    Hey Charmaine!!! Praise God! It was accidentally that I checked out your videos... May be accidentally for me but yes, well planned by our father in Heaven I believe!! My name is Amylin.... The daughter of the guys you see in the profile pic... I from India. Being honest ,when I first saw the title of the video... I just went nuts 'cause I didn't find it realistic for someone to tell you how to sing technically correct, our Christian songs which are spirit led I thought. I thought it just came from your heart and worship for me is a daily process and not a one-time thingy.. But anyways I gave it a chance clicked your videos patiently heard it all, promising to not be judgemental from the start. And then when I was done,.... I just said one word PRAISE THE LORD
    This was amazingly blessed. I felt it. People generally don't give their best when it comes to singing for the Lord... They think only when in a profession you need to be picture- perfect. We always tend to give God our second best. But yes praise God for people like you, who use their God-given talents for His glory alone. You'll be in our prayers. If a life of true worship and your vocal classes are merged; the Heavens rejoice!! We bless the name of the Lord and change the world around us. Amen I pray. Thank you....

      Hello! Thanks for your note! Absolutely - my heart is not to teach about "how to sing" for the sake of perfection... or to bring glory to ourselves. But so that we can remove distractions from the worship environment... and be free and unhindered to praise and worship the King! And -- we are made in His image and we are a reflection of God's glory! God deserves our best, and as worship vocalists, we have a responsibility to protect and nurture the vocal instrument He has given us as singers! God bless!!

      @@worshipvocalist Have you got any advice for someone like me who is aspiring to become a part of the music team but is too shy to audition?☺ I've already sent word that I'll go for the audition but I feel shy to actually come in.😂😃😢 This, although I have sung for a choir for several years.

    this is great... was waiting however for you to deliver the full song at the end including all of the tips you suggest. i can only imagine you would have really did justice to that song if you actually sung it. but anyway thanks for the tips.

    Your videos are super interesting. I've never heard singing talked about like this with the idea of using other sounds in place of words to activate tones and resonance. So cool! I'd be interested in your opinion on vocal runs in worship. I think they are used frequently still in contemporary worship songs (taya smith) but there usually used in most songs at the end of phrases. What do you think about that kind of use of runs verses current gospel singers that have a ton of vocals runs throughout a song? (Tasha cobbs) I love both styles personally.

    • @worshipvocalist
      @worshipvocalist  7 років тому +2

      Hey Zack - yeah this completely revolutionized the way I did things vocally (and coached others!) when I learned this method! Really great question... and a tricky one to answer because it all depends!! Depends on the song... on the person delivering the runs... etc. etc. etc. I believe we are a reflection of the glory of God and we don't need to be afraid of stealing His glory... He is a creative, detailed, beautiful God and when we create beauty, we reflect His glory! Licks and runs are beautiful, in the right context, and when they are delivered HUMBLY (worshipful, giving glory to God... not to draw attention to yourself) and ACCURATELY (runs need to be clean... when they are messy, off pitch, and unrhythmic, they are super distracting). Both Taya Smith and Tasha Cobbs are examples of licks and runs done beautifully and in a way that gives immense glory to God!

    • @ZackSmithmusic
      @ZackSmithmusic 7 років тому

      Thanks for your response! I completely agree. It's all about humility and accuracy. I think it's about the run feeling like a natural outcome of emotion and praise. Not forced or about us looking talented but about bringing Him glory. I loved what you said about when we create beauty we reflect his glory. Amen! Thanks for creating these great videos.

    • @worshipvocalist
      @worshipvocalist  7 років тому

      Absolutely, I love what you said about the run feeling "like a natural outcome of emotion and praise" -- so true! We bring him glory by stewarding our vocal instrument... and increasing our skill not for our own glory but so that we can reflect his beauty!
