@@VintageClassicSpecialist I want to get a Karmann Ghia a few years down the road when I will be done raising my kids, but was having trouble with the color. I decided on pampas green
I had this exact model/color in college. Mine had a heart shaped front grill to cover a ding on the nose. 6 volt power and little heat and no A/C. I used votive candles on the dash as a defroster and once had it jump started by a lawn tractor. Still, it took the curves on Route 66 at speed like a champ got 30 miles per gallon and I regret having to sell it all the time.
Beautiful job, and excellent to have kept a typical 1960s colour which looks very good on the car. Was this the first car to have curved side glass? I think so. My only criticism is that it really needs wheels that show, either the original flattened versions of the domed VW hubcaps or shiny alloys. The black wheels look a bit lost.
Attention, according to new judgments and changes in EU and German construction law, it may happen that deregistered cars, classic cars and even vehicles with seasonal license plates are no longer allowed to be stored in garages. The municipalities need money and send inspectors around to check whether work is being done in garages or whether deregistered classic cars are parked. ...that can cost up to 10,000 euros! It is even planned that in the future (unregistered) vehicles and trailers parked in the garden (outside garages) will be defined as structures for which building authorities will then require building applications and permits (and of course not grant them!); there will be a network of vehicle registration offices and building regulations offices take place so that building permits are requested by car owners as soon as they are deregistered.
My dad had one…1200 cc only…good memories and I still love it !!!!! Proud of your good job !!!!!
Thank you so much! Those 1200's, aka 40 horses, are great motors!
Job well done....thanks for the vid
Thank YOU! 🙏
You all have a very Merry and Blessed Christmas.@@VintageClassicSpecialist
Very nice attention to detail.
Thanks! 🙏
Unique to the 61 Gia is it has both a gas gauge and an aux gas tank. I had a dark green coupe in high school.
Yup, cool stuff! 😎
Shift knob delete... nice Ghia...great work.... the 23 window will be fun...
Haha, not intentional on the shift knob, just didn't put one on. I'm pretty sure the owner has one for it in his stash.
Awesome, I'll looking for a Karmann Ghia with this as my goal.
They are beautiful cars for sure!

Wow, cool, thanks for sharing! They are pretty sporty little cars for what they are, super fun in the turns even when stock!
This spare tire has the correct factory trim ring detail

I beleive the owner has a nice set up hubcaps in his stash for it. Maybe beauty rings too? For sure they will make it look a lot better!
Would look sweet with two tone wheels!
It would for sure!
