    1. It's deceitful to your children
    2. Santa is treated like God
    3. Children begin to care more about what they're getting from "santa" instead of appreciating their parents/guardians for what they got them
    4. It teaches your children that they need to be "good" instead of knowing there's no such thing as a "good person/christian"
These are just my thoughts and point of view on the topic :)

My parents flat out said Santa was a lie and nowhere in the Bible. It never affected me at all as I grew older. We always had what we needed and any special toys we got if we had good behavior and good grades/ dad surprising us. It’s only weird to explain it to people now that I’m older. I completely agree with you.

I agree about possibly losing faith in Christ when you learn the truth of Santa. That happened to me when I was 12 yrs old. After learning that Santa was a lie, I started questioning my relationship with Jesus and eventually, rebelled from everything I once believed and was taught. It took me many years to regain my testimony in Christ back. I’ll do my children a favor and skip the Santa lie all together.

Me too! I’m so glad we are strong enough to step out of this world and their pagan roots. I have a daughter and she know Santa isn’t real, I always hear you’re gonna take Santa from your daughter and not give her gifts. Again it’s not about gifts or anything like that it’s a pagan ritual. Did you know Jesus wasn’t even born on December 25th the pagan Gods were. I will never lie to my daughter as I’m the only one trying to tell her the truth about everything and it’s hard friend real hard. I just keep praying God will show me the path to Him. God bless you and keep praying to him to give you wisdom and show you things. Like Paul I do believe he is false, he goes against things Jesus says and then tells us we are saved by grace..? No test everything Jesus never once said that! Hope this as helped you a little. I do believe keeping his 10 commandments are very important.

I always grew up with believing in Santa in a lukewarm Christian household so Christmas to me was never about Jesus. This is my first year as a Christian and my whole family now are true Christians as well. We made the decision to no longer celebrate Christmas because I personally don't feel right with it being a non biblical tradition, but this time of year is still joyous for us! We also decided we are only doing 3 gifts, which obviously goes for myself and my husband too. We decided on that so we can tie Jesus getting the 3 gifts from the wise men! We'll have them pick someone they want to give a gift to someone but never reveal you were the gift giver. To have them learn that giving gifts are best when they come from the heart and are from unselfish love. For example a neighbor that needs new slippers we would wrap the new slippers up and leave it on the porch and not reveal who it was from.

I also thought to myself why in the world is some made up home intruder going to get the credit for the gifts we give them, when in all actuality it's a blessing from the lord that we can afford to buy them a few gifts. So for the past 2 years I have told my girls that Christmas is the time when we celebrate the birthday of the one who made us and it's the love of Jesus and how giving and loving he is to us. Because of his mercy and forgiveness for our short comings throughout the year he shares his birthday presents with those who love him by blessing childrens parents with the heart and mind to give back to less fortunate and to give a few gifts to their children as well. So on out gifts we always write to : the girls love: Jesus it's been really good for them. They don't feel like they have missed out. Plus most importantly they don't feel entitled to a million presents for doing nothing. It's crazy how our minds can trick us into the ways of the world. Like in the world they preach all time to our children to never take candy from strangers but then encourage it on Halloween. Lol As children of God we are to come out from amongst them and live in the world but not of it. I'm finally understanding the meaning of those scriptures. Great video ! God bless you . Merry Christmas

I love this. I was a very young mom and it was so hard for me having this unpopular opinion where people would act like I was a mean mom but at the end of the day my daughter knows the full story and she knows that I would never lie to her. My kids often impress me with their discernment and they actually both really dislike Santa on the whole anyways so it works out.

I grew up knowing Santa wasn't real but I remember one year secretly putting some pieces of bread in the letterbox since apparently Santa and the reindeer *magically* know where to find their food. I didn't tell anyone in my family, snuck out in the morning to find the bread still there, crusted from the air, and muttered "I knew it". That was at least 15yrs ago and only told my Mum about it last year 😂

For me growing up LDS, my family has always had santa and made time for Christ. I grew up believing in the christmas magic of Santa and also acknowledging that the main focus of the holiday should be on Christ.
For me Santa should be an embodiment of everything that is good about the season of Christmas, giving, being kind, giving generously to those around us. I think as a Christian you can wholeheartedly serve God and celebrate Christ while also letting children believe in the magic of Santa. But that's just my experiences

My husband and I have a 7 year old son and we agreed before we got married that we would not teach our kids to believe in Santa. And I feel like he's better off for it. I also remember how angry I was with my mom when I found out Santa wasn't real as a kid. I felt really hurt and betrayed. Our son still loves Christmas and he still gets gifts but most of all it makes us feel good to know that we're not lying to our son. We can't expect him to tell us the truth if we're not honest with him.

You made some very wise, well-thought-out points. God bless you for making controversial videos to encourage fellow believers to draw closer to Christ and walk even more firmly in His Way.
I grew up in a strong Christian home and my parents also did not celebrate Santa. All my sisters and I agree we had an incredible, Christ-filled, memory-soaked childhood and none of us feel like we missed out on anything important. I’m actually incredibly grateful that my parents did the “weird” thing and kept Santa out of our home (and now my husband and I do the same - ALL Jesus, no Santa). As children, we would watch some Christmas movies - it wasn’t a free-for-all; my Mom kept boundaries even for Christmas movies, but we knew about Santa, we watched a few movies with Santa, but we were grounded in the Word of God and knew “Saint Nicholas” was a godly man who lived a long time ago and lived a generous life to help people. And we knew other kids believed in the pretend story, but as a child, it was all just knowledge to us. I remember being little on Christmas Eve, and pretending on my own that I would be listening for Santa’s reindeer (it was all around us at school and on the TV, there was no getting away from it 😉) but I fully knew and believed it was pretend, and I was a very imaginative child, so it was fun for me to lay on my bed and pretend about Santa and his reindeer. But on the other hand, because I’m a certain personality, and was always super drawn to fantasy and fiction and pretend and mythical things, I am very glad my parents steered me clear of things that could’ve been stumbling blocks or snares for me - such as Santa, D&D, The Sims, secular fantasy fiction books, magic, etc, because things that take the place and importance of God in our lives are different for each person, but losing myself in the fantasy/imaginative things of life was especially tempting for me.
I’m grateful my parents raised my sisters and I with Christ at the center of everything, and everything compared to His Word, and no lies told for fantasy’s sake. And now my husband and I are raising our children in the same way. 🙏🏼📖❤️

It just felt weird to me. BUT I will say - now that I’m older and have 2 of my own kids, I 100% see the reasoning behind why my parents did what they did and I swore I would do the Santa thing for my kids but now I’m really not sure what to do. They are young enough not to understand yet so I have some time to talk it over with my husband. But I’m really feeling in my heart the Santa thing is not the way to go for us. I don’t want my children to celebrate Christmas for any reason other then celebrating Jesus and what He did for us. I also agree with what you said about the gifts. I don't believe in teaching that Santa is real by any means but if they question the validity of Jesus then you need to be ready to explain why he is the way truth and life. If you are a Christian you should not teach your kids to believe in Santa. You should not believe in Santa and you should not grab things and participate in things that involve him (Santa) (same as Halloween)...
How about tell them the real meaning of Christmas...
    Tell them about Jesus.
As a woman of God and as the world is getting closer to an end because I believe Jesus is coming back soon, and we need to start teaching our kids the right way and even others...
    Read Probverbs 22:6 KJV
... also we’re all sinners even babies when they come out the womb ... hey even in the womb. We need to teach them godly ways from birth pray with your newborn pray with your tween or teen etc ... do all that ... show everyone the right way to do things because we can't keep going around talking so sweet because we don’t want to be hated or looked at bad or whatever ... we have to be honest.

"Rejoice, rejoice, for into you this day is born in the city of David a savior who is Christ the Lord." @@marydidyouknow5826 yeah, but we still don't know the day that Jesus was born. So we are celebrating on a day that wasn't even his birthday. And even then, yes they rejoiced, but not once are we ever told to celebrate his birthday on a specific day as a holiday. And all that people do in regards to Christmas.
Also the bible records that people have CHRIST gifts, not once does it say they gave each other gifts. and if you see how much americans spend on Christmas and other holidays, it's ridiculous. In my humble opinion, the best way to 'gift Christ' as the wise men did in a sorts is volunteer around the time of Christmas.
I don't judge people who celebrate it differently, but people have tried to twist alot of things in the birth of Christ to say Christmas is biblical. And that's where my problem comes in. You need to talk about Jesus and how gracious he is towards all of humanity, the only mediator between us and God the Father. The greatest thing God in Heaven ever did was give us Jesus, to die in our place, and make us spotless. With the power of all 3 (God the Father, God the Son, and The Holy Spirit) we can be convicted of when we do bad things, and continue to look to him for strength. Remember, it just wasn't the sin of all Christians, Jesus died for the sin of the entire world. To the Samaritan woman who had 5 husbands, Jesus said go in peace and sin no more. To the adulterous woman about to get stoned to death, his grace is so amazing that he said "he without sin may cast the first stone" and came to her defense! God is a loving God and gracious God. We will fall, and continue to fall in our walk on this earth. For all fall short of the glory of God and no person is good. Each person is unique in their own addictions, struggles, and battles. This world is a tough place. As long as there is blood on the cross, we will all enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Speak more about God's grace and his mercy.
Believe in him, and you will be saved. (You will still struggle, fight the flesh, and stumble.)
Pick yourself up and keep going.

One year my parents decided to not wrap the toys they got my brother and I. Instead leaving them out like Santa would. (This was a tradition my dad's family did) It is a strong memory. But I think it is because I was both overwhelmed and at the same time underwhelmed.
Overwhelmed because I did not know what the pay attention too gift wise. And I was underwhelmed because there was no opening the gifts. I like unwrapping gifts. One of the big reasons I prefer boxes and wrapping paper over gift bags. So anyways, not having gifts to unwrap was boring. And made the day feel incomplete.
We never did the whole look what Santa brought you thing again. And from that point on it was made absolutely clear that Santa was just a fun character, but Jesus is the real reason we celebrated Christmas.

I 100% agree with you that celebrating Jesus’s birthday is more important then following the worldly traditions of Christmas because after thanksgiving there’s Black Friday and most people tend to be greedy and selfish and forget to be thankful for what they have like family and friends and loving our neighbors and instead they have to buy everything that’s on sale and buying the most stuff for there kids and fighting over it and someone ends up getting hurt or arrested and sadly people don’t understand that and I do believe teaching your kids at an early age about what Christmas is truly about and its so important so they don’t grow up thinking material things is everything cause it doesn’t truly make you happy with having stuff but Jesus is the only person that can give you joy and peace and to love others that’s why Jesus is the reason for the season not Santa Clause but it’s ok to watch Christmas movies as long as you teach your kids that it’s only make believe and that it’s just for fun and that we ask God to guard our hearts from it and remember that he sent his only son Jesus to pay for our sins and that our sins can be forgiven if we believe in him because he was born on Christmas Day for a reason.

I agree. We did the same thing raising our children, where we just told them Santa was a fun Christmas story, but not real. I didn't want to trick them like that. But I did teach them not to spoil it for others. Everyone has different opinions about it, and that's okay.

I believed in Santa until I was in 7th grade...and I’m 24 now 😂😂 I found out when I was still awake and saw my mom’s slippers under the door and then heard her putting the presents under the tree. I was SOOO upset and mad about it, but I always believed in Jesus. Now, the Elf on a Shelf thing, I would never do. I’d probably create something else, maybe have a Jesus figure that would leave Bible verses and suggest charitable actions that we could do as a family: giving a toy or two, helping other people, etc.

My brother and I believed in Santa when we were really young but I don't think it was enough to where we were sad/devastated when we found out he wasn't real. I can't even remember when I stopped believing so it obviously didn't make a big impact on me.
I remember an instance when I was around 10 or so and was telling my mom how Santa and Jesus had a lot of similarities and I remember thinking that "we should be good because Jesus says to rather than because Santa says to."

Quality over quantity is something I learned pretty quick from my grandparents. Interesting reasoning too... Makes you think... Kinda thinking I'll do it similarly now. Never thought about that type of stuff. Didn't really bother me when I found out about Santa, but your reasons definitely make sense.
