“Dorly composed ‘So Angela’ a short time after her mother passed away. She also wrote lyrics to go with the melody.
In Hebrew, the song is called “Yesh Ve’adam”, which can be loosely translated to ‘Sometimes a Man’: “Sometimes a man leaves his home to wander... ...and he doesn’t know that he has not a day, and he has not a tomorrow.”
After her mother’s death, Dorly has kept referring to her by the nickname “Angela”, which is how she came up with the English title.
Since the beginning, I knew “So Angela” would have to be placed towards the very end of the album, one track before the last. Barak and Evi played so lyrically and deeply here, with much sensitivity to the composition and its meaning.“ - Tom Oren
