- We joined a circular group walk from Firle to Charleston Farmhouse, in the East Sussex Countryside.
The group walk was organised by Kevin & Cynthia from @KevinsRambles. And led by Andrew Norris.
We all met in the lovely village of Firle and made our way to Charleston Farmhouse, taking in the beautiful East Sussex countryside. At Charleston Farmhouse we had much needed refreshments and explored the gorgeous walled gardens.
Returning via a somewhat undulating and interesting route back to Firle. We finished the day with a very nice meal together at The Green Man in Ringmer.
It is always fun to join Kevin's Group on his walks. And both Kim and myself thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Glorious weather and it looked a nice leisurely walk too with a good group. Coffee and a flapjack well needed as the pace quickened the the sun got warmer and nice gardens to wander around too. Loved the corn fields lol, reminds me of a boggy walk I did a few weeks back but they were ferns not corns. The pub lunch must have been a welcome relief and the heat and exertions of the day and my first course would have been something long and very cold, cheers Alan
It topped at about 28 c in the end. It was a warm one. Funny that the group wouldn’t. Let me strip off for the way back 🤷🏻♂️. The corn or maize don’t know which tbh. Was a bit claustrophobic. Great walk and views Paul and Kim. Thank you. I enjoyed visiting Charleston and Monks House at Rodmell about 5 years ago. I have read many books about the lives of the Bloomsbury group, especially Virginia Woolf, Leonard, Vanessa Bell and Lytton Strachey. 🌾🌾🌾🌿🌿🌿

Good evening looks like a really great day its tough in the heat 🥵. Always great to head for a cafe definitely keeps you going something to look forward to. The gardens looked lovely. It really is a lot of fun. I do like a lone walk but these people ar awesome and so welcoming. A joy to spend time with.
Now there's a marvelous group to go on an adventure! Not sure if I'd be one to wander through the corn fields...I've seen "Children of the Corn"!! Yikes!! lol Sure is a wonderful garden! A good meal to end what looked like a warm day...awesome! Plenty of fun on this one!

Wow, that was a huge meet-up, Watto. It did look a bit of a warm day, the type of day I'd stupidly turn up with a black t shirt on. The gardens looked great, and the corn field would have made an epic drone shot, but after all that walking in the sun, I think the pub would be my favourite location. 😊
There were 25 on the walk with an extra 5 at the meal I believe. It was very enjoyable. Did think the drone would have been great in the cornfield but something else to carry. Great food at the pub finished it off nicely. 👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶♀️

Tactical breathers?…is that code for, ‘a pub’?!!! Final straw, blimey Watto, your jokes are worse than ours 😂. That farm house and pond is beautiful, and the gardens are lovely. That corn walk is a bit spooky. Looks like something from a horror film. Aw, poor Kim 😂. You didn’t kiss at the kissing gate haha. Ah, pub, now you’re talking!! Thanks guys. Yes it was supposed to be a flat walk but there were a few sneaky ascents for sure. The gardens were very nice and a welcome spot to stop halfway. The corn field was an effort as was one of the steep bits too. 30 of us descended on the pub and that was great. I have sussed why the Timelapse happens now. It is the quick capture function. If you press the record button it will be fine but if you hold it too long it enters Timelapse mode. Bloody GoPro. Deffo switching back to DJI next. Thanks for watching. The group is Kevin’s Rambles. Run by Kevin who has a UA-cam channel link is in the description of video. Also Facebook. He doesn’t only do walks but once a month a group meets up for a walk together and just catch up with each other and enjoy the countryside together. We have walked with the group a few times now and it is always good to socialise with lovely people like this. Kim & I enjoyed the day immensely and can’t wait to meet up with them again. How long was the walk altogether?
I grew up in the cornfields of Illinois, but I don't see corn very often in Britain .
Hi Dara, The flapjacks were needed to refuel. It was billed as a 4 mile flat walk. However my watch had it at around 6.5 miles and it certainly wasn't flat. i actually think the field may have been Maize but either way it was an impressive crop. thanks for watching. we are arracnging a group walk up here soon. So if you guys are around it would be great to have you along.
