So the tribal chant you hear is actually known as the "Mantra of Light" which I believe is a real Buddhist chant that is fairly well known in Japan for clearing regrets and the like? (Im no expert, so I could have gotten that completely wrong, but it IS the mantra of light). The break in the middle uses some prominent traditional instruments from Japan. Also, the keyboard solo reminds me a lot of Styx! Actually this whole song kinda reminds me of Miss America by Styx. The whole idea of this character is she was your typical wandering samurai, looking for revenge. This song is basically her trying to get over her anger and hatred, and looking for a new purpose other than revenge.
Bonus round, apparently the character herself started out as a joke, because the dev mistook a very popular anime character at the time (Kenshin from samurai x) as a female, and drew fanart of kenshin as a female samurai. So, she shares a TON of similarities with that character. I think she was a secret boss in the very first game?
I came to the comment section to write this very thing about the Mantra. Guilty Gear is full of prominent references to real life things. Despite being a game made in Japan, there are very few actual Japanese characters in the game. Baiken is one of them, and it’s based on an older culture (the samurai) so it makes sense they would throw in a ton of references to the real culture of the samurai in her theme.

In universe, they're treated as critically endangered and kept safe in highly protected colonies.
Baiken is, in fact, not new. She was in the original Guilty Gear... as a hidden optional boss, who would typically kick your ass in five seconds, even moreso than the regular final boss of the game. She later became a playable character, and has been a recurring mainstay through most of the series.
She’s “new” to Strive at least. Well she WAS new to Strive. He even admits when he sees the date the video was posted that he might be a little behind LOL I think he just didn’t realize she was a new returning character is all.

Quick note about Baiken as a character, her whole deal is deeply tied to her nationality. She is a Japanese woman but in the Guilty Gear universe Japan was completely incinerated. Baiken is on an endless revenge quest to get revenge for the people of Japan by destroying That Man (the guy who orchestrated it).
I'll admit, this is the first time I'm hearing a Guilty Gear song and damn was I impressed. I only know it exists because of Maximilian Dood but I've never played it or seen footage or anything. I definitely need to check out more from this ost XD
Someone NEEDS to get him to react to Alone Infection. That song is an absolute roller coaster. Also to my knowledge, I never heard anyone say this song was bad. They probably mean its bad in game since the intro is so long that the game is halfways over before the drop hits.They definitely need to trim out the intro in game. There are a few divisive songs these days...that being being Disaster of Passion and Perfection Cant Please Me. Personally the only song I dislike is Requiem since I think the vocals ruin an otherwise amazing instrumental.
Baiken herself actually is Japanese, like she's from Japan and going on a revenge quest because her family and friends were killed by Gears during the Crusades. And there's no bad songs, just highs and lows depending entirely on taste. Like I love Axl's theme in Strive, but dislike May and Jack-O's themes. And then in Xrd, Dizzy's theme, One Dawn, is my all-time favorite GG song, and Juno, Jack-o's theme in that game is my second favorite within that game. So it's all based on taste, everyone has their personal highs and lows and so no song is objectively bad as a result.
If you're planning to do more reactions of GGST songs, I heavily suggest checking out CloudDrop's lyric videos. Their editing is incredibly clean, the background visuals syncing up with the music and being able to read the lyrics displays a lot of the character's personalities and contributes to the song greatly.
Probably anything in Gear someone might call bad is probably going to come down to just not liking the genre, since it's not ALL Metal. You've also got some pop in there with May (Disaster of Passion) and Jack-O's (Perfection Can't Please Me) themes, most notably. There are a few songs that are kind of memes, too. Like Birthday Train, but that's still a whole lot of fun.
14:54 the thing that everybody says is "if you think a GG theme is bad, it's because you didn't heard it enough", and besides the counter-argument that once you heard a song enough you will get used to it, in GG case you really get addicted to the song, even if you know it's mega lol trash, it's just a banger every time you hear it xD
I have no clue why people in the comments keep talking about this song being hated. The ONLY reason I know it's possibly not liked is cause you hardly hear past the opening minute in most any GG match, but even with that said this is easily my damn favourite song of the entire album, just absolutely love the flipping between traditional Japanese and the use of mantras then going into more rock, Daisuke is great for flexing all parts of the medium but I feel this really does it well. Plus, it ties in really damn well to her story and how far she's come. On that by the way, she is hardly a new character in the Guilty Gear scene, she originally debuted as a secret boss character in the older games, then becoming more mainline as things went on, probably uh....gaining a lot of popularity by GG: Xrd for certain reasons that are close to the chest. Mirror of the World perfectly encapsulates her journey of guilt and self-loathing with how the story has lead her into Strive, so yeah, it's personally one of my favs.
This theme really fits Baiken, she is basically the Doomguy (a lone warrior that only wishes to kill demons) but Strive is going some steps forward on her story by humanizing her a bit more
One thing I wanted to add to the comment about the Mantra being sung in the pre-chorus section: I get goosebumps every time I hear the line specifically following the chant. “This is her way.” It’s the last thing said in the section before the guitar riff that leads into the chorus. So they really want to emphasize that this is literally a chant that she abides by. It’s very cool. Their approach for this OST was very much the Sonic Adventure 2 Battle approach where themes aren’t necessarily good video game stage songs, but they’re good THEMES. They represent the characters EXTREMELY well. A lot of people had to warm up to the songs because we were used to getting these absolutely banger video game stage themes for the characters. This is the first time they’ve gone all in on the vocal tracks. Character themes are usually instrumental and meant to be played in the game itself while you’re fighting.
This song's quickly becoming one of my favorites in Strive honestly. At first I thought it was alright but the more I listen to it the more I love the chorus and how many different layers there are at the end of the song.
There ARE bad songs in GG. There's these ones that keep making me break out in tears mid match. Very disruptive when the songs just get too emotional to handle 😭 Shout out to The Name of Heaven
I have to say this as well: If you think the stuff Daisuke wrote is a banger, you NEED to hear the stuff from the Korean OST for Guilty Gear XX. Daisuke handed the job of making the OST to a friend of his, and the Korean OST from that game is OUTSTANDING. Some of those songs you’ve probably heard before as background songs in other UA-cam videos without even realizing it. There are some songs that fans don’t enjoy in Strive, but there’s no “bad” songs IMO. Disaster of Passion and Perfection Can’t Please Me are more pop style songs than metal or rock, but they’re still GOOD songs. There are parts of Perfection Cant Please Me that legitimately give me goosebumps when I hear them (mainly the piano outro at the ending of the song). Every time, “I’m the dis-as-ter of pas-sion!” is sung, I can’t help but sing it too. Daisuke has either always written bangers OR he entrusted the soundtrack to a friend of his who produced an outstanding soundtrack himself.
TBH Perfection can't please me is amazing like all the songs but it seems worse than average if you just listen to the bits that are likely to come up in an actual game.
Korean OST was composed by Shin Hae Chul, he was legnendary vocal in KR. He and his band(N.EX.T) love the game so they made GGxx`s OST. He passed away in 2014 :( He was so iconic in korean culture that almost every koreans miss him. Im glad to see your words about korean ost :)
Haha "bad" song huh? Music is very subjective and Daisuke and the GG/BB music team can get VERY experimental with tone and genres, there's a few "Pop" songs you haven't heard yet and a couple orchestral pieces as well. I like it, but a lot of ppl don't like May's theme from Strive, "The Disaster of Passion".

the male vocalist for Guilty Gear's songs (Naoki Hashimoto) sings in English for the band Outrage, and he's way more coherent when he sings for them than for GG. I have to wonder if he's playing it up a bit.
"Bad" music in Guilty Gear is a very subjective thing, so there will always be people who like a certain song despite being a bit unpopular overall. I guess you could count the GGX2 versions of "Awe of She" and "Feel a Fear", since they're remastered versions of songs originally introduced in GGX, and lost a LOT over their originals, but they're still good songs in their own right. But no, even when songs become a bit divisive, no song was ever agreed by the community to be straight-up bad. That's the power of a metalhead who is also a writer, programmer, artist, designer, illustrator, composer, singer, guitar player, and voice actor, all in one package - Daisuke Ishiwatari is unreal.

This start makes me think big of that japanese metal band from the 80s called Seikima-II, go listen their song _Rou Ningyou no Yakata_ [蝋人形の館] (the house of the wax dolls). There is not a way Daisuke wasn't referencing that, Seikima-II it is a very important band in the japanese metal story. It is to give Baiken this old fashioned feel on her theme song. This section of the chinese instrument you are refering, they are playing a Shakuhachi flute and a Koto, that's a string traditional instrument with several strings put on some kind of table. It sounds very beautiful, it's similar to the chinese Guzheng but it is not exactly the same. There is a band now called Wagakki Band who is using this traditional instruments nowadays to do very good rock and metal music, go check them too. Guilty Gear happens in the future, near the year 2.200, and Baiken is samurai that got stuck in time and she is anachronic in this era where the japanese people has barely disappeared. That's why her theme song feels so old fashioned, so lonely, so japanese, (you even can hear some buddhist mantras being sung in one of those..."bridges"? You never know with Daisuke).
Baiken isnt stuck. This is the era she was born into. The problems come from being Japanese in guilty gear, a fate equivalent to death. She lost her arm and eye in a gear attack, learned that That Man created the gears, and then sought out That Man to get her revenge.
I've been binging all of your reaction videos but I just had to skip ahead and watch this. This song grew on me pretty quickly, it's one of my favorites. I can't really comment on some of my favorite songs you've covered in the past since those videos are old so I needed to at least be able to do it on one of them lol.
I personally don't like Jack-O's theme, "Perfection Can't Please Me," but I know there are plenty of people out there where it's the ONLY song that they like from any of the games. So to definitively say there's a bad song on the sound track is actually kind of impossible.
Yeah my take is like… I prefer metal, but I also can’t deny that it and “Disaster of Passion” are probably some of the best pop songs I’ve heard basically ever. And that’s what really blows my mind. This man un-ironically writes good music. Not just good metal, but he writes GOOD EVERYTHING. And it’s not hard to understand why when you find out that his favorite band is Queen. Some of the best musicians I’ve ever heard are the ones whose favorite artists aren’t even in the same genre they’re known for. Like Synyster Gates from Avenged Sevenfold is one of my favorite guitar players of all time (the band is hit or miss but the guitar work he does is fantastic) and he started off as a jazz guitarist. Like no wonder his riffs and solos are so good, the man did jazz. So I think that’s just what happens when you get somebody who is genuinely in love with music. They have a wide library of references. They’re never out of their comfort zone.
About that song I may not think it's the best but It just makes me laugh every single time listen to it on my ggst playlis. You come from like a heavy af metal like potemkins an then you listen to the happy go lucky piano intro and I just can't do anything but laugh

I'm really hoping someone on your Patreon has requested Millia's Strive theme "Love the Subhuman Self" since you've already done some of her older themes. Strive continues to kick ass. Though for your question, it's definitely Axl's theme that the fandom all sees as the one low tier song in the game. I've never really seen people go out to bat for that song as their favorite. Also May's theme "Disaster of Passion" gets a lot of hate. I think that's more with the tone of the song, it's a very pop love song.
Axl's theme is a very "It's my favorite every now and then" theme- Occasionally, that café is in fact making me hungry. Kinda fits the go with the flow theme of Axl tbh

Been loving your content and I've noticed a big lack of Metroid Prime series I recommend listening to Space Pirate theme w/ intro and Thardus theme from Metroid Prime 1, Quadraxis theme and Emperor Ing 2nd phase theme from Metroid Prime 2, Rundas theme and Gandrayda theme from Metroid Prime 3. This trilogy has a soundtrack like no other, it's a very unique sound that I've never heard outside of these games, it's iconic and I think you'll love it

Out the many, many songs throughout GG, I really can’t say if there’s a best song. But if I had to give one a listen, I believe “Sky Should be High (Vocal Version)” would be a great choice

Just some side info since you don't play the Guilty Gear series or seem too familiar with the whole background info: Daisuke Ishiwatari is the bassist and componist for parts of some songs of the overall GG OST. He also did all the game and concept art up until Guilty Gear SIGN (2015 release). He also voiced the main character of the series, Sol Badguy (in lore name Frederick Busara, a nod to Freddy Mercury) until Guilty Gear SIGN as well. The male singer in the whole Strive OST is Naoki Hashimoto. Rock and Metal music is overall seen and deeply implemented in the Guilty Gear series; prominent characters as examples are Axl Rose as a reference to Guns'N'Roses, Testament, a reference to the band of the same name, Sol Badguy as a reference to Freddy Mercury and the band Queen, as well as the character I-no being a witch that uses a Les Paul guitar as a weapon, utilizing metal and rock riffs to deal damage. In Strive she has a super move that makes her fire sound rockets from a wall of black guitar amps. I love this series.

"Holy Orders?" The question mark included. It's Robo-Ky's "theme". I think everyone can agree it's one of the worst tracks in Guilty Gear, but I guess that's kinda cheating since it's an intentionally terrible remix. Remove the question mark though and you've got one of the best classic bangers.
if there's is one singular song i can think of in the guilty gear franchise that is bad, it would be "holy orders?" wich is a remix of ky theme "holy order" but just REALLY made to sound bad, with changes in the pitch and out of tune stuff. other than that, no i don't think there's a bad song (ironic the only bad theme i can think of is the one made specifically to be bad xD)
You asked about some songs that some people don't like as much. Well, the entire Strive OST is wall to wall bangers but the three that stick out as being a bit different (and not to everyone's tastes) are, "Alone Infection", "Necessary Discrepancy", and especially, "Disaster of Passion". The last of those which departs heavily from being a metal song and is more of a pop song, or something by Paramore. One other thing to note, and I'm surprised no one's brought this up yet, but Daisuke Ishiwatari isn't the singer on most of these songs (though he is the lyricist, and the one absolutely shredding in them from what I understand). The vocalists vary but, from my understanding, Naoki Hashimoto from the band Outrage is who the vocalist is on a majority of the game's vocal tracks.
I don't understand people thinking Necessary Discrepancy is bad, it's like the most well thought-out and crafted song out of the album to the point the team is so proud that they made it the name of the OST Album.

As a Millia main, and Baiken being one of the very few +1 matchups for Millia, I really enjoy listening to this track in game 😅 In Guilty Gear's distopian future lore, there are just a handful of Japanese people left and they are all basically super humans. Baiken is the most Japanese of them all, hence the traditional instruments and tribal theme. Btw: I told you I wasn't exaggerating when I told you everything in GG is a musical reference ;)
Yes, Hashimoto is the front singer for all of Strive, but if I remember correctly, Ishiwatari is still a background singer in some songs himself - probably depends on when he had time to attend a recording.
This theme perfectly incapsulates the feeling of playing a high ranked baiken. You block her far S at round start, her (j)S into Yousanzen and think you got her all figured out, only to get 236p'd mid block string out of nowhere and suddenly she starts breaking your face.
There are a few songs that are kind of semi intentionally bad but not like actually bad robo ky's theme from xx "holy orders?". it is a parody of ky's theme and off key and de tuned semi randomly but it's an interesting song and parts of it are banger material for sure. There are a few songs I personally don't like but given how important music is to the series there is stuff to appreciate in every song.

I tend to focus way more on considering songs good rather than bad, but there are some songs I don't personally like. Funnily enough, most of the Korean soundtrack for _Guilty Gear X2 __#Reload__._ Not that the tracks aren't good in a musical sense, they're just really non-indicative of the characters to my ear. Potemkin's theme, "Megatona Furioso," is just off-brand beastlier "Burly Heart," Baiken's theme "Ricochet" has inexplicable F1 racing sounds at the start, and so on. The only themes I like from it are Ky's theme, "Pillars of the Underworld," and Robo-Ky's theme, "Vortex Infinium."

She has since developed a relationship with a man by the name of Anji Mito ( though she would probably say it's more of an acquaintance) and she also recently adopted a child whom she saw many similarities to herself in, something that made her realize that the vengeance she sought would only leave her hollow

Baiken is, in fact, not new. She was in the original Guilty Gear... as a hidden optional boss, who would typically kick your ass in five seconds, even moreso than the regular final boss of the game. She later became a playable character, and has been a recurring mainstay through most of the series.

Quick note about Baiken as a character, her whole deal is deeply tied to her nationality. She is a Japanese woman but in the Guilty Gear universe Japan was completely incinerated. Baiken is on an endless revenge quest to get revenge for the people of Japan by destroying That Man (the guy who orchestrated it).

Someone NEEDS to get him to react to Alone Infection. That song is an absolute roller coaster. Also to my knowledge, I never heard anyone say this song was bad. They probably mean its bad in game since the intro is so long that the game is halfways over before the drop hits.They definitely need to trim out the intro in game. There are a few divisive songs these days...that being being Disaster of Passion and Perfection Cant Please Me. Personally the only song I dislike is Requiem since I think the vocals ruin an otherwise amazing instrumental.

Baiken herself actually is Japanese, like she's from Japan and going on a revenge quest because her family and friends were killed by Gears during the Crusades.
And there's no bad songs, just highs and lows depending entirely on taste. Like I love Axl's theme in Strive, but dislike May and Jack-O's themes. And then in Xrd, Dizzy's theme, One Dawn, is my all-time favorite GG song, and Juno, Jack-o's theme in that game is my second favorite within that game. So it's all based on taste, everyone has their personal highs and lows and so no song is objectively bad as a result.
If you're planning to do more reactions of GGST songs, I heavily suggest checking out CloudDrop's lyric videos. Their editing is incredibly clean, the background visuals syncing up with the music and being able to read the lyrics displays a lot of the character's personalities and contributes to the song greatly.

Probably anything in Gear someone might call bad is probably going to come down to just not liking the genre, since it's not ALL Metal. You've also got some pop in there with May (Disaster of Passion) and Jack-O's (Perfection Can't Please Me) themes, most notably. There are a few songs that are kind of memes, too. Like Birthday Train, but that's still a whole lot of fun.

I have no clue why people in the comments keep talking about this song being hated. The ONLY reason I know it's possibly not liked is cause you hardly hear past the opening minute in most any GG match, but even with that said this is easily my damn favourite song of the entire album, just absolutely love the flipping between traditional Japanese and the use of mantras then going into more rock, Daisuke is great for flexing all parts of the medium but I feel this really does it well.
Plus, it ties in really damn well to her story and how far she's come. On that by the way, she is hardly a new character in the Guilty Gear scene, she originally debuted as a secret boss character in the older games, then becoming more mainline as things went on, probably uh....gaining a lot of popularity by GG: Xrd for certain reasons that are close to the chest.
Mirror of the World perfectly encapsulates her journey of guilt and self-loathing with how the story has lead her into Strive, so yeah, it's personally one of my favs.

This theme really fits Baiken, she is basically the Doomguy (a lone warrior that only wishes to kill demons) but Strive is going some steps forward on her story by humanizing her a bit more

One thing I wanted to add to the comment about the Mantra being sung in the pre-chorus section:
I get goosebumps every time I hear the line specifically following the chant. “This is her way.” It’s the last thing said in the section before the guitar riff that leads into the chorus.
So they really want to emphasize that this is literally a chant that she abides by. It’s very cool.
Their approach for this OST was very much the Sonic Adventure 2 Battle approach where themes aren’t necessarily good video game stage songs, but they’re good THEMES. They represent the characters EXTREMELY well. A lot of people had to warm up to the songs because we were used to getting these absolutely banger video game stage themes for the characters. This is the first time they’ve gone all in on the vocal tracks. Character themes are usually instrumental and meant to be played in the game itself while you’re fighting.
This song's quickly becoming one of my favorites in Strive honestly. At first I thought it was alright but the more I listen to it the more I love the chorus and how many different layers there are at the end of the song.
There ARE bad songs in GG. There's these ones that keep making me break out in tears mid match. Very disruptive when the songs just get too emotional to handle 😭

If you think the stuff Daisuke wrote is a banger, you NEED to hear the stuff from the Korean OST for Guilty Gear XX.
Daisuke handed the job of making the OST to a friend of his, and the Korean OST from that game is OUTSTANDING. Some of those songs you’ve probably heard before as background songs in other UA-cam videos without even realizing it.
There are some songs that fans don’t enjoy in Strive, but there’s no “bad” songs IMO. Disaster of Passion and Perfection Can’t Please Me are more pop style songs than metal or rock, but they’re still GOOD songs. There are parts of Perfection Cant Please Me that legitimately give me goosebumps when I hear them (mainly the piano outro at the ending of the song).
Every time, “I’m the dis-as-ter of pas-sion!” is sung, I can’t help but sing it too.
Daisuke has either always written bangers OR he entrusted the soundtrack to a friend of his who produced an outstanding soundtrack himself.
TBH Perfection can't please me is amazing like all the songs but it seems worse than average if you just listen to the bits that are likely to come up in an actual game.
Korean OST was composed by Shin Hae Chul, he was legnendary vocal in KR. He and his band(N.EX.T) love the game so they made GGxx`s OST. He passed away in 2014 :( He was so iconic in korean culture that almost every koreans miss him.

the male vocalist for Guilty Gear's songs (Naoki Hashimoto) sings in English for the band Outrage, and he's way more coherent when he sings for them than for GG. I have to wonder if he's playing it up a bit.
"Bad" music in Guilty Gear is a very subjective thing, so there will always be people who like a certain song despite being a bit unpopular overall. I guess you could count the GGX2 versions of "Awe of She" and "Feel a Fear", since they're remastered versions of songs originally introduced in GGX, and lost a LOT over their originals, but they're still good songs in their own right.
But no, even when songs become a bit divisive, no song was ever agreed by the community to be straight-up bad. That's the power of a metalhead who is also a writer, programmer, artist, designer, illustrator, composer, singer, guitar player, and voice actor, all in one package - Daisuke Ishiwatari is unreal.

This start makes me think big of that japanese metal band from the 80s called Seikima-II, go listen their song _Rou Ningyou no Yakata_ [蝋人形の館] (the house of the wax dolls). There is not a way Daisuke wasn't referencing that, Seikima-II it is a very important band in the japanese metal story. It is to give Baiken this old fashioned feel on her theme song.
This section of the chinese instrument you are refering, they are playing a Shakuhachi flute and a Koto, that's a string traditional instrument with several strings put on some kind of table. It sounds very beautiful, it's similar to the chinese Guzheng but it is not exactly the same. There is a band now called Wagakki Band who is using this traditional instruments nowadays to do very good rock and metal music, go check them too.
Guilty Gear happens in the future, near the year 2.200, and Baiken is samurai that got stuck in time and she is anachronic in this era where the japanese people has barely disappeared. That's why her theme song feels so old fashioned, so lonely, so japanese, (you even can hear some buddhist mantras being sung in one of those..."bridges"? You never know with Daisuke).
Baiken isnt stuck. This is the era she was born into. The problems come from being Japanese in guilty gear, a fate equivalent to death. She lost her arm and eye in a gear attack, learned that That Man created the gears, and then sought out That Man to get her revenge.
I adore this song, it’s probably my favourite Strive song. The chanting of the mantra of light never fails to hype me up.
I've been binging all of your reaction videos but I just had to skip ahead and watch this. This song grew on me pretty quickly, it's one of my favorites. I can't really comment on some of my favorite songs you've covered in the past since those videos are old so I needed to at least be able to do it on one of them lol.

I personally don't like Jack-O's theme, "Perfection Can't Please Me," but I know there are plenty of people out there where it's the ONLY song that they like from any of the games. So to definitively say there's a bad song on the sound track is actually kind of impossible.
Yeah my take is like… I prefer metal, but I also can’t deny that it and “Disaster of Passion” are probably some of the best pop songs I’ve heard basically ever.
And that’s what really blows my mind. This man un-ironically writes good music. Not just good metal, but he writes GOOD EVERYTHING.
And it’s not hard to understand why when you find out that his favorite band is Queen. Some of the best musicians I’ve ever heard are the ones whose favorite artists aren’t even in the same genre they’re known for.
Like Synyster Gates from Avenged Sevenfold is one of my favorite guitar players of all time (the band is hit or miss but the guitar work he does is fantastic) and he started off as a jazz guitarist. Like no wonder his riffs and solos are so good, the man did jazz.
So I think that’s just what happens when you get somebody who is genuinely in love with music. They have a wide library of references. They’re never out of their comfort zone.

Though for your question, it's definitely Axl's theme that the fandom all sees as the one low tier song in the game. I've never really seen people go out to bat for that song as their favorite. Also May's theme "Disaster of Passion" gets a lot of hate. I think that's more with the tone of the song, it's a very pop love song.

Been loving your content and I've noticed a big lack of Metroid Prime series I recommend listening to Space Pirate theme w/ intro and Thardus theme from Metroid Prime 1, Quadraxis theme and Emperor Ing 2nd phase theme from Metroid Prime 2, Rundas theme and Gandrayda theme from Metroid Prime 3. This trilogy has a soundtrack like no other, it's a very unique sound that I've never heard outside of these games, it's iconic and I think you'll love it

Just some side info since you don't play the Guilty Gear series or seem too familiar with the whole background info:
Daisuke Ishiwatari is the bassist and componist for parts of some songs of the overall GG OST. He also did all the game and concept art up until Guilty Gear SIGN (2015 release). He also voiced the main character of the series, Sol Badguy (in lore name Frederick Busara, a nod to Freddy Mercury) until Guilty Gear SIGN as well.
The male singer in the whole Strive OST is Naoki Hashimoto.
Rock and Metal music is overall seen and deeply implemented in the Guilty Gear series; prominent characters as examples are Axl Rose as a reference to Guns'N'Roses, Testament, a reference to the band of the same name, Sol Badguy as a reference to Freddy Mercury and the band Queen, as well as the character I-no being a witch that uses a Les Paul guitar as a weapon, utilizing metal and rock riffs to deal damage. In Strive she has a super move that makes her fire sound rockets from a wall of black guitar amps.

The question mark included. It's Robo-Ky's "theme". I think everyone can agree it's one of the worst tracks in Guilty Gear, but I guess that's kinda cheating since it's an intentionally terrible remix.
Remove the question mark though and you've got one of the best classic bangers.

There is a common saying in the guilty gear community that everytime Daisuke releases an album, it comes with a free game.
if there's is one singular song i can think of in the guilty gear franchise that is bad, it would be "holy orders?" wich is a remix of ky theme "holy order" but just REALLY made to sound bad, with changes in the pitch and out of tune stuff.
other than that, no i don't think there's a bad song (ironic the only bad theme i can think of is the one made specifically to be bad xD)

You asked about some songs that some people don't like as much. Well, the entire Strive OST is wall to wall bangers but the three that stick out as being a bit different (and not to everyone's tastes) are, "Alone Infection", "Necessary Discrepancy", and especially, "Disaster of Passion". The last of those which departs heavily from being a metal song and is more of a pop song, or something by Paramore.
One other thing to note, and I'm surprised no one's brought this up yet, but Daisuke Ishiwatari isn't the singer on most of these songs (though he is the lyricist, and the one absolutely shredding in them from what I understand). The vocalists vary but, from my understanding, Naoki Hashimoto from the band Outrage is who the vocalist is on a majority of the game's vocal tracks.
I don't understand people thinking Necessary Discrepancy is bad, it's like the most well thought-out and crafted song out of the album to the point the team is so proud that they made it the name of the OST Album.

In Guilty Gear's distopian future lore, there are just a handful of Japanese people left and they are all basically super humans. Baiken is the most Japanese of them all, hence the traditional instruments and tribal theme.

Yes, Hashimoto is the front singer for all of Strive, but if I remember correctly, Ishiwatari is still a background singer in some songs himself - probably depends on when he had time to attend a recording.

There are a few songs that are kind of semi intentionally bad but not like actually bad robo ky's theme from xx "holy orders?". it is a parody of ky's theme and off key and de tuned semi randomly but it's an interesting song and parts of it are banger material for sure. There are a few songs I personally don't like but given how important music is to the series there is stuff to appreciate in every song.

I tend to focus way more on considering songs good rather than bad, but there are some songs I don't personally like. Funnily enough, most of the Korean soundtrack for _Guilty Gear X2 __#Reload__._ Not that the tracks aren't good in a musical sense, they're just really non-indicative of the characters to my ear. Potemkin's theme, "Megatona Furioso," is just off-brand beastlier "Burly Heart," Baiken's theme "Ricochet" has inexplicable F1 racing sounds at the start, and so on. The only themes I like from it are Ky's theme, "Pillars of the Underworld," and Robo-Ky's theme, "Vortex Infinium."

She is also a gender bend of Kenshin Himura, the main character of the anime series Rurouni Kenshin whom Daisuke initially believed was a girl when he first saw him
As for current narrative events surrounding baiken within the guilty gear story, after spending most of her life trying to hunt down the man responsible for the attack on her home that killed both of her parents and brutally maimed her, people have entered her life that have shifted her priorities away from the vengeance she has pursued for so long.
She has since developed a relationship with a man by the name of Anji Mito ( though she would probably say it's more of an acquaintance) and she also recently adopted a child whom she saw many similarities to herself in, something that made her realize that the vengeance she sought would only leave her hollow
