Merci pour vos coms. Il est vrai que le chef a été remarquable.. sans parler du chœur qui est toujours exceptionnel à Genève. Par le "chant pur" j'entendais la carrière bel cantiste de Larmore, qu l'a certainement aidée ici, et le fait qu'elle ne soit pas tombée dans le piège des sons gloturaux ou à effet etc. L'autre document que vous mentionnez est extrait de la retransmission radio alors que mon document a été réalisé en direct avec des moyens bien inférieurs à la technique de la radio :)

Macbeth asks for a voice with contralto quality, and a soprano top.
Must say....she does a very wonderfull task.

No. Lady Macbeth is a dramatic soprano role. And Larmore is bad.

Totally agreed! I've always admired JL's renditions in Rossini, Bellini etc. but she now also is a new reference in Macbeth. Strong, powerful, pure, natural singing, changing colours and without the unnecessary excesses many add to this part. She really enters this part also with a strong scenic presence. Not to mention the other performers and the orchestra + conductor: from the most famous singer to the last person in the chorus.. this Macbeth performance just is magnificent and PERFECTION!
