    Hi All - I got a couple different questions on my computer setup - My specs are as follows -
    AMD A10-7800 Radeon R7 Processor
    8 GB RAM
    Graphics Card - Nvidia GeForce GTX960
    Windows 10 Operating System
    Here are Twilight Render's Recommended Specifications from their website - "For a decent "starter" rendering machine, we recommend 4GB of RAM, a quad-core/4 thread CPU, and a 1GB RAM GPU independent of the CPU (combination CPU/GPU are common for most entry laptops). For a professional working on 3D graphics we recommend 8GB (or more) of RAM, 4 core/8 thread CPU (or better), 2GB RAM GPU (or more), and SSD hard drives. Twilight Render does not render using GPU, but uses the GPU for hardware acceleration in the post-process function of rendered images such as tone mapping, bloom, vignette, etc."
    You can view a copy of the image I created here - i.imgur.com/2sFcK2i.jpg - In future renders, I'd like to work on the graininess, but I think it worked out pretty well!

      TheSketchUpEssentials Thanks Justin. As I thought to keep up with the game I'll need a new computer. Really enjoy watching your videos, the easy and more complex. Cheers, Col.

    Your videos are perfect, your explanation on the material is focused on teaching and that's the good thing. Some times you a bit redundant in your videos, but that helps on understanding and remembering, Thank You.

      Lol - Probably so. It's hard to balance between repetition and just running through the content once, but I do my best :) - Thanks for watching!

    thank you so much i started to believe in sketchup more than 3dsmax because of your helpful tutorials. man sketchup is way easier and simple to use than 3dsmax.

      It is far easier to use than 3DS Max, which is one of the reasons I like it. Thanks!

    Hi Justin, love your Twilight render videos - I was wondering if you were considering doing any more in depth videos on twilight lights, i.e. emitters and give a better understanding of the settings used for different environments
    thanks
    Ivan

    This is great! Question though - the reflection in the glass has the interior objects behind the clouds in my sky - can that be adjusted?

    Hey thank you for such a great video. Can we install v-ray and twilight render both in the skechup or else it will create a problem in software?

    Good job Justin! I would be interested in a video on the post process options. I am getting real nice results by try and error but I have troubles understanding those options. Perhaps is this because English is not my native language. Greetzzz from the Netherlands!

      Hi Willem - I'll try to take a closer look at them - honestly, I feel the same way - their effects don't seem to be well documented anywhere, so I'm just using trial and error as well to get the results I want. There isn't a lot of beginner oriented info out there for rendering, which is why I wanted to make these videos, but it also means I'm having to learn a lot of stuff from scratch too! :) Thanks again for watching!

    Hi Justin, enjoying the series of tutorials.
    Perhaps you can put a link to the final render so that we can get a better look at the details?
    I'm also interested in the specifications of your computer setup.

      @Thesketchupessentials  7 років тому

      Hi Paul - that's a good idea - I'll see what I can do about getting the image up on my website for closer inspection. I'll take a look at specs when I get home. Thanks for watching!

    twilight renders have a lot of noise. Is there a way i can easily get rid of them?

    Thank you Justin. Again, this video is extremely helpful to those of us new to rendering in Sketchup and Twilight. Do you have links to some of the models you have rendered in your tutorials? It might be helpful for those of us following along that are slow at modeling.
    It is very helpful to see the location of controls with explanations of control vocabulary. Other tutorials have glossed over some of that information.
    Great job!

      Hi John - I may try uploading these to the 3D warehouse in the future so people can download them. Thanks for the idea, and I'm glad the videos are helping!

    Hi Justin.
    Just wondering, with all the labour intensive work your computer needs to do for all the rendering what, in your opinion, is the minimum requirement cpu required to do all that?
    I think I'm going to need to update 😖

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  7 років тому +1

      Hi Colin - I'll take a look at my specs when I get home and post an update - It's kind of a medium range PC from two years ago, so it's nothing special, but I can't remember the specs off the top of my head - Thanks!

      Hi again Colin - you can find the recommended specs from twilight render here - www.twilightrender.com/index.php/what-is-twilight/faq - also, I left a comment above with my PC setup in case you wanted to see what I'm using. Thanks again for watching!

      I don't understand what you're asking. This should work on 2017 or 2018 - are you sure you're using the desktop version of SketchUp?

    Great video. I started using twilight home version about a month ago. Do you think it is worthwhile to buy the pro version?

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  7 років тому +1

      Hi there Gerrit - I think it depends on what you're trying to do. If you visit this page, Twilight has a great comparison of the features of the pro version - www.twilightrender.com/index.php/what-is-twilight/hobby-vs-pro - generally I'd say to not buy the pro version unless there's a feature included in that version that you want, so take a look and see! Thanks for watching!
