Crazy how the lyrics are so accurate about the times we are in currently.
It all became true, literally everything he sang in this song
It was just as relevant back then, and even before that. This has been going on for decades now. They don't want the people to have real say in our own government, from federal to local. Hell, go back to the Peace Sells era and re-examine the lyrics: "What do you mean I couldn't be the President of the United States of America? It's still We the People, right?" Take that and remember how everyone reacted to Donald Trump running for office back in 2015-16. It's the reason they hate his fucking guts. He wasn't one of them, and he wasn't supposed to win. They've been in panic mode ever since.
@@j0hn00arthur As it should, we need to end.
Good.
Still current...
he is so highhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
hahahahaahahahahahha. Pensé lo mismo.
This is for me, probably the best song Megadeth has done since the comeback from retirement in 2004. There are also good songs on Dystopia or Endgame, but this was a great moment in Megadeth I think, it sounded so good.
The reason it sounds so good is because it is soooo good. Love this song and this direction as much as mosy everything Megadeth does...awesome!
Half agree, Kick the chair, Back in the day and Blackmail are up there too. Although overall, I think UA, Endgame and Dystopia are their best 3 records post 2000s.
Imho one of their absolute best
@@framedoc1 more than that they came back because 9/11 effected them a lot for there albums mentally for there fans they had no choice to take a break because America is only focused for America 9/11 for years and so on
I think a world need a hero is where they started being good again
And the system failed is awesome
And United abominations well the first half of it is some of megadeth best moments in music my favourite song in the album is the title track untitled abominations
@@vicrattlehead6386 the world needs a hero is much better than endgame, every song on that album is a banger
Dave couldn't be more wrong! There is nothing better than Megadeth!!
Mustaine is a Story teller
-"Playing live is basically just hyperactivity and a certain sense of enchantment that I deliver to the audience, to let them know what it would be like to be inside my head."-
Dave Mustaine
I wish they'd play this song again live.
I wish the same.
Now that lomenzo is back they might play it.
It would be amazing !
LoMenzo played it at a music shop a couple months ago so there is still hope!@@andreasfeon9436
"Megadeth is a way of life" 💪😎
Hes literally drooling on himself he's so high
Yea
He's always high
Mustaine for President...
Ok we can all agree, Dave at least is the best Thrash Metal musician/guitarist am I right?
Megadeth lyrics are a whole different philosophy in itself.
the bass sounds amazing!!
His vocal took a sharp decline after that year. He still sounded great here and could hit the high notes with ease.
I know, you can see on "Blood in the Water" video, he was already struggling, I think some of his high notes were altered. I remember the time while Metallica was struggling to be as energetic and "young" as they were when Jason was in the band, Dave seemed to be stuck at time, he didn't age after 2009, I guess he was in his middle 40's here, but looked like he was about to reach his 30's.
His best vocals was on 2007 as everyone can see.
It's called 'getting older''. Happens to everyone (and it will happen to you).
He also developed throat cancer which sucks, but he's cured now thankfully!!!
@@michaelmartins177 His vocal was the best throughout the 90's and still great in 2004-2008. Gigantour 2005 DVD has no overdubs and he sounded great. He started to struggle during RIP annivesary tour, and was really struggling during the Big 4 tour in that same year. I think neck surgery and throat cancer impacted his voice big time.
Drover is such a great lead guitarist. His sweep picking and fluidity are on full display here.
Lotta feel and style too. Hear a little Andy laroque influence in there.
Dave McClain is such an amazing frontman!
Word Dave mcclain
And Machine Head sounds great here...
Wow, this is the first time I'm seeing Glen Drover performing his own solo in Megadeth. Damn. Between both Drover brothers, Glen should've stayed.
TheyCallMeFilep probably got fed up with daves bs
Amen.
Yeah, Glen was great on UA. Sick lead tone.
Amén
@@fearofthedark88 he said in an interview that he prefers improvisation to playing the same solo live all the time, especially when it’s a song from Megadeth’s back catalogue and isn’t even his.
Dave you are my hero. You got it all... you are VICTORY.
Best lyricist , Best band leader
YOU'RE FIRED
3:55 makes me NEED to pick up my guitar like instantly! LOL
Dave Mustaine is not the best one in Metal. Dave Mustaine is Metal. Period.
Dave is the god of rock, hard rock, heavy metal and thrash metal muahahahah
Wait a second! Machine Head // Dave McClaine?
XDDDDD
I was gonna say that too
I dont know why, but i was laughing my head of when i saw that
This line up is the second tightest behind the classic line up. Glenn was smoking on the guitar...
Dave said he was bummed when Glen left. He liked his playing a lot.
Shawn was probably the worst drummer in the band's history.
Otherwise this lineup was great.
@@silencedoesgood hah but he was in the band longer than any other guys even Nick.
I still think the 2nd best belong to the 2001 lineup. Pitrelli was underrated
Man glen sounded fucking awesome here.
Great song.
That megadeth's line up is amazing. I Love Ellefson and Kiko, but man, these men playing are awesome!!!
I love Dave vocals on this album. Sounds really natural and comfortable for him. Idk why he sings with all the rasp nowadays.
I think after having cancer and other problems it's difficult to sing so he choses rasp
Past substance abuse, neck surgery, throat cancer and most importantly, age.
He had to get neck surgery at some point in the early 2010s to where they added a metal plate to fuse 2 vertibrae together following a piece of bone braking off from all the headbanging. His voice was also starting to get a bit raspy after endgame (atleast you start to notice hints of it), probably a result of age, but the metal plate accentuated it alot. From what I`ve gathered from interviews, the metal plate presses up against his voicebox, which increases the raspyness, but also stops him from hitting the higher notes, which can be seen in live performances of their old music ( he often looks in pain and really staining when doing songs like hanger 18 and holy wars, and I`d imagine that`s also part of the reason why he hesn`t really done Washington is next live since, even though it`s probably one of their bes songs since the early 90s).
The fact he is currently in his (early) 60s and went toe to toe with throat cancer just a couple of years ago hasn`t helped things either, though I`d argue that since he beat cancer and has had time to recover a bit, his voice currently sounds the best it has sounded in a decade, even if in many of the live shows I`ve watched recently his voice still sounds a bit tired and lacking in volume and energy (again, he beat cancer not too long ago and likely srill hasn`t fully recovered from the strain om his body, although it sounds to me like it is slowly but steadily recovering)
The James Hetfield of today sounds different than the James Hetfield of St. Anger, right? That sentence could be said for almost anyone, people age.
His voice was perfect around this time. He wasn’t straining he was just singing I wish he could go back to it
Dave is a genius.I remember my Frd saying that covering Megadeth songs re tough especially Dave's solos which re intimidating
Lomenzo is a beast.
What is normal?... Dave Mustaine. PERIOD.
P.S. i want that solid dark oak Explorer Bass guitar.
Dave high or drunk as fk :S ya know, honestly Glenn Drover,... Dude fkin ripped hard. One of the best lead guitarists Megadeth had, as in probably the most perfect for the attitude of the band overall.
This Era of Dave was wasted on this lineup. He was still in great shape and deserved better, more creative bandmates
Dave is literally high as fuck in the beginning interview
No no Mr Dave... ur just the best :P
james lo menzo es el mejor bajista que ha tenido megadeth sin duda
Many names can be brought up, but for me you can't find a person that symbolises heavy metal more than mr. Mustaine. The energy, the genuineness, the raw nature and the pissed off lyrics.. Everything that makes this genre so great can be found in this man. Sure, he might me a d**k once in a while and he might sing like s**t but I don't care. When you have a character like this I can easily see past the weaknesses and admire the strengths instead.
high as a kite.
People love shitting on Drover's solos on other guitarists songs, but his solos on his own song here are sick as fuck.
there is no better guitarist than him
They should make an official release of this concert. I saw Megs just the day before this concert and they were really on fire on this tour.
Dave sounds so awesome here❤️
Dave Genius Mustaine
holy shit the best damm band in all the universe
Dave Mustoned
But there’s no band greater than Megadeth.
Damn he got so fucking into it
impresionante versión de este tema en vivo
Nothing against Broderick or Ellefson, but I think Glen and James had better overall tone and sound to the recent post 2000 Megadeth lineups. Lomenzo's finger picking sounds so good. I think the bass line made this song work
I agree. I think Glen plays Marty's solos away better than Broderick.
Ellefson is awesome but the Drover-Lomenzo chemistry was better for a more progressive thinking Megadeth.
Glen was a complete badass on the stage, and I'm a BIG fan of his style. I really love LoMenzo's energy and he is incredibly talented. I love Broderick too, though.
*****
Glens version of Tornado of Souls is awful!
Ryan Holmes I prefer Glen just because I hate how Broderick plays Tornado of Souls, especially the solo. But I understand your opinion.
hes so loaded in the beginning interview
From my favorite album
Dave I disagree there is no better lyricist than you. almost prophetic...
189harvesterofsorrow ever heard of death angel... I am not disagreeing megadeth has some of the best but death angel has some fucking great ass lyrics.
samuel garofalo I have not, but I will have to.
I don't know if he's the s¿best guitar thrash metal player, but, damn it, he too guitar to another level.
189harvesterofsorrow it's so true he is best by far
Chuck schuldiner
Love this vid his vocals are clear
This first Dave's solo is INSANE!
3:07 wtf?
Are you referring to Dave using his thumb? It's a hard asf technique to do.
Yeah that is hard to do with or without tapping which Dave does not but id imagine tapping would be the solution for people with smaller hands.
@@JoeBamaBangedUrMama He's referring to that dude on a handstand with his legs spread apart 😂😂
Leonardo Peretti lmfao, could be both. Haha
@@psychogenesis6755 That one cracked me up haahahah
Dave looks so cute and innocent when he is drunk
their sound is so perfect on that stage
LoMenzo playing without pick? It’s great 👍
Excelente!
Great Song!
Lyrics and riffs he’s the master
3:26 BEST PART OF THE SONG

Puñeta..así se toca...duroooo Megadeth...You're the Best Dave
Dave's a genius. One of my fav Megadeth songs. WIN Lyrics have truths about what's happening today
Dioses. Nunca pasaran de moda y sera muy diferente que alguien les llegue a su nivel de trasher,
nice of them to get a tune together that shows there love of Adrian Smiths song writing, I also think he is great!
I thought I was the only one who noticed.
Мастер, с большой буквы. И неважно что про него несёт Метла. Талант не спрячешь и не пропьешь.
mustaine......
goose bumps man...
I was there n it was my first time seeing MEGADETH!!!!
So...How the hell in actual fuck does he do what he does when he is that fried????? It is truly amazing!!! I couldn't do that sober and I have been playing for a long time!
this may have been one of the best.
perfect solo master mustaine¡¡¡
I love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantástico e rachante.

No dave! No one is better than you.. you are a Monster !! ( in a good way of course)
camera man: "people don't want to see the solo, let's focus on Glen's face... way better"
Holy fuck amazing !!!!!
ooooh yeah, i was there
mustaine is a genius
It's one of the bes Dave's live.
It's almost terrifying how old did Dave get since this age... it looks like he got 30 years in just 15 or something like this
James Lo Menzo is a great bass player and I love his playing style. I've been playing bass for four years, and the beginning bass line is still really challenging. I can't seem to wrap my head around it. Quite frustrating.
Very very good formation.........Glen is good guitarist with the very easy listening n smooth ........
Wow this video is 14 years old.
da best band leader ever ..!!!
@problemofficer haha maybe he was so high he told them he's Dave McClain from Machine Head
