Some is on purpose, some is arguably accident. In every case it is a red card because common sense judgment alone should have sufficed to prevent that move.

If football authorities really wanted to stamp out some of this excessive brutality. They could do it overnight by letting players know that if they injured a player in one of these acts of brutality then they would be suspended for three game beginning when the other player was able to play again. While ever the other plyer was injured they would be ineligible to play and would not be paid.

Actually, most of the kicks to the face are unintentional. For the most part they're trying to reach the ball and probably didnt see a smaller guy coming to head the ball. Its unfortunate and obviously a red card, but more out of recklesness than intent and malice. The real dangerous stuff in this video are the diving tackles to the ankles of players. They're definetly out to injure.

Just so you guys know, every single one of those plays was an act of aggression. Even the few where they seem to lift their legs a bit too much, they know what they are doing, they play soccer 5/6 days a week for decades. They know they won't be able to stop the play fairly so they go for the foul. But the vast majority there is straight up aiming to harm the other player not thinking about the game at all.
