    Thanks for the review. I have an Eastman E20 OM. Truly one of the best guitars I've ever played. Sold all my high end stuff.

    First! Damn that guitar sounds so good! I’m a huge Martin and Gibson fan but, the more demos I hear and see here makes me think that I am definitely barking up the wrong tree with those guys. I’m start to really think that Eastman is definitely the way to go for my next acoustic guitar. I am a huge fan of the E40 and DT30 and I’m beginning to sway towards one of those models. $619 for a hand-built, hand scalloped acoustic guitar? Yes please! I always enjoy hearing Quinton do his thing

    I have this exact guitar. What a tremendous line of guitars. I also have a E8D dreadnaught. I perform with both of these hand built guitars. Terrific sound and quality. I also own several Martin guitars and a Taylor so I think I can appreciate a well built/ well sounding guitar. Buy one soon as the prices may go up!

    When searching for the guitar I wanted to buy, I tried many Martins and Taylors (and others) and really liked them all (what's not to like) - but just not enough to lay down $1,500 to $3,500. Then in a really high end shop in Albuquerque, in a separate room from the Bourgeois, Santa Cruzes, Collingses etc., I found an Eastman 422AC - and from my very first strum I knew I had found my new guitar - at under $1,000!!!! More than a year later, I love my Eastman more than ever and am especially happy to report that I still think it easily holds its own against the competition. And of course, in the expert hands of Quinton - there's none better.

    Everyone's talking about Eastman guitars these days, notably the acoustics, mandolins too. And for good reason.
    I'd really appreciate a review on the Eastman maple jumbo (AC630 BD) if one comes your way. If it does, please put it in Quinton's hands, it appears a serious rival for the Taylor 618e and Gibson SJ200 that need no introduction.

    You guys should look at some Washburns, fantastic value for the money, even the laminates. I don't know if Music Villa carries them, but if they do, great stuff. This guitar sounds really nice. Looks vaguely like a Taylor, sounds real full. Ovangkol is really nice, it usually looks gorgeous too.

      Steven Shockley you’re right, it does vaguely looks like a Taylor. This guitar does sound really nice! I bought my first acoustic guitar this past December. I got a Breedlove Stage Exotic Ziricote with Ziricote back and sides and it sounds really great. I’m definitely thinking of Eastman for my next acoustic because they sound amazing

    The ac222ce sounds lovely!
    Have an question here from sweden.
    Im living to far away from an guitarshop and to be able to try out in person. I own an furch D21 with spruce top and Walnut back and sides. But i wanna buy an acoustic more suited for alternate tunings and some fingerpicking etc. Im looking for a guitar that has clarity but also have some depth and warmt and more balanced tones.
    Eastman AC222CE, Yamaha LL16 and yamaha FGX3 are some of the guitars in pretty much same pricerange im interested in. What guitar would you recomend of those 3?

    • @77guitarts22
      @77guitarts22 Рік тому +1

      It seems nobody answered your question yet. Well, I would say to consider this: These 3 are all Chinese made, but the only real hand built by Luthiers like old times is the Eastman. I have Yamahas and Cort, Furch, Taylor... and I never had a chance to try a Eastman... Man, after getting one I understand now what's the big difference in quality and actual soul of the quitar with these Eastman. You can feel they're not machine made ( in a good way ). So, I would go with Eastman if I was you. Yamaha is ok, it's a great quality but still they can't compete with Eastman

    This is the guitar I wish I had bought over the AC422CE. Wasn't aware of it at the time. Prefer this sound with more mid range.

    $619 for a guitar Taylor would sell for $3000. Oh nevermind, the Eastman is X braced. So that's even more power to the Eastman!

      ...and made in China. Unfortunately, Taylor, Martin, Gibson can't match the cheap labor (slave?) of China. But great example why we (U.S.) hear the overly common laments about "all of our jobs are going overseas." I'll pay those laborers in Nazareth, El Cajon, Bozeman, etc. for their efforts, dedication, craftsmanship. Other than that, it's great to be able to speak with or write to someone who speaks English.
      Nice little guitar though. I would consider this for the neighbor kid's 2-year guitar "career" ... nahhh, I would just buy a Taylor 114 (no elects, Tecate ... just the other side of the border,).
      ;-)

      @@DJWRailroad Right, well there's a discussion that could be had there about the quality of these Chinese workers, the oppression of their government, etc... It's a different world.... I've worked in an industry where US jobs are offshored to India and we learned that these workers willing to do $12.00/hr for what a US worker charges $40/hr for are living into what would equate to poverty in the US. So that's the hidden cost. Corporations have all this incentive to offshore labor the shareholders reap the rewards... The US worker is criticized for trying to earn an honest wage needed to support their quality of life... But with globalization what really happens is that US wages drop a bit and quality of life here drops so American workers can compete. Foreign wages eventually start to rise. If you see yourself as a globalist citizen then you probably like this outcome. If you'd rather conserve the sovereignty of your country and pay respect to the government and systems it has built then you very much dislike this outcome. There is no perfect system....

    • @DJWRailroad
      @DJWRailroad 5 років тому

      @@rmzzz76 - Real briefly "foreign wages eventually start to rise" and already have. China is beginning to experience the dilemma of the rising COG, of which rising labor costs have played no small part. That government is discovering quickly that you can have either a free-enterprise, capitalist society OR the remnants of communism (OK, OK, I hear the PC rumblings ... "socialism" then) but not both. The folks in China are getting a real taste of the global economy.
      Anyhow, we've gotten off subject and it's my fault! Not saying this little Chinese guitar isn't a good instrument, just that personal preferences would find me purchasing one of the Tecate guitars before the Chinese models, support our "neighbors" as it were, a tiny gesture for them "sticking" around to support their country (and their quality work which is very, VERY nice!).
