Just a few months ago Emily D’Angelo became the talk of the town as she won the Operalia competition.
Not only did she walk away with the first prize, but she was also the audience’s favorite.
Her performance blew audiences away and now at just 24-years-old, she has established herself as one of the biggest rising stars of her generation.
I wonder what her voice would sound like in a heavier, dramatic role. She’s wonderful!

One of the best “Una voce”… I’ve heard, and I’ve heard many.
Well, maybe she should have won...but I think a lot of this is rushed and many of her movements and actions seem manufactured and disconnected. However, what a wonderful young voice! Love how high and bright her dark mezzo voice is.

She didn't win because her chest voice is not sufficiently developed for a mezzo and because she is slightly rhythmically unreliable.

She has material but her timing is wrong with everything in her acting. An amateur for sure. She needs to study more! She is a lyric mezzo with a large voice!
