Immigration is the most visceral result of the betrayal by our political class over the last 30yrs, many other things that have been done are of equal importance and have to be reversed and will require intelligent heads to put things right. Trump is doing it for America someone hopefully Farage will do it for us, but it will be done and must be done right.

Why would any voter want to vote for Farage, I call it the Farage party because when he goes, it goes, he wants to abolish the NHS and state funded pensions, read their Manifesto, it's 10X worse than the truss madness, all so he can cut tax rates for the very richest in our country.

I’m ex Labour all my life I hate the Torys I’ve been voting UKIP / Reform for the last 5 years. Wrong. Look at the turnout at the last election. Very low. Disgruntled tories sat on their hands, and many people who might have voted for Starmer switched vote to either Lib Dem or Reform. Starmers vote share was down. Whatr Reform have done since is to start to organise into a credible party. It is probably that more than anything else that sees their vote share increasing. They are building a base and taking council seats.

Nature abhors a vacuum. I'm old enough to have seen the collapse of many well established institutions and a common factor is that they start to take their " customers" for granted, often progressing to a complete distaste for them. At this point, somebody else moves in and takes their supporters from them. It happened in industry, BSA, British Leyland, etc and is likely to happen in politics, despite the resistance from the legacy organisations involved.
At its heart, the issue is poor leadership and accountability, leading to a system that serves itself, rather than performing the function it was intended to do.
It will reform ( Reform?) but not before incredible damage has been done to our way of life and standards of living. We have been seeing signs of this for a decade or 2 now, and finally the facade of competence is crumbling. It will be very messy but is inevitable and vital to our survival as a nation and society.
I'm glad Spiked is on the right side of this argument.

I was out leafletting for Reform yesterday for a by election in Dudley. Sixteen people turned up to help the candidate. We met the conservative candidate on his own canvassing- there were 4 of us working that area. It's a 'safe' Labour seat with an absolute majority at the last election in 2023, but we now have the resources to put up a candidate even in 'no hope' wards. Reform now have MP's, enthusiasm and money; all the other parties have no answers to the problems that the people see.

Enough time for reform to drop the ball or for Labour to potentially make a miraculous turnaround and make the country better. It's far too early to be getting too cocky. Keep pushing, keep fighting and keep rebelling against the status quo until the very moment the polls close.

    we need to vote reform

As an American, that Reform only got 14% in your election, boggled my mind and really spoke to the smallness in thinking of the average UK voter. She says most people now switching to Reform don't know what they stand for, that seems to be endemic to voters of all parties, or else what is the public so dissatisfied with, they've gotten everything they've voted for.
It was one election, one little election, and the sentiment I heard from the British mainstream sources was that the idea of voting in Nigel Farage, a man just slightly to the left of 2008 Barack Obama, was an unthinkable contingency. Voting for him even just ONE time. Instead it's apparently far smarter to just prolong the pain and dysfunction by voting for the same thing you already don't want and hoping some magic will happen to make it work this time.

Spot on analysis of the situation.Typical of Labour that they go into 'denial mode' when faced with unpleasant facts. As for the Tories- why? What is the point of them?Reform are going to be an increasingly significant Party. The others will just have to face that fact.

I never understand why the chattering liberals say that REFORM have no policies, if you watch any REFORM conference then you know exactly what they are about. In any event when we are told what Labour and Tory policies are and then they then go and do something completely different so how can Labour and Tories call REFORM out !!!
