Time and time again, Disney has created beautiful, yet unachievable dreams that will crush anyone who is just out here trying to travel second star to the right and straight on til morning. But what they don’t know is that on top of all this misinformation, there is even more disappointment that lies beneath. We’re about to ruin your childhood by diving deep into 25 dark theories that will sully your memories forever. First up we have a couple Peter Pan theories. One that he is actually the Grim Reaper, one posits that Captain Hook is a former lost boy and another suggests that Hook killed The Little Mermaid’s mer-mom. Theory four is that in Cars, humans are extinct because the very vehicles their built rebelled against them. Theory number five is that Alice in Wonderland is actually tripping the entire time she’s down the rabbit hole. Theory six says that Carl from UP! Is actually a ghost! Theory seven suggests that Gaston from Beauty and the Beast killed Bambi’s mom. Theory eight is from The Lion King and tries to convince us that Nala isn’t even in love with Simba, she’s just using him. Theory nine is that Boo from Monsters Inc grows up to the the witch in Brave. Theory ten is that in Finding Nemo Marlin is hallucinating the existence of his son. Theory eleven is that Kristoff from Frozen is wearing his BFF Kristoff’s MOMs pelt to keep warm. The original story of Peter Pan, Peter was living on the island and made a deal with the fairies so he could live forever, but he had to eat children in order to keep living. the lost boys were the kids he had to eat to keep living forever. Captain Hook was actually the good guy in that story.

Belle: Didn't even like the beast at first, and the primary reason for her staying in that castle was to save her dad's life- not to hook up!
Jasmine: Rejected literally every single one of her suitors
Megara: Literally swore off dating because her ex was such an asshole (yes, I know she ended up with Hercules. But that's because they gradually fell in love. She wasn't immediately attracted to him.)
Mulan: Doesn't even get it on with Shang until the end of the movie
Tiana: Does fall in love and get married, but that was never what she had goals for. What she wanted was to open a successful restaurant to fulfill the dreams of her late father. And she did that!!
Merida: I don't even think I need to explain why she's on this list.
For all the girls that are on here, I'm not calling them anti-feminist. I just can't think of something to say off the top of my head.
Consider, when Beauty and the Beast showed up, Walt was already dead. Every character you listed was post Walt Disney and it's possible they tried to move away from that trope.

Actually every winnie the pooh character have a disorder (Tiger=ADHD, Roo=Autism, Kanga= Social anxiety disorder/she only loves her son, Piglet have Generalized anxiety disorder...) Owl have Dyslexia and narcissistic personality disorder, wich means he can't help them... The heffelup have ADD and ghoper have PTSD. Now i guess i killed my own childhood... DX

Disney borrows or reinvents European fairy tales. Usually the majority of people don't have a problem with it, but Disney makes sure that the folktales become 'world famous'. This ensures that the original stories are often less known.
Peter pan is a Scottish story. The comparison with Grim Reaper is nonsense and was later invented.
The little mermaid is originally a Danish fairy tale. In the 17th century, mermaids were common in sailor stories in countries where shipping was very important. Scandinavian countries, but also in the Netherlands, England and Spain.
In the original story the prince is forced to marry. The mermaid gets a knife from her sisters. If she stabs the prince, she will regain her freedom, but the mermaid loves her prince too much. She dies by dawn.
The 'American' Disney thinks this is too intense, while the lesson is 'do not always trust strangers and get to know your loved ones first'. The shell bra is also typically an American prudery.
Alice in Wonderland is a relative modern fairytale from England. And wasn't that famous in the rest of Europe..Many people in Europe think its a story from Disney himself...but it is indeed British.
The French fairy tale 'La Belle et la Bête' (Beauty and the Beast) was published for the first time in the 18th, but is much older.
Gaston does not exist in the original fairytale, but Belle's jealous brother and sister are the culprits. They decide to keep Belle at home so that she can not return to the beast. Because of the absence of Belle's love, the beast almost dies.

I always wondered if first peter pan one was true, the movie is very clearly set in world war London and air-raids are a thing, it's telling that all the lost boys stay with Wendy and the darlings but peter does not, he seems satisfied then flies off, in more recent times i've wondered if there is actually a connection between him and the guardians

Peter Pan is the bad guy, the reason Captain Hook aged briefly is he tried to escape the WASTELAND of Neverland but Peter managed to keep him captive and Captain Hook is fighting him all the time so his magical powers (locking people up on an island with people that never age) die along with Peter

Since Mufasa being Simba's father was the alpha male of the pride, he would have had exclusive mating rites with all the female lions by chasing off the other males. Therefore Nala is Simba's half sister... And likely his own mother is too, just from an earlier litter.

(I get what you're saying about Peter Pan-- some of the older movies definitely have stereotypes that should have been avoided. But those types of movies are pretty old, and given their many thoughtful and culturally enriching movies like Coco, Soul, and Encanto, I think it's safe to say that they're past that now).
