I just went and watched/listened to the late Rita MacNeil's version and I.M.O., Louise and Mary Duff do an equal, if not better version. I especially like Mary Duff's version, because of the backing vocals and instrumentals and of course Mary's beautiful singing voice. Little evidence of pure soul in her songs ... .... where's the blue note and that "special" turn of musical phrasing ???
