    I’ve been watching your videos for many years and this Spring I finely decided instead of just talking I was going to start a POD passive business and within a few weeks I made 2 sales!! I’m a legally blind designer so quite honestly if I can do this anybody can!! Thanks for the video.. I look forward to future videos to come!! :)

      Thanks so much. It really is easy to do and even before making any sales I was thoroughly enjoying the entire process of designing and uploading my designs. I do have a few questions. Are there any website recommendations for making and uploading digital artwork passively? And secondly, can you use place it to design and upload books to KDP publishing for books? These are just a few things I’ve been trying to sort out and would appreciate any advise you can give!:) thanks again!

    • @GregGottfried
      @GregGottfried  8 місяців тому +2

      I agree, it's a business that doesn't come with much stress, deadlines, or strict rules to follow (all the things I've hated about other jobs/businesses lol).. Great questions. My favorite passive POD sites are Amazon Merch On Demand, Redbubble, and Teepublic. Spreadshirt is another one worth mentioning too, smaller but just as good and easy to start selling on. As for placeit, I've never actually ventured into the POD books on their site. I know they do book mockups, but I'm not positive on the actual book contents. I would look into Canva as a potential good designing option for book layouts and such. I hope that helps!

    Hey Greg, I have an idea for a topic for a video - the dangers of infringing copyright. I think many people, especially beginners overlook the dangers of it, or are simply not aware something they use might be copyrighted. And there are also people who simply don't care because they think the worst thing that can happen is having their store shut down. Couldn't be further from the truth... I'm currently being sued for copyright infringement for a listing that I don't know if even made ANY sales at all. It feels like my entire life is going down the drain right now. The situation is so surreal that some moments I feel like it's a bad dream and I want to wake up out of it. The lawsuit seeks compensation in the MILLIONS of $. This is one of the so called "SAD scheme lawsuits" that mass-sue online sellers. In the lawsuit I am in there are hundreds of people being sued at once. Look up what "SAD scheme lawsuits" are and maybe make a video about the dangers of infringing copyright.

    • @GregGottfried
      @GregGottfried  8 місяців тому +3

      Thanks for the suggestion, I've just jotted it down in my video list notes. Dang, sorry to hear you're caught in that. It's frankly bad ethics law firms trying to make money by casting a huge net. The facts of the matter are thy aim for foreign copyright infringement cases and try to get lucky. In my opinion, if you inform them that your listing did not make money, or very little, and remove the listing from your account, I don't think there's much else for you to do. They would have to make the claim in your local court, which would cost them a lot of money to do, and if they know there's no money to be made from your listing, then it doesn't make any sense financially for them to move forward. I think they are trying to find the cases where the listing has made a ton of money and then push forward on those cases, but they cast a massive net to try to find those. I hope that's helpful to know!

    • @pawninwordsandsoon
      @pawninwordsandsoon 8 місяців тому

      @@GregGottfried Yes, your response is helpful. They are very unethical and their goal is to extract as much money from settlements as possible. They are aware in most cases judgements can't be enforced, but they rely on the people being sued not knowing their rights and being fearmongered by default judgements in order to make them agree on a settlement. I've already consulted lawyers in my home country and from what I understand I should be safe, however that law firm is very aggressive and keeps insisting on settlement (basically blackmailing me) claiming they will do everything possible to enforce the judgement. Very unpleasant and stressful situation. Even knowing I'm "Safe" their constant threats are very disruptive and cause me stress

      Hi, can you elaborate on what kind of design this was? I'm a bit confused at this point as how to use canva in a safe way for t-shirt design.

    • @pawninwordsandsoon
      @pawninwordsandsoon 8 місяців тому

      @@ruthpospisil9768 Canva is safe to use as long as you use combinations of elements. But you can't simply take a single element from Canva and use it for commercial purposes. The design I'm being sued for is 100% custom and my own work, I didn't use Canva or other similar platforms, I designed it from scratch. And as far as I understand they don't even sue me for the design itself, but rather for using a specific word (which is the name of one of their products) in my listing's title. Totally ridiculous and shameless accusations.

    • @pawninwordsandsoon
      @pawninwordsandsoon 8 місяців тому

      @@ruthpospisil9768 The design is my custom artwork and I made it from scratch. When it comes to Canva, as long as you use combinations of elements to create your own design, it's fine. But you can't simply take a single element from Canva and use it for your work

    Thank you Greg...have been watching your videos and they have some great insights. I do have a question though, have been trying to create accounts on various Print-on-Demand websites now. I live and work in The Bahamas and Amazon Merch on Demand while it does let you add an address from The Bahamas, it doesn't accept a Bank account from this country so my account setup doesn't complete. Teepublic lets you use Paypal but even that doesn't let you add a Non-US bank account, although I have been using that account now. Any ideas how to get through these barriers or websites that I can also use to start Print on Demand living outside the US?
