the next project!

It's difficult to explain why in objective terms, but there is something incredibly elegant about that little old Fergie. A simpler tractor from simpler times. We could all perhaps learn something from her :-) Hats off to Jimmy and Gavin for giving her a new lease of life!

I've a 1946 Ferguson, no TE190, one of only a few left, fitted with a Perkins P3 engine, sat outside for many many years, finished the engine overhaul this winter.

I'll be honest, never in a million years did I think I'd be interested in watching the resurrection of some knackered old farm machinery, much less find myself invested in the progress, but you guys nailed it and I think a lot of that is down to the banter, the comradery and chemistry between you both, your relatability with your audience and of course, the off cuff cake and confectionary reviews. This has been great viewing through lockdown and Gav has definitely earned and proven himself worthy of his forthcoming TV debut. Best of luck fellas! I look forward to your next adventure with much anticipation. 💪🤘👍

Well done Lads, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the series from start to finish after stumbling across it while looking how to time our hedgerow tef ferguson that my 15 year old son and I have been restoring..Yours was in worse condition than ours. Luckily the bramble leaves had kept it reasonably sheltered but ours was still in a sorry state. I see you found some rear wheels, which we also needed but found some on an old MF 30 drill for £150. We're currently looking for a rocker pedestal and should then be able to fire our old girl up.

I have awaited every episode with anticipation and I think the two of you work really well together, there is most definitely a chemistry which comes across on screen. Please let your next project be something similar, possibly bringing an old series 2 or 3 back to life (but not lowered), anything really, as long as it’s good old basic engineering.

I am looking forward to more, and hopefully some time in the near future get to meet up, what will the next project be who knows? Whatever it will be it will be amazing. If you want to keep the original finish and not paint it get some Owatrol. Looks good on old tractors. The fergie seat is very comfortable and is great if you have a bad back. Swapped mine over on a MF 35 and took it on a 60 mile tractor club run. Worked brilliant and they do a cushion to fit to the seat as well.
