Chocolate Love Dust // Tasty Bit 76

I have decided, after publishing this video, that I am going to change the name of this lovely dust to.... DIRT... I think it will sound very diner-esque when I offer my guests DIRT for their waffles.
I discovered Chocolate love dust at the Villagio Inn and Spa in Yountville / Napa, California. I happened to get married at the Villagio, but for years before that, my husband and I would take advantage of last minute deals and drive an hour to Napa to escape. What I most looked forward to was the breakfast that comes with the room. This is no ordinary breakfast. It is everything you could want in a breakfast and more, including mimosas and bloody Marys. In the summer months, the Villagio adds a Belgian waffle station to their already abundant breakfast horn-o-plenty and what sets their waffle apart from all others is, you guessed it, a bowl of ground up chocolate chips.
This chocolate love dust is guaranteed to put a smile on waffles, pancakes, coffee, bananas, yogurt, oatmeal and anything that tastes great with chocolate.
If you forgot to get something for your Valentine, grind up some frozen chocolate chips and put it on whatever makes them happy.
HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE LOVE DUST / CHOCOLATE DIRT
1/4 to a 1/2 cup frozen chocolate chips. Freeze for a minimum of 1 hour
Place frozen chocolate chips in a bullet blender or mini food processor and pulse a few times.
I like my chocolate love dust to have a few mini chunks left in it, but you can make a fine dust by pulsing more and putting your chips through a metal sieve.
I use Guittard chocolate chips. They may be a buck more than regular chocolate chips, but Guittard chocolate is the best commercially produced chocolate in USA. It is the preferred chocolate of great American chefs.
You can usually find Guittard chips at Whole Foods or online.
