    It's always educational to see what needs to be done from both sides of the sawblade. One side just as important as the other. Its neat seeing your finished pile all clean and uniform. Grandpa's brother used hard maple to turn candle sticks, baseball bats for the kids and table tops. Journey could be good sometimes challenging but we all have our journeys.

      Grandma's sister tried to kick me square in the N-sack, but luckily I've taken to wearing one of those full body attack dog training suits around Grandma.

    “ I must accept myself for what I am, not for what I think I should be.” Good advice for old timers such as I am, maybe not so good for someone starting their Journey. That’s from Anthony Hopkins, even older than I am!
    Thanks, Eddie!

    Enjoy your journey Eddie. I think I saw "consideration" as another word a while back, I think that is my favourite so far as it is so important to be considerate. Love your videos and I try to watch Mark's first, then yours, so I get a better picture of the end result, then think on the Word Of The Day. I think "industry" best describes your team there, you work so well together, like a well-oiled machine. All the best from a very wet North Wales, KR MT

    Hi Ed. That was rock maple!? 😲😲😳😳🙂😉👍❤️ Beautiful lumber. There's a lot of rock maple trees in Vermont. I cut up a lot 3 to 4 inch rock maple for firewood. It made beautiful fire coals. The word of the day Journey. Richard Park & me will agree. Rock musical group Journey. One of thier hit songs is: Don't Stop Believing. So. Everyone's life journeys that: Don't Stop Believing. Keep going no matter what. Thanks Ed. Say Hi to Mark. Have a good Sunday night the 29th. 🥰🙂😉👍❤️💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌳🪵🌌

    Kansas summed up journey most eloquently when they recorded the song Dust in the Wind. Even though a journey is a long and arduous thing that requires many steps that begin with just one, it is one of the most enlightening experiences that we will ever see. The odd thing is that there are journeys within the main journey that define who we are and what we will become in this life, and in what direction we will go in the next life

    Glad to see you wearing eye, ear and hand protection. We can't replace our eyes, and our hearing, once it is gone, we can't get it back. I only have one eye, so if I lose it, I am blind. My hearing isn't very good, but at least I can hear something.

    I was a safety manager for many years, so I notice things like that. I also worry about Mark, particularly because he only has one good eye. I only have one good eye, so if either of us loses that eye, our activities are essentially done. Watch out for Mark, particularly when he is clearing something from the blade.

    A question for the expert Eddie. I may be able to get a couple of Sycamore trees that came down in the last storm. My question is as I have never had something like that on my mill, are they worth turning into usable lumber or just pallet grade wood for dunnage ??

    • @TheEddie1014
      @TheEddie1014  Місяць тому

      Sycamore has always been an underrated wood if it’s big enough to 1/4 saw it’s quite unique. Just make sure you put it on sticks straight off the mill and keep it out of the sun. Ps it’s one of the only woods that won’t float when it’s green because of its water content
