First! I highly suggest listening to Nevermore - The Psalm of Lydia if you liked this. Have a nice day dudes/dudettes ua-cam.com/video/oqag2lXDmgY/v-deo.html
Havent heard that one but i whole heartedly agree. The sound track for strive was dope as fuck. Loved the vocals they put in. A lot of the previous games if not all were pure instrumentals.
Two of my favorite comments on the lyric video are "This is the most inspirational nonsense I've ever heard" and "This must be what never giving up sounds like"
My favorite thing about Daisuke's music is he's not afraid to be out there. Sometimes it doesn't work, but most of the time it gives you something I personally have never really heard.
The best aspect of this comment is that it applies to all the characters too. They have weird gimmicks and unique aspects of their designs. The music and the characters seem to be under the same philosophy -- take in a bunch of influences and go out there and wild with them.
This song was used for the original announcement trailer for GG Strive. By the time they showed off a new character trailer during a GG tournament, the entire crowd was singing the lyrics.
One of my favourite things about Guilty Gear music is Naoki Hashimoto's vocals, the phonetics of a Japanese man singing in English give it this really raw vibe that I can't get enough of.
The broken English and jagged pronunciations somehow make every song 200x better. Necessary Discrepancy would be nothing if he pronounced it like a native English speaker.
“ All right boys we need to figure out what to do for this video game soundtrack first off the opening track.” “Everything.” “Everything?” “Everything.”
Yeahh uh, Daisuke is a bit of a genius. The music is some of the best in fighting game history, the character designs are THE best, bar none, and in general GG is just so much fun. Also "That is bullshit BLAZING, still my heart is BLAZING" is probably my favorite set of lyrics ever lmao.
The GG Strive soundtrack is pretty strong. I heavily recommend "Out of the Box", "Let Me Carve Your Way", and "Requiem". You like metal and rock with some 80's-90's feel? Daisuke has got you covered.
Absolutely second this. Let me carve your way especially is one of the most mind blowing experiences I've had listening to a track. A lot to unpack in that one.
It's always a treat seeing folks react to literally anything Guilty Gear, definitely recommend checking out the soundtracks all throughout the series either in reactions or in your own time, they're genuine love letters to rock and metal in so many ways, that as I'm sure you felt from this song alone
First time hearing this entire song, and not just the hook. Naoki Hashimoto goes from growling out lyrics to some operatic intermission into a power ballad. Meanwhile the guitar is running up and down 50 years of metal.
I actually played this song for my stepdad earlier this year and as soon as it got to the guitar solo he turned to me and said "Sounds like he really likes Brian May"
Fun fact! In Guilty Gear lore there is a powerful weapon named Outrage and it got it's name from a Japanese metal band of the same name. That same band being the one where this vocalist is from. Daisuke the mad man payed tribute to an awesome band and got their vocalist to perform for him! Daisukes the coolest
I hope one day you'll get to listen to the entire Strive OST. Especially Find Your One Way - the best way I've seen that song described is "This song sounds like a bar fight, and you're winning."
Yup got into the series thanks to the music. As well as how good the game just looked! I would recommend "Find Your One Way" and "Play the Hero" are my other two favourite tracks from Guilty Gear Strive! Also for FFXIV. "Rise" is a banger! Would definitely be cool so see a reaction to that one!
Another of my favorite Guilty Gear tracks is Six Black Heavens Guns. it was the song used in the trailer for Xrd like how this one was in Strive's trailer.
Ishiwatari Daisuke has a lot of talent. He can directing game, coding computer game, drawing artwork, composing song by himself, and even play the guitar very well.
A few off the top of my head man. You rock, and I think you'd love Ky Kiske's theme from the Korean GG OST, Heavy Day/Six Black Heavens Guns from GG Xrd, Midnight Carnival from GG XX, and other GG Strive songs like Roar of the Spark, Love the Subhuman Self, Armor-Clad Faith; THIS SERIES IS JUST A SPOTIFY PLAYLIST THAT COMES WITH FREE GAMES LOL
Thank you so much for listening to GG songs! Daisuke is a genious musician! Lots of energy on the songs. If you want to hear something a little more slow paced, i cant recommend Freesia enough, its a love letter to Queen.
I remember the first time i listened to this song clear as day, I was in Hawaii about to go to a Christmas service i plug in my earbuds since it was a long drive and i heard a snippet and decided to listen to it and i hear it for the first time and im blown away and am just sitting there in silence like "How have i not known about this until now" i then the next day did 5 3 mile bike rides in a row listening to it
I love GG Strives soundtrack a lot and I hope you continue with them. I'd recommend reacting to a video with lyrics for them since they matter a lot for the characters. My recommendation: Zatos theme "Let Me Carve Your Way" Boss theme "Crawl" Fausts theme "Alone Infection" Chipps theme "Play The Hero" Nagoryukis theme "What Do You Fight For" and Anjis theme "Rock Parade" Tho most songs are really good.
I heavily recommend listening to some of the less in-your-face tracks too, like Blank, Icarus, All I Can Do, Lily, the list goes on. They imo get slept on but they're also REALLY good.
My favorite GG song has to be One Dawn from Xrd. The song is Dizzy's Theme and having learned about her backstory the theme fits so incredibly well for her.
I've only just found your channel and 422 videogame playlist. I hope you've done more strive reactions, some character themes are awesome If we can request stuff idk if you've already done these but I'd recommend stuff from the 2013 Killer Instinct game. Orchid and TJ Combo's theme specifically
You should definitely react to the whole Guilty Gear Strive album. It's pretty good. Also songs like break the spell, storyteller and others from the gg discography are pretty amazing.
Pretty much everything daisuke writes is amazing. If I was going to suggest strive music, I'd go with Zato-1's theme (Carve your own way), Nagoryuki's theme (What do you fight for?) and Potemkin's theme (Armor-clad Faith). It's hard to go wrong with gg music tbh.
id go ahead and say not a single song from the games are bad, havent heard all the osts but god damn, even the korean exclusive guilty gear games ost is baller
I had NO IDEA you haven't played Guilty Gear!! Now knowing that you GOTTA (whenever you get the chance to) listen to "Sky should be High" from Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator. The intro is BLISSFUL
Guilty Gear has a lot of fantastic tracks. One of my favorites from Strive is "Armor-clad Faith" which is also the theme of my personal favorite characters to play in GG.
Just checked out Kissing the Shadows. Really good, see why you compared them. And it's actually really fitting whether or not Daisuke intended it (knowing him he might well have). Millia used to be in a relationship with Zato, who fights by wielding his own shadow as a weapon. So her having a theme similar to that is actually really cool.
If Im being honest with you definitely check out some of the older tracks for Guilty Gear! The game has an amazing history with music! Though from Strive I would highly suggest checking Roar of the Spark or Find your own way! Both are sick as hell!! For older tracks, I would suggest Pillars of the Underworld or Keep the Flag Flying!
Also late to the party, love this amazing song and need to try this game! Cave Story was made by one person btw. Everything from the music to the story and even the gameplay was done alone. Some people are just that talented and passionate enough to make everything work.
If you get the opportunity, you should see the video from Evo this year (took place a week ago from me posting this), where the entire crowd sung along to this song and Daisuke was giggling like a child sitting the front row. He was concerned that people would not like the vocal tracks in GG. He was convinced otherwise ;]
Damn, I would have requested some tracks from Strive if I wasn't assuming you've already hear them, there's some god tier tracks in Strive. Zato 1's theme (Let Me Carve Your Way) is one of my favorites, but they're all great journeys.

The entire album, Nevermore - This Godless Endeavor, is so damn good.
React to guilty gear - Heavy day. It's the OST of Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign!
I think i love you
there's a running gag in the Guilty Gear community that all the games are just album releases with a free fighting game included. This is why.
lmaao
Not only albums but also movies.
Guilty Gear may as well be considered an all in one entertainment package
@@Jo_youwhatmate never saw I that way, So true.

He literally has a friend who can time-travel and at least once he asked him to bring him Queen CDs from the past xd
omg sick
Adell? What are you doing here? Are you done borrowing Flonne and Etna? I need them back now.
Every character is based on a band or singer and their themes are composed inspired by those same bands.
I love GG. But I did not know that
Two of my favorite comments on the lyric video are "This is the most inspirational nonsense I've ever heard" and "This must be what never giving up sounds like"
they rhymed "BLAZING" with "BLAZING" and managed to get away with it
Because it's just repeating for emphasis, so it doesn't sound weird.
ngl i heard lazy and blazing which somehow works in my mind
theres even a word for it, epistrophe, and you see them everywhere
"He can't keep getting away with it"
My favorite thing about Daisuke's music is he's not afraid to be out there. Sometimes it doesn't work, but most of the time it gives you something I personally have never really heard.

Big Blast Sonic is my favorite track.
