Sound like EDC is more like look at everything and make the best decision for the organization. Being a fan I love that but I don't know how you get rid of A. Boldin😂
What stands out to me is two things: Continuity and their emphasis on evaluating people more than players. Owner Steve Bisciotti Has been in place as at least a co-owner from nearly the beginning, like the Rooney family. And importantly, he made his money evaluating and supplying talent to corporate America. Decosta was a small school player who was hired as a grunt, as he describes. It's a badge of honor in the organization. A breeding ground for talent.
@@bobbymunroe4363schooled by Ozzie yet every season he neglects fortifying the trenches on both sides. Ozzie was phenomenal at building the trenches, can’t say the same about EDC.
@@Nationworld403 that could be true, but also miserably wrong. Player ratings on madden are directly related with their play and reputation. Game creators just don’t give ratings out like that, there’s careful deliberation that occurs to come to those decisions.
Baltimore is heavily driven by analytics, they are one of the franchises that sort of pioneered it like you heard him say they have been doing this since 2013 and they took inspiration from the mlb
Literally the best front office in the league . Ravens have the most pro bowlers since 2014 . And currently have the most players previously playing on the team in the league .
So smart and focused on building and maintaining an incredible organization and culture. Roles, people, top to bottom mission. When you build that up, it becomes self-propelling. Great draft picks and trades are a result of that foundation.
This is an awesom interview. They did good to get Lamar and I'm sure they're the most happy about it. But it's still pretty wild to me that they were willing to let him be taken by someone else. They saw more value in Haden Hurst than Lamar...it all worked out now. But that's still pretty wild
EDC I love ya but as a Kentucky resident and ravens fan, please don’t say louieville, 😂😂 jokes aside, what a great GM. His mindset on internals, the constant strategies, and attention to detail. People joke every dollar counts, but I take his tactical, economical, and diligent management as, managing like a Raven. I was born in Cincy and have paid attention to their off season moves through my family, you don’t get this everywhere.
“Never been a team that came back from double digit deficits” - playoff game against NE (BAL lost), down by 2 TDS twice, Flacco-led offense tied the score twice in the same game
Theres just now way with Him at the helm and Lamar in his prime we shouldn’t have a ring by now. It’s right there we gotta break through at some point 😈
@@ojm3724 I didn’t say that. If you remember when Tez caught that TD on the “Harbaugh” play he was stoked and said “he doesn’t have much to do with the offensive playcalling team” watch the clip. They don’t run the organization like that, roles roles roles. I’d be more inclined to say the penalty problems early on were on Harbaugh as a top down thing like you are talking about. But when you say that about EDC in an interview where he makes very clear his function, it makes me think you got mad 2 minutes in and stopped watching. And if we’re on that, Andrews hands top down ? Lamar missed throws this year, several, top down?
I listen to him and I realize Lamar def gonna have to ask for a trade after this contract! These guys really think they’ve improved! Eric Needs to get away from harbs because this minimilaists mindset is really holding us back! We need to win one he’s talking about success and all I see is failures especially from the coaches and GM’s especially harbs! These guys think they are so smart!
When you listen to him, you understand why the Baltimore Ravens are envied by most of the other organisations.
As a Ravens fan, nothing he said surprises me, I expect it from my team, its why I'm a fan.
When you’ve been schooled by Ozzie, you’ve been schooled by the absolute best.

Man.. Boldin will always be missed as a raven
In Ozzie We Trust!
In Decosta We Trust!
Best GM interview Ive seen. Crazy their model even takes madden ratings into account
Ikr
Which may be why we haven’t won since its inception but who knows….

I mean its a data point, I'd probably consider madden ratings too, it wouldn't play a huge part.
A rare insight of E.DC. The sharpest mind in the game 🏆🧠
blessed to have this kind of ownership, go ravens
This interview is so good. This is a underrated podcast

INCREDIBLE interview. This industry missed you, Todd. Keep the 🔥 coming my friend!

Ingraven misses nothing! 😂
True treat this is
Very insightful video. Definitely appreciate how he handles the job.
Best available is the motto of The Ravens organization and they are really good at evaluating players! 💜✊🏾
Todd, if anything you undersold this interview. I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of the series...good luck with Jerry Jones.
DeCosta has done an amazing job in Baltimore
This interview has me ready to leave work & start a new season of madden
Loved every bit of this thanks for the transparency.
W interview. Always love learning more about the ravens
We love you Eric!
Look at 3 new england area guys chatting it up. Much love from Quincy Mass
This interview ❤
Great interview. ya'll really picked his brain. Changed my view of him he's dedicated to his job and the organization.
Cool interview
HUGE get. EDC! Every Dollar Counts
They should make a movie about EDC what a genius!
EDC, the teams that make it far in the playoffs and go to the superbowl, have a dominant offensive line. Haven't seen that since 2019 .
Good interview

We have a big body guy his name is LIKELY 🤷🏿♂️

John gots to go
if the Ravens kept all their players, they would win the superbowl every year
Try to get a big body receiver for your 3 time MVP qb it’s year 8
He said it fam, he been trying and it ain’t worked.
Am I trippin or he called them Pissburgh 😂😂
The Indianapolis Colts, drafted Quenton Nelson (a Guard), instead of Jackson 😂😂😂.
Yo, Quinton is HOFer, don’t do that. Why would the Colts need a qb, when they had Luck at the time.
Fire John Harbaugh
Tradin Hayden 7:08
Ravens are lucky! Chargers got a piece of them with Joe Hortiz.
Ok Eric letting Ravens fans know. We about to lose Ronnie Stanley and some other players. lol
Why not ask him to explain his usage of Henry and LOSING???
He has nothing to do with game planning or play calling.
Listen to him talk roles, that’s not his role, that falls on Monken, not harbz, on Monken and the situation at hand.
@jacobsims8307 Can you say top down??? Losing the same way year after year you're just going to let it keep happening??🤡🤪💯 Really?
@bobbymunroe4363 HE has everything to do with personnel management!🤡🤪💯

In all that STILL don’t have the COACH. At the end of the Day do those players believe and love to play for the COACH.
dON'T QUIT YOUR DAY JOB. gm IS not IN YOUR FUTURE.

Sickest GM ever... id rather him over Ozzie
What? Stop it! Ozzie Built 2 Superbowl Champions. So Stop the Nonsense
John Harbaugh needs to go,
And who replaces him

Put down the pipe.
Yall have gotten mediocre players since since 2019
Zay Flowers, Kyle Hamilton, Tyler Lindebaum
You didnt bring ANY other qb in bc Flacco was your guy & Lamar was a filler🤡🤡🤡. Disgusting!
The Ravens drafted Lamar, and in the seven years since, they’ve won three playoff games. Hmmm. . .
the sky is blue
Love all of this...except the hat. Shoulda been an O's cap.
