Body found in Buffalo Bayou identified as man who went missing after a night out in downtown Houston

- Family members said they were notified that the body of their missing loved one was pulled from Buffalo Bayou earlier this week.
I had a roommate storm out drunk and jump in his minivan. I even tackled him once to stop him, but I figured I would be arrested if I hurt him, so I stopped fighting him. When he drove off, I called the police right away. I doubt they did anything about it, which meant he just became an unrestricted DUI menace to the streets. But at least I did my part.
He drove around till he ran out of gas, then parked it and hitchhiked home. He lost his glasses and a shoe in the process. He didn't remember where he left his van. The cops called and reported they had found it stripped and towed it. He told them to just keep it.
I felt like a narc, but I dug through his stuff and found his mother's phone number, and she finally realized just how bad of an alcoholic he was, so she came and picked him up, saying she was forcing him into rehab. She thanked me for speaking up, because he had been shining her on while he was here at college, away from the family home.
You can stick to the bro code and hold secrets till someone ends up dead. Or you can catch a little flak and save a life. Your choice.

Some people can't handle their liquor and flip out. He was a grown adult and responsible for himself. This is just one example of people doing really stupid things that get themselves killed when they're under the influence of alcohol and or drugs! Everybody wants to blame someone else, blame the person that was drunk and couldn't handle their liquor!
That makes no sense. Even if he got out of the car, it's not like he immediately ran off into another car. If hes drunk as they say he was, he wouldn't have gotten very far

I not saying his roommates are innocent, but their story is definitely possible.

People are so crazy these days you just never know. Could have had something put in his drink and lost it. Could have been getting drugged and raped by the roommates and found out. Could have been he was never even at the bar and died at home from an overdose. There’s a million different things it could be these days and you cant trust nobody is telling the truth…

The friends made this look like an accident to cover their crime .
Unfortunately it is hard to determine cause of death when a body has been in the bayou so long. It's highly unlikely he threw himself in there.

I think that this was an tragic case of someone that had too much too drink lost his sense of directions fell in .😢 but roommates say in transcrits that he jump out of the car when they try to get him and went looking for him. The body was found like mile and half from that spot roomates say he jump out of the car. very sad 😢 my prayers to family

True Friends stay together period. Walk you to your door,or wait till you get in,call & watch each others back. Who would just abandon their friend out there to fend for himself. He did not have real friend they were party friends not loyal nor caring.
I’m definitely that kind of person when I’m drunk. But I don’t think my friends would just drive off and leave me out alone.
This story sounds familiar.... I remember two other gentlemen who we're found in the bayou weeks apart after a couple of drinks at a bar a couple of years ago.
Alcohol and bodies of water don't mix. Alchohol and indescretion being the key factors here. Sad that the family is going through this but there is no fould play suspected. Always have an accountabillity buddy to watch your back when going out.

ehhh, i had friends like thst. who cant control their alcohol 😂....when we were younger, my friend took off running at a red-light. we didn't find him until next day whrn someone founded him laying down on an empty bayou....so i believe it....we aint gonna b running behind a guy who has alcohol issues

Stop blaming the friends / roommates. Dude was an adult. If their stories didn't add up the cops would sniff that out and investigate them. They aint stupid. They do this every damn day. Bottom line is that some people just can't handle their liquor and they act crazy. We've all known "that guy" or "that girl". And usually bad things happen to them eventually... and if they survive the bad things sometimes that's a wake up call to stop drinking. But sometimes they just don't make it that far before ending up in the morgue.
