WHAT I GOT WRONG AS A WEIGHT LOSS COACH // After more than twenty years in the fitness and nutrition industry, there are definitely some things that I've gotten wrong. I admit it.
Not many people are really good at something when they first start off. And there are weight loss mistakes you are probably making, because someone told you they were the right thing to do.
So now I've replaced my advice with practical weight loss tips that make sense for different lifestyles, not just for "fitness people".
I now use evidence-based weight loss advice to give practical strategies that work for different types of people. There are a lot of ways of getting weight loss advice. Not just the common methods that cause frustration for most people.

Still working on it. I have a bulked up appearance being "skinny fat" when I started resistance training but I was eating a surplus of food as well. now I'm eating less and hopefully some type of muscle shine through 🙄 and I've actually decreased my cardio(I was just doing way too much)

Great video & insight. I gave up on trainers a couple of years ago for a few reasons. One trainer started me on extremely heavy weights instead of progressing, One trainer refused to use weights and wanted me on a 1200 kcal diet, Other trainers just walk you through the workout but never explain what muscles I was working. When I would ask about nutrition they all said they were not qualified to give advice on that subject. So I failed. I now go to MyFitnessPal and UA-cam videos (like yours) and am getting better results. One thing that I learned is that when I upped my protein to 137 gm per day I am eating 1000 calories less then when I ate mostly carbohydrates.

Glad you liked the video and that you’re finally getting advice that works for you. 😊 I’m definitely a believer in protein as a way of managing appetite/cravings. It’s made a big difference for many of my clients.

My relationship with food is good because I love to cook. Picking healthy foods and preparing in healthy ways keeps everything in balance. I’m really enjoying your practical advise. As my metabolism has started to slow (60 yr old male) I’ve decided to kick it up by actually working out MORE. Thanks for your videos’

Thanks! Ive been struggling on losing weight for the last 5 years. I was able to become fit (lost 5-10kg) but it bounces right away after like two months or so. Now im at my highest weight (63kg) and im quite worried about my health because i always think that i cant exercise because im quite busy.
After watching some of your vids it made me reflect and want to become healthy again. Being busy doesnt mean that i cant make some changes in my life. Thanks!

Would doing these things such as: walking 10k steps per day, eating less than 250 calories, and doing 12 hours of fasting be too much for me?
Im aiming to get to 45kg since my height is only 4’10 feet (19 years old) and i also live in a small space where exercises i can do are limited

Glad to hear that you’ve been inspired to make changes again. 😊 Only you can decide whether something is “too much” for you. Walking more is certainly helpful, and sustainable, for most people. I assume you mean eating “250 less”. That also tends to be a reasonable goal. I don’t recommend fasting…is there a reason you’re interested in that?

Relying on exercise isn’t usually the best option, so don’t worry if you don’t have space. Whatever way of eating you decide on, make sure that it’s something reasonable and sustainable for YOU.

Hehe love this! Another great video with good info, thank you!💗
Have you done a video about the body adapting to low calorie intake after a long time?
And how do we get our metabolism back up after that?

    • @IvanaChapman
      @IvanaChapman  2 роки тому +1

So glad you liked the video! 😊
I haven’t talked about metabolic adaptations specifically in a video, but I’ve added it to my list. Thanks for the suggestion!
