  • Step-by-step guide on how to delete yellow TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor System) tire light on the instrument cluster on first generation Chevy Cruze sedan. ( 2008 | 2009 | 2010 | 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015 | 2016 | LS | LT | LTZ | 1.8L | 1.4L ).
    Typically you will need a TPMS scan tool to reset the light as you have to "train" each tire sensor. Sometimes it is doable by releasing air from each tire, if it doesn't work for you scanner will be necessary.
    To start you will have to enter tire learn mode. To do that press menu button on the turn signal light switch, scroll down to tire pressure and then press and hold set/clr button on the same switch. Select Yes when prompted and tire mode will be active. Horn will beep twice.
    Now proceed outside and start relearning the sensors in this order: front left, front right, rear right, rear left. Once done horn will again beep twice and tire light should be off and each sensor should report the tire pressure on the speedometer screen.
    Thanks for watching.

    I tried this because my rear drivers side tpms was non responsive however after trying this and getting 3 of the 4 tires to beep, and not able to get the 4th now all 4 tires are registering "---". How do they come back? I know three do in fact work. Do I have to maybe drive it?

      @QuiteAlright  4 місяці тому

      Hi, all 4 are registering "---" because you started retraining process and didn't finish it because one of the tire sensors did not beep. You have to replace the faulty tpms sensor and then repeat the retrain process. All 4 have to beep

      @QuiteAlright That's what I was afraid of. I figured the ones that work would just go back to the way they were. I'll just check the TP before I drive until I can get it fixed. I wanted to try it myself but it's gonna cost me like 160 bucks probably to do it myself and no guarantee it's done right. never installed one before and I don't want to create another problem

      @@davidpingitore6563 Yes unfortunately to install tire sensors it is the best to take the vehicle to tire shop. Now you could buy the sensor online for $20-$30 and then just take it to the shop and have them install it. Tire shops usually charge $20-$25 for 1 tire dismount, install sensor and balance the wheel afterwards. It is a 5 min job. Make sure to activate the sensor using the tool prior to have it installed in the tire

    My chevy cruze does not have this option in the info screen. Any idea how to get it to show?

      Hmmm that's strange.
      Try this procedure:
      1.Set the parking brake.
      2.Turn the ignition switch to ON/RUN with the engine off.
      3.Turn the exterior lamp switch from AUTO to OFF four times within three seconds. A double horn chirp will sound and the TPMS low tire warning light starts flashing. The double horn chirp and flashing TPMS warning light indicates the TPMS matching process has started. The TPMS warning light should continue flashing throughout the matching procedure. The LOW TIRE message displays on the Driver Information Center (DIC).

    Help all of my tps sensor fail to relearn

    • @QuiteAlright
      @QuiteAlright  2 місяці тому

      Hello, if sensors are not recognized by tpms tool then it is a big chance they failed. If you purchased new sensors make sure they are programmable to Chevy Cruze and they can be programmable by the scanner you are using

      @@QuiteAlright Im having same issue, being told there may be a problem between the sensor and the car ECU not connecting well. Ever hear of this sort of thing?

    • @QuiteAlright
      @QuiteAlright  29 днів тому

      @@ironlifter07 I had it happen only once on a different vehicle and had to replace the module. So it is possible, but quite rare. Chevy Cruze uses the instrument panel cluster (IPC), body control module (BCM), four radio frequency transmitting pressure sensors, and the serial data circuit to perform the TPMS relearn mode functions. It might be something for Chevy dealership tov take a look at and see if they can diagnose better using their OEM scanner. Sorry I can't help more

      @@QuiteAlright Ok. Thank you so much! I was just wondering your thoughts. The tire place did get it to work for one day but the next day it was back to not reading for any of the tires. Ill take it to a technician and see what they say.

    • @QuiteAlright
      @QuiteAlright  28 днів тому

      @@ironlifter07 Hmmm that doesn't usually happen so it could be some kind of communication problem between sensors and the BCM. Hard to say without scanning it and running some diagnostics
