This is one of the most smart moves i have been seeing in a quite good time. CATL absolutely should sell upper tech and manufactered stuff, rather than load of batteries for pennies
@@skyproductions13 You are completely mistaken. You can buy Tesla parts and put them in another car (imo it's not the best option), but here you have another idea for small companies and private buyers who want to design on the basis of the entire CATL chassis avoiding the terribly complicated regulations allowing the vehicle to be on the road. So it is completely not like always unless you mention a buggy that was created without the intention of the chassis manufacturer. Understood?
Did they say that? it certainly looked to me like the cells were slotted in.... But, even if they can't Take a look on the channel and you will see the CATL cell failure rate is trending to zero. Also investigate how many cells they use per pack, divide the capacity by that number to determine the percentage loss, then question if the individual cell can be disconnected from the pack by the BMS. let's guess at 200 cells? In that case, loss of one cell would result in 0.5% Capacity/ Power reduction. As for "The pack", CATL is predicting VERY long life. Anyway, why do you assume the "Pack" would be the point of Failure rather than the control modules? If they failed, they could be replaced.
The BMS will never be able to isolate an individual dead cell. It would require far too much extra cabling. Will be interesting to see if cells can still be replaced in this design.
What about maintenance? Is it relatively easy and inexpensive to fix? Lead time for parts? Are components modular enough that if 1 cell is faulty i don't have to replace the entire battery pack? If the pack needs replacing, what is the supply chain like?
Love CATL Innovations ! Awesome Build Chassis ! Wish LATL can also build a Large Chassis that has high ground clearance for off-road pick-up trucks , large size cargo van and trucks with an air suspension system that can lower on highway speed and rise up on off-road rough mountain terrain road condition. This high ground clearance Large Chassis will sell like Hot Cakes for many different Application !!! Please develop dry coating solvent-free process production line for 30% lower production costs and 30-40% higher nominal capacity(even higher in LFP cathode cells because LFP cathode has the potential of 60% higher active materials in dry coating process)and energy density cells because of thicker electrodes(almost double in thickness) and higher active materials in both cathode and anode in the cell.also please develop an ultra power dense electric drive unit with 11 kw/kg drive unit level power density and 21,000 rpm rotor speed paired to a 2 speed transmission for maximum high speed efficiency with gear ratios of 12:1 for first gear and 4:1 for ultra high speed efficient second gear for your amazing BEDROCK CHASSIS

Very beautiful to see asia copying europe, habits science, inventions, culture, way of living. Look up asia 50 years ago and more, you see now asia is become europe with more discipline. Nice that europe is the mecca of the world evolution.
I guess you missed some history lessons. Europe mainly gave death to Asia with colonialism. On technology I dont think they were lacking much. Japan was technological super power already before ww2. Now China finally not under superpowers boots took off, before Europe invaded they were doing really good when it comes to innovations.

congrats for your enegineers, creative solution
Looks like CATL developed the system from the General Motors, that's good. More flexible means it's getting customizable (I hope)
Tesla did it first, as Always.
Yup lmao and the Chinese will shamelessly rip off and copy anyone&everyone along the way!

Not exactly.
The Tesla system isn't a rolling Chassis
@@rogerstarkey5390 its a battery as a chassis point if I am not mistaken

What car will be the first to use this technology?
So now you can’t replace the battery pack at all? Man, that doesn’t feel good.
I know that the lifetime of the battery can exceed that of the rest of the car, but still …

Can cell to chassis technology replace the battery?
If you mean within the chassis rails(?) NO
Not enough physical volume and you don't the cells in the crash deformation space
